Yeah, that was a part of the original announcement. Here's the thread for the announcement (which is worth reading through for all the butthurt :lol).Scrubking said:It was obviously a PR answer (lie). I think someone else at Capcom confirmed that the main reason was budget concerns or something like that.

Yeah, makes me wish I had a time machine to let the doubters how wrong they were :lol.Scrubking said:Thanks for the link. That thread is hilarious... and sad.
This I don't really agree, Wiimote controls is fantastic too.PuppetMaster said:And then they release the game with a classic controller, which is hands down the superior way to play the game?
Yeah, I recall reading that somewhere when they first revealed MH3.Scrubking said:It was obviously a PR answer (lie). I think someone else at Capcom confirmed that the main reason was budget concerns or something like that.

Dam you for digging out that thread:lol

Classic Controller Scheme 1AgentOtaku said:But can someone actually post the controls for Tri?
For both Classic Controller Pro and Wii/Nunchuk?
I have the CCPro and am honestly not that impressed with it. It just fits awkardly in my hands.
ME!!!!!!!!!! CC2 is my favorite control method ever. Old hunters like PS2 controls.AgentOtaku said:Thanks man! You rock me ...hard
EDIT: Awesome to see they moved camera control to the right analog in CC1.
For CC2: Why would anyone wanna attack with said right analog though? ...weird
Anyone else care to post nunchuck controls? If not, maybe I can find them somewhere
Yeah, CC2 is probably the best scheme for Great Swords. Upwards slices are really annoying to pull off with the other schemes. And, since I have large hands, I can (reasonably comfortably) reach over to the D-pad with my right thumb for camera controlTenbatsu said:ME!!!!!!!!!! CC2 is my favorite control method ever. Wiiremote controls here:

Its in japanese, ask me if you need to clarify anything.
Nothing for now but its a sooner or later thing. Just be patient. Maybe after the release of MH3G.Anerythristic said:Hey guys I have been patient but I have to ask. Any rumors at all on the next portable version?
You have to understand I essentially live with my hunting party, so we were happy but not that excited by either the PS3 or the Wii version :lol It's a portable game for us.
We just purchased G/Unite at the US release date, so are nowhere near bored yet but curiosity is killing me.
Well I've only played the Demo so I don't know how LS and Lances are but Hammers at the very least are better with CC1. Though I can reach the d-pad comfortably enough, it's still not as ideal as right stick camera control.Tenbatsu said:^
CC2 is the best control for all weapons actually. Don't forgot that MH was originally built for CC2 control.

You mean like local multiplayer? There is a split screen mode but it only lets you play arena quests. If you really want to get the full MH multiplayer experience, you will have to go online. Still I've invested 75+ hours in the series so far and have yet to even try multiplayer at all. It' still a blast solo.NintendosBooger said:New to the series, and don't know much about it outside of impressions and reviews, but what multiplayer options are available to those interested buyers not big on online gaming?
They is an online colosseum mode and an event quest mode. You can also create model statues online for display in both offline/online rooms.Mik2121 said:I think there's something else besides doing the typical quests, but I'm not sure yet.
The AI for Chacha is good in MH3. Not great but good.Luigiv said:Something just donned on me, how is Chacha's AI in MH3? I just got MHFU a few weeks ago and I have to say the felyne comrade AI leaves something to be desired. I swear Musashi is aiming for me when he throws those bombs.
That's nice to hear. Nothing quite like finally knocking over a White Monoblos after hacking at it's legs for 10 minutes, planing to use the opportunity to break it's horn, only to have your comrade sabotage it by throwing a small bomb at you (and completely missing the monster whilst he's at it). Hopefully nothing like that happens in MH3.Tenbatsu said:The AI for Chacha is good in MH3. Not great but good.
Yes it does happen in MH3 but it all depends on Cha cha's mood. If he is angry he will just go all out attack. Also there is one particular mask that.......Luigiv said:That's nice to hear. Its outside the online armory room. Just pass the items needed to the cat mending the booth.Mik2121 said:Oh wow, I didn't know that and I have even seen it yet. Where do you do that?
Also, what kind of model statues? Like, your character? Or you can use also monster statues and whatnot?

I'd say those are pretty decent upgrades.
Sorry but am almost at the end of the gameMik2121 said:I'm HR16 now, can't wait to get to HR18 to get access to the ☆☆☆ missions. I already cleared all the ☆☆ ones.
Playing online just feels so good!
Any other gaffer playing online? My nickname is Mik, rank 16 as I said. Feel free to add me!
You pretty much described it perfectlyEffect said:Still working my way through the thread but can anyone give a break down of how these Monster Hunter games play general?
Are you simply in a hub/city where you collect quest and just go out to an area to hunter a monster either by yourself or with others online?
Is there an actual storyline/rpg game at play here or simply the above? Is it comparable to how the Phantasy Star Online/Universe games were setup?
The game looks very interesting but haven't had time to really look into until now.
B-Genius said:You pretty much described it perfectlyThere is not much story to speak of - you usually awake in a village that is under peril from monsters, and rise through the ranks taking down bigger and badder foes, proving your worth and gaining fame.
It is comparable to PSO (at least that's what I compared it to when I first started playing), in that you have a hub and branch out into different areas on quests. But the areas are open, not a set of corridors you have to traverse to get to a boss. There is (almost) always a boss, and it will travel (almost) anywhere in an area.
As for RPG elements, there is no leveling up per se, but your Hunter Rank (HR) does increase as you topple greater beasts. You upgrade your weapons and armour rather than your character. Tri works slightly different, in that online your HR and 'Renown' points seem to be a much bigger thing. Someone who has the game will be able to explain this better, but it sounds great
If you're at all interested, Tri will be an amazing iteration to begin the series with. However, if you find your curiosity gets the better of you and you have a PSP then pick up Unite. You won't regret it!
