But that, sadly, is a self fulfilling prophecy. A pedophile is sexually stimulated by images of children. If you liked bukkake you could jump onto Google image right now and fill your boots. You can't just hop onto Google (thankfully) and acquire material like child pron that way.
These horrendous images/videos all underground and largely inaccessible unless you're part of a network. So to acquire stuff like that you need to go online and 'join up'. Doing so means you are more likely to get caught.
And of course the same is also very true if (sadly) physical abuse takes place. Though many victims remain silent indefinitely or for many years there are those brave enough to speak out about what happened to them. Just look at the recent Rolf Harris and Saville cases.
All in all it's becoming increasingly difficult to become an 'active' pedophile with modern technological advances and whatnot but clearly it's still not difficult enough as these recent arrests have shown.

The law isn't always correct, and you need checks and balances to insure it can be corrected. You can't just ban lobbying for something because you don't like it.

Yeah, I'm not insinuating any of that nor condoning those acts. Just pointing out that a crackdown on what the Daily Mail reader base and a lot of people calling for an extremely harsh crackdown would not make that distinction as seen by the people who wanted that porn filter for all ISPs.

We invented the term humanity too you know. Everything is relative. Some people would have been 100% in favor of banning lobbying for marijuana. If it'd been allowed it'd still be illegal.

While it'd be indeed very important that simply being a pedophile (who controls himself/herself) isn't demonized, it's worth remembering that this issue isn't just about people harming children. Watching/owning child porn is a bad thing and shouldn't be tolerated.
