Lui Kang being a bad guy is really interesting and I'm curious to know his story. I'm excited for the second season. It's awesome to see the same actor who plays as Shang Tsung from the first MK movie in MK Legacy.

I kinda doubt Liu Kang is a bad guy in this. I'm guessing they will tie his background to Kung Lao, but have him leave/be disgraced from whatever monastery he was from. He'll probably be some petulant youth both sides want to recruit. Whether or not he tells both sides to piss off is the question. Or I could totally be wrong!

Yeah. Kung Lao will put him on good path in the end and we'll see final fight Liu Kang - Shang Tsung.
I hope he stays evil and even outlives Shang Tsung so the final match is KL vs LK and KL splits him down the middle with his fancy new Razor hat that he pulls out of nowhere.
And then NRS Kano it and he becomes the Villain in the next MK game, though that might happen anyway based on Raiden being a dumb ass.

I haven't seen the first season yet - but does anyone know if these are good to watch for a casual audience? I own the BD of the first season, and I have a friend who loved the films (more so in a "haha this is so bad but so good" kind of way) and who casually plays the games with me.

Again! Though I don't think Shang's actor would be up for it this time.
If Shang will fight, I bet they will show shang with as many mirror characters as possible. Beginning of the fight: angry shang -> morph into fighters -> get beaten -> end shot shang morphs back to himself, defeated.
It's... dumb. Really dumb. But there are some episodes that stick out as pretty cool, namely the Raiden or Scorpion/Sub Zero episodes.
As long as she isn't going in expecting anything SO awesome, and can let it just be this ridiculous cheesy thing, she may have fun with it.

They're super short episodes but entertaining. Either way you won't lose much time over it. Some brief but cool fights, last episode is a must see.

It's not quite Annihilation level bad, I can say that much
It's just kinda self-serious, but in a cheesy and kinda endearing way. No clue if they're keeping the same structure, or if there'll even be all that much continuity between seasons.

I was kind of dissapointed in the last season after being pretty hyped about the original pitch video. There's still some good stuff and interesting takes on things (Raiden in particular) but there was a lot of blah and dumb stuff that even I couldn't get over.
Season 2 looks interesting though. It's free so I'll definitely give it a watch.

Why do they keep fucking up Scorpion (and Sub Zero).
The original movie's Scorpion looks so damn bad ass. How fucking hard can it be to at the very least match that.

That looks awesome! I enjoyed the first season, but this looks to finally ramp things up and start getting into the gritty aspects of the MK universe. I also think the costuming looks really good. I'm pumped.

Just proves how advanced Lin Kuei was. They made suits people 100 years in the future still wear.
But seriously I don't mind, looks cool. Fits Subby. The rags some characters wore in mk1-3 were ridiculous and cheap like motocross plates for robots, but still managed to look cool. It's all in imagination.

God, the costume on the web series look both horrible and try-hard. I agree that the 1st movie had it right when it comes to costume design.
