Maybe they should try to finally do 2D right before they resort to that. Their best sprites to date (SFIII) were made for a 384X224 screen resolution. That's pathetic. Can you imagine how good a 2D Street Fighter would look if they drew everything for 1920X1080, with more frames of character animation than SFIII? How about 8-bit alpha channels on everything, instead of 1-bit, so there are no jaggies on anything? While they're at it, why not upgrade the number of colors per sprite? For the backgrounds, they could do Deep Canvas-quality stuff in real-time.
A 2D game that pushed the limits of 360, (or something better) with its 522MB of RAM and gobs of processing power, would blow your mind.
