heavy metal music videos have historically been pretty cringe 😅
there's a vast amount of examples out there in heavy and power metal alone

some cringe videos that come to mind:

Blind Guardian had some decent high production value videos in the past, so this one was surprisingly cringe to me just recently.
the director apparently was like "do that robot movement stuff kids do when they pretend to be a robot! that's it! great!" 🤣

then there's this masterpiece by Dragony
Lords of the Hunt, a song about Bloodborne, but the drummer seems to think they're playing a song on a kids birthday party or something 😂

This gem has a real hammer of cringe when the giant bear reveals its identity at the teenage girls sleepover:

This one is just a classic awful song. Video isn’t great either, but you get to enjoy both thanks to me!

Edit: second video seems to not allow playback, so I tried a daily motion link instead.

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
are they tomboys?
You have blocked late 90s boy bands from your mind. The "'straight' guys who look and act gay" thing was the norm. It soon infected rock music and cursed us with over a decade of emo.

I'm still not sure if this is real or not:

I liked the decade from the 80s to 2010s better.

The current one is rubbish... There are no longer similar groups like Nirvana or Rock.... Now it's rotten music like that marshmallow one

Following up on the Pet Shop Boys post earlier, here's another English beauty from around that time.

Ah like the Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears videos were classics for the time. Although Michael Jackson beat them to it with "Leave me alone".

Videos were bonkers back then, not bad songs though. Think Peter Gabriel did it best.

Soundgarden, Tears for Fears, Linkin Park, GodSmack; shame on some of ya'll. Even the crazy town album was legit IMO

Christ, not heard this in years, pure classic. So wholesome yet spooky.

I remember once it took off as a meme on Sonwthing Awful (I think) they did a Q&A and it was so wholesome and awesome. Was heartwarming (for skeletons without hearts). Brilliant stuff.

Never seen a music video for it but that “I know Victoria’s Secret” song makes me cringe so hard I think my face is gonna snap in half
