Most pathetic/desperate/obsessed/regrettable thing you have done gaming related?

Had to pay for metal gear solid , brawl, and other games somehow..... and sure people were paying me £5, £10, £20, for a hand job, a blow job, it was easy money for good games.

it was a lot of games ok

The worst is that I must self-limit my online playing of Splatoon and especially Smash 4. I get very angry playing these games online against others. I think it's the lack of communication that leads me to read too much into every little action as a vindictive hostile act, whether it's perceived team incompetence or an opponent that comes off as being an asshole. Part of it is also my temperament, but I do still think that parts of these online communities (For Glory) are rude trash.

- 14 hours in line to get a PS2 that I took home, hooked up, and realized I didn't have a PS2 game yet.

- I had a girlfriend come by after I had just done some kind of stuff on a Saturn game. She let herself in, walked in, and proceeded to turn the console off without letting me save, saying, "you can play with me now." I was like, "fuck no I can't, now I have to redo all that shit I just did." and I made her go home rather than be naked with her and whatnot.

This did not get enough attention...not that she couldn't have made a more considerate entrance, but damn, sent home?!

We were on process of moving together with my girlfriend few years ago and were planning to have break on packing our places for cozy night together at my place. But I had just got Dragon age 2, so I texted her that I have so much packing that let's try tomorrow. So I just played whole day and most of the night. Then I spent couple hours on early morning packing before she came. And she was proud I had packed so much!

Flunked out of college raiding Vanilla WOW.

I remember one night it was study for algebra or raid MC for Pants.

I raided MC baby!

Wish I never got a PS2 HDD for SOCOM 2. It lead me to playing FFXI, liking it, and getting hooked. I spent too much time in that game. Gaf too, wish I never found it. Though the internet would be boring without gaf. Heck I might have been addicted to social media in gaf's place (shivers).

I'm kind of with on the GAF part. I've spent far too many hours here since I joined.

On topic I spent over 500 days on Everquest in game between '99 and '04. I'm hesitant to say I regret it since it's one of the very best games I've ever played and I made some great real life friends through it but it's still far too much. There was a lot of skipping school and lying to my parents, girlfriend and others friends involved in racking up such a high playtime.

Now that I'm thinking about it I really fucking regret it.

GAF should have a stat page showing how many pages you visit a day, how long you visit, etc. It would be pretty damn scary since this is where the majority of my webpage usage comes from.

Back when I was addicted to Killzone 2’s glorious MP my PS3 died with the disk stuck in the system. I shipped my system off to be repaired, but I didn’t feel like waiting for it to return so I went to Best Buy and bought another PS3 and another copy of Killzone 2. It was worth it.

Wow some of the stuff in this thread. Dropping classes, missing work days, lying and stealing from friends, buying Amiibo, etc. :|||

Fought my brother because he thought I lost his Pokemon cart and kept giving me shit for it. We were both around 8 or 9 years old. It ended up being in a bag or something.

Confronted a classmate in tears after they lied to me about a secret character in Smash Bros..

Sold 13 games for $130 in a bundle a year ago. Almost all of them were worth more than $10, especially Tropical Freeze, 3D World, Wind Waker HD and Kirby: Triple Deluxe. That guy got a hell of a deal but I'm almost positive he resold them.

Maxed out every character's "level" in PS All-Stars today, after almost 3 years of off and on play. After I make the video I will never play that game again.

I stayed up past 4AM to watch Sony's E3 conference. It was 2013, I think, the year they did the whole PS4 stuff so it was at least cool to see that live. Wasn't so cool when I took a maths exam the next morning.

When I was a competitive Return to Castle wolfenstein player I played way too much, sometimes ignoring my girlfriend at the time. We had the computer in our bedroom and I remember this one specific scene where she was playing with herself in the bed all naked when I turned around, wanting me to come over. I gave her a quick smile, turned my chair back to the computer and put my headset back on again. "Hello guys, I'm back!"

Terrible hahaha.

I don't understand any of this. You were playing Championship Manager and your character was wearing a suit? Or you were wearing a suit? Sorry, non-Brit here.

Mine revolves around the game Digimon World 2 on PS1. I was obsessed with it. So obsessed that I charted out my digivolution tree throughout the game. I had pages and pages of digivolutions and DNA digivolutions. Also, I started doing the digimon animations myself in time with the digimon as they did their moves as a kind of aerobic exercise... yeah, it was weird.

Oh and I 100%'ed that crappy match 3 Fat Princess game on Vita. I have no idea why, I'm not a trophy whore, and I didn't like the game that much, at the end it just devolved into mindless grinding.

I wore the suit mate

I wore a suit to the FA Cup final on my Championship Manager save with Arsenal

Lashley never change bud.

That's one of the most endearing things I've heard.

That's pretty cool - I bet you guys had a lot of fun.

Indeed. My buds picked it up surprisingly quickly, but there's definitely a learning curve.

I explained early on that if you don't eject in time, your pilot dies and your profile gets deleted. Our first casualty flipped up the Molly-cover, but neglected to push the actual eject button. I look over my shoulder to see him sitting there patiently, klaxons wailing, hands neatly crossed in his lap, and yell, "EJECT!" He just barely managed to pull it off. We still have a good laugh about it from time to time.

I've been playing all variants of Smash since launch. I still play 64 and Melee frequently.

I waited in line for 8 hours to pick up a Wii during launch season.

I have bought every iteration of Street Fighter IV.

I would frequently play DDR Extreme until I got leg cramps.

I once got called out in class for playing Pokémon Black and White's battle subway during the lecture.

- Achievements: I got a bit obsessed with getting as many as I could, but not necessarily getting 100% on every game. It was more about gamerscore. Trophies have made getting 100% more attractive. Sad examples include achievements on fitness evolved for burning something like 200000 calories. In a good hour long work out you could burn a few hundred. It meant that you would need to play every day for several years to legitimately get this so I just changed the settings to max weight and put my coat on a chair in front of the kinect overnight. I did this for three nights and became a bit ashamed of what I was doing and stopped.
Sweet lord have mercy.

So, this stays between us right?

Purchased 10 copies of Steel Battalion: Line of Contact with their accompanying controllers, scoured the 'net for both the DLC and data files necessary to unlock all Maps & VTs, and modded over a dozen Xboxes to play it on.

Totally worth it.

Steel Battalion is one hell of a game. Hold your head high, my friend!

Wasting time playing and grinding for the seriously achievement in Gears one.
My connection with the rest of the world sucked at the time so I was forced.....forced I tells ya to grind.
Now when ever I hear the Gears lobby music, I get chills for all the wrong reasons.

17,500 games of Halo 2 online. Brother played a bit on my GT but I just have to own that addiction from way back when.

No ragrets, met life long friends then and we still do annual paintball and LANs.

I missed social engagements and took vacation hours to play WoW back in the day. 12 hour no-lifing sessions, neither eating nor bathing. I honestly don't regret it at all. I had a blast.

probably the most ridiculous thing I did was last February it snowed really bad around my area probably a good 4 or 6 inches which for north texas is pretty intense. My dad had got his bonus from his promotion and he was happy with how my grades were, and my launch 3DS was not doing so hot (the L button wasnt responding very well after years of being put in and out of my pocket.) And I wasn't gonna be able to go home and visit them like I planned cause of the heavy snowfall.

So my dad transferred the money for a N3DS into my account and said if I wanted to go get it go right ahead, and I walked probably a mile and a half to and from the gamestop, trudging through the snow while it continued to snow down on me. I then walked to the radioshack nextdoor got a microSD card. Trudged all the way back to my apartment ransacked the place for a screwdriver to undo the backplate, and spent the rest of the night transferring my data to my new 3DS. The whole process probably took a good 6-7 hours and I couldnt even use the 3DS until like 10PM

I really wanted Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate okay. My dad still teases me about it sometimes and most of my friends do too. But it was pretty fun experience overall, like a little adventure.

I also cry over videogames a lot prime examples being Persona 4, MGS 3, and Undertale.

One night while laying in bed my gf was giving me grief about not giving her any attention while I was playing my DS, l got angry and snapped it in half. I'm very mature.

Dropped a class to play MGS V. I was very disappointed in the game, but the class was shit anyway, so no loss there.

I did the same thing lolol. Didn't need the class so whatevsss. :P

Game was dope tho. #teamhallucination

Prob the dumbest thing I've done was buy a Wii U in Japan to play Dragon Quest X... Only to play through the single player, set up the online and got bored with it.. Sold the Wii U on eBay for profit tho (shrug).

Also, selling my dreamcast to buy a psp.. I was kicking my 13 year old self until I bought a dreamcast again a few months ago. So worth it.

My regret: I bought and collected every Skylanders figure from the first series barring most special/limited edition figures (like gold/silver/conventions-only). I even went so far as to collect those Skylanders sidekick figures and a Flocked Stump Smash from buying those Lay's chips bags. I honestly don't remember why I started buying them in the first place, but my game-completionist mentality took hold of me IRL (the only other game that has done this to me was pokemon). I think became addicted to the collecting rather than the game itself.

Now I'm wondering if I'll be able to resell them, but would people still be interested in the first series figures?

Thankfully, I've resisted buying amiibos, but the temptation was there at first...
