A poet once said, 'life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it's never easy when there's so much on the line.'

My dad's mottos:

"If she touches it she better fuck it"

"If I lick it, she shouldn't be surprised when I stick it"

Regular Aristotle, that father of mine.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
Don't make a mountain out of a molehill
Two heads are better than one
It takes two to tango
An apple a day keeps the doctor away

Try everything once.

don't make a mountain out of a mole hole.

Put my imagination to use if I'm bored at work (I'l pretend I'm a spy or someshit and make a huge ass story in my head all day at work).

Drugs are for mugs, mugs are for tea and tea is for me.

  • Try to avoid failure, it sucks. But you'll still fail a few times, so don't get cocky.
  • Don't be a hypocrite: if you take full credit for your successes, take full credit for your failures, as well.
  • Better safe than sorry.
  • Mentsch tracht, Gott lacht. (Translation: Man plans, God laughs.)
  • Prediction is very difficult, especially about the future.
  • The far future will not be as shiny or as bleak as you picture it.
  • This too will pass, though probably not for a while.
  • Don't get caught being a dick.
  • If you have to constantly remind yourself to forget the stuff that "doesn't matter," it probably does matter to you in fact.
  • "Shit happens" more often to dumbasses. A less vulgar version: Chance favors the prepared mind.

Only one I really agree with is the second.

Failure is a normal learning experience. Sure, safe is better but sometimes risks are needed. Predicting the future is tough I guess. The others are worded in an odd way but at heart they kinda ring true I suppose.

"May the bridges you burn today, light your way into tomorrow"

"You can`t avoid having regrets but you do get to choose them."

"When your old sitting in a rocking chair, do you wnat to be thinking "I wish I had done that" or do you wan to have a little smile on your face thinking "Oh I should n `t have done that!"

edit "oh and don`t stick your dick in crazy" that advice alone would solve about 90% of everyone's girl problems

-There are two types of people in the world, radiators and drains
Too nice to get rid of the drains unfortunately

-What is popular is seldom right, what is right is seldom popular
For me this is usually drinking

-Every cloud has a silver lining
Big believer in this 99% of the time

Something my father said about my grandfathers death, will always stay with me, basically be grateful for what you have

From two of my favourite authors.

"Once you've got a task to do, it's better to do it than to live with the fear of it." - Logen Ninefingers, from Joe Abercrombie's "The Blade Itself".

I try to live by this but it's hard to push away fear sometimes and just do...

"A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one." - Jojen, from George R R Martins "A Dance with Dragons".

This is a beautiful quote and inspires me to read as often as I can.

"Confidence is a stain they can't wipe off" - Lil Wanye (it's a good line, what can I say?0

"Success is my only motherfucking option, failure's not" - Eminem

"The distance between genius and insanity is measured only by success" - not sure

"Hlava hore" (means head up in Slovak, has an intrinsic meaning for me though)

"Strong survive"

Only one really: Respect starts with you.

I learned pretty early on that people can say some pretty awful or untrue things about you based solely on things such as religious beliefs, where you grew up, or what sort of hobbies or interests you had. At first, I was incredibly bitter and sort of argumentative about it. Then I took a look deeper and began to just smile and let it go. I realized that these people, regardless of their beliefs have probably gone through similar experiences as I have based on whatever their own personal beliefs were. I realized the more I just set myself up to be a better person, loving and respecting others and just generally making it a more comfortable environment for people to be around me, the happier I was with myself and the more people were generally more respectful with me.
