MS Showcase will be Gen 9 heavy, but not the entire show...

They should really say this stuff weeks in advance. I totally expected this to focus on series X the entire show.

Say what, though..? It literally can't be a Series X focused show when we already know the first party games shown will run on X1 too.

They also wouldn't completely abandon games they've revealed before but haven't release yet, i.e. Battletoads and Grounded. What's the point? Those games need press too.

i am getting worried for this event... i am beginning to think the only "big" next gen reveal they have is Halo Infinite, i really hope i am wrong

Fable is pretty much a lock at this point. I'm sure Forza will be there as well. I think we'll also find out what The Initiative's AAA IP is.

All these games will work on series X. At this point, they need to be showing everything on that.

I understand the xbox one is still a thing, but at this point, no one fucking cares anymore. Push XSX.

Just wait until Microsoft pull the ultimate troll and use the XB1 version of Halo for the whole Halo reveal. :messenger_beaming:

I think they might, then switch to the Series X version mid gameplay to show the difference between this gen and next gen, they need to showcase that the cross-gen narrative is a good move.

What could they possibly have coming out still for X1 that would warrant showing as opposed to next gen stuff?

The show is only an hour guys.

As long as they don't open with GTA V
Dude how did I forget about that already...

I think the millions and millions of people who still have an X1 and felt jipped by poor game output this last generation are gonna care a great deal about the fact that they can play most of these new games without buying a $500 machine.

They may well have everything at their show running on a XSX, but that in no way guarantees the games will still look like that when they release. Downgrades are very common, very real and you should never judge a game's visual fidelity on its press show appearances. The show is about games, not graphics.

You forgot because it was sony that did it. No one complains when sony do shit like that.
You're probably right? Although even when it happened, I wasn't like "oh come the fuck on Sony...GTA?...again?...really?" So that's probably more of a reason why.

It was the most terrible opener I can think of in recent memory though. If I remember correct, it took a hot minute to get to the good stuff. Spiderman: MM didn't even do it for me. I think the first time I was like "oh ok Sony, I see you" was Ratchet and Clank reveal.

Let me put it to you this way: if MS started their may showcase with GTAV, youd still be hearing about it today and the thread would be 120 pages long.

For the love of god, please don't show Grounded or Battle Toads...

Good, hopefully we learn more about the next update for Minecraft. Not sure there is much else I care about from current gen to be honest, I am all aboard the hype train for the XsX.

Sorry dude but Grounded is awesome after actually playing it. Can't wait until the 29th to play it again. Also , it will probable be on the preshow and not the main show.

I wish MS didn't feel like they would be alienating people by committing 100% to the next generation right out of the gates.

I guess we'll see how this plays out for them.

I wonder if it'll garner at least a number of views that's close to what PlayStation 5's gaming show garnered.
I doubt it. The PS5 stream had a lot of build up and anticipation, leading up to the reveal of the console itself.
This will have a good amount of viewers, but nowhere near the amount of the PS5 stream.

I mean when you have Phil saying no series x exclusive for two years or so was this really a surprise to anyone.

Phil Spencer on the quality of Xbox July event
"If it's cringey and just poor production value like Inside Xbox was it's going to be very disappointing despite the content they'll show. You have to have a good presentation especially since it's for next gen. We shall see how it turns out"

Then when the fuck there is going to be Series X showcase, where the fuck is E3. I am not going to tune into another inside xbox.

Oh, so 9th generation is SXS and PS5? Never understood naming it gen X, as if I know what was the first gen. I was PC only before that.
They have to be pro-consumer.

This is a bullshit quote and the second time you have posted it.

Do you think that it will garner at least one million views? More specifically, how many views do you think it will garner?

Not watching because you don't want to or can't? Even "xbots" happily watched the ps5 event because we're all happy for next gen in general.

I think the following is the source of that quote, which doesn't seem to be Phil Spencer.

I don't see why not.

Although I don't have a specific number in mind. I didn't even expect so many viewers to tune in for the PS5 stream.

I'm watching it right now. Currently, Geoff Keighley is web-camming with three YouTubers (i.e. Austin Evans, jackeyeceptic, and some other YouTuber I've never seen before).

The first game that they're showing in this presentation, Dragonquest XI, does not look impressive at all; the graphics are below Switch quality. 12 teraflops being wasted.

The second game that they're showing, Exomecha, looks like it's still in the alpha phase; the textures are flat and have practically no detail.

This third or fourth game that they're showing (I might have missed one), Hello Neighbor 2, looks pretty good. It has intentionally cartoonish graphics and an aesthetic that reminds me of Tim Burton; it's impressive, as the character models and environment have a very appreciable sense of depth and the colors are quite bold, which makes me wonder how it'll look in HDR. As simple as it looks, for some reason I don't think that it'd look as good on current-gen consoles.

Your not going to see true next gen games until late 2021, which will be the same case for PS5 games. Usually early next gen games especially launch games don't utilize the full power of the console.

That's besides the point, because Dragonquest IV and Exomecha look terrible for even the PS4 and XB1. The former isn't even up to the standards of the Nintendo Switch.

I mean it makes sense. Games like Tell me Why and Battletoads will likely feature and also won't need a dedicated Series X version. Probably a couple other games I don't remember as well

There's 45-50m Xbox One owners that they want to appeal to with this show with new games for that old console.

I still think Aaron is downplaying only to surprise with lots of Series X megatons.
