He's not pissed about that, he's pissed cause she let someone in her apartment.

She might get hurt! Poor little girl. At least she has the OP there to tell her what to do.

U mad?

As a woman, yes you sound pretty controlling, OP.

Don't get me wrong, what your girlfriend did was pretty damn dumb. There is nothing wrong with telling her that. But to tell her she is not allowed to do something is pretty controlling. I don't know how you actually talked to her, but the way you're talking about her in this thread certainly doesn't sound respectful.

Also, do you pay sole rent? Is the place really yours, and you're just allowing her to stay there? If so, and you're uncomfortable with other people being allowed in your home, you should set up some ground rules with her about it.

most reasonable answer.

I didnt say she cant open the door but she should let strangers in. especially if its a man, twice her size that could easily harm her if he wanted

Oh no! Not a...man!

Men are much more likely than women to be the victims of physical assault.
Statistically, you're the one who shouldn't be opening doors when you're alone in the house, or walking to 7-11 alone at night.

She's gullible / unassertive. But you sound like just the kind of asshole who exploits those traits.

But are men more likely to be raped by creepy magazine salesmen?

Boo hoo I let auto correct on my evo choose wrong. A TYPO ON THE INTERNET OH JEEZE GUYZ

I'm not for using typos to shame people, but under what circumstances would autocorrect turn "no" into "know"? How would that happen?

Oh, and which side are you on? Am I hurting my own team, now?

OP doesn't even know which team he's on. You're in the clear.

I worked for a fundraising organisation that was a 3rd party that helped charity raise money. We operated door to door. You are the classic person that I despised the most when I worked with them.
...
We get ready to fill out the form. Before I do so, I want to make her feel comfortable by doing so. I let her know that donations are made by a bank to bank transfer to avoid government taxing. All we ask for is the account number and sort code of your bank account (not your credit card number or your security verification number) and that all we can do with that info is set up a standing order or put money into your account. To set up this standing order you need a legal binding document which is what we'll be using and something you can take to the police and your lawyers to have my ass behind bars if anything dodgy goes on (at which point I show her my passport to help her feel easy).

What? Where is this? What charity (which is usually a tax exempt non-profit) needs to dodge taxation?

Smells bad man.

I'm usually accused of being in the Order of the Knights of the White Realm.

But I'm sympathetic to him being worried.

Then I found out he's kind of a douchebag.

Now I'm just all conflicted.

He was a scammer who made up plausible-sounding lies.

Why are you not interested in this answer Centurion?

the op may or may not be making all the shit up. But that dude has been riding his ass the whole time, even before playing a detective.

all because of this

I told my GF to not let ppl into our home when i am not home and we got into a big argument.

over reaction? maybe. I could see his concerns in a "shady" part of town in an apartment. Not a fan of people just being dicks.

see that? that's called being rational.

I don't see anything wrong with what he did. If the apartment is in his name and he's paying for it, he can set the rules. If he doesn't want anyone stepping foot into his home, then that's what it is.

The top 3 goals of door-to-door "magazine salesmen" are:

1) Scope the place out to rob later.
2) Get someone to hand over cash, a check, or credit card info to buy drugs.
3) Sell magazines.
