I'm a little skeptical here
- The Kickstarter page says it was invented by a husband/wife, so unless OP is the CAD designer it doesn't make sense. OP also said his partner's family had "two cats", when the Kickstarter says it's a cat and a dog
- It's already on Amazon so people can order it/review it, so I'm not sure why the OP doesn't want to tell anyone about it.
- I suppose this person could have co-invented it and be part of the business and not want to claim any credit on the page as an inventor for some reason.

Hey, Dopeyfish, long time, brother! On a side note, I was the creator of msxbox.com which later merged with teamxbox.com. I had to step away to finish my studies, but if you recall, teamxbox sold to IGN years later. Fun times.

cheap to make and affordebal for the user, easy to use, not harmful, every household is a potential buyer of atleast 1, everyone knows how nasty pullyng out a whole string of slimy hair is.

the vast majority can be removed, in my experience. Sometimes plumbers have to get in there... to clear the clogged drain

If you don't mind sharing, I would love to know a bit more insight/detail as to how you moved from concept/idea stage to kickstarter to then getting investors on board and the patents and stuff? I have some ideas I would love to take to the market but I have no idea where to begin. I know the general steps, but the transition to each step seems vague and unknown and some insight on how it actually happens in reality would be really neat!

But honestly I remember this product actually being posted before though (few months ago?), when it was still on the indiegogo end of things, I believe. Congratulations on getting lucky, but also assume that this will be a relative one-off type affair (a 'black swan' to be precise). Invest in immediate retirement for yourself, partner, and kids, before buying anything else that you'll regret later on.
edit: reading the 'McMansion' thread it has become clear to me that I completely missed the joke there. Apologies for that.

Congrats! My Dad use to think of products all the time and sure enough 5 or 10 years later almost the exact product would be one market. We were dirt poor plus he was sick so couldn't really try and make them. I am not as imaginative as he was.. I guess it's something I need to work on.
