A little of both. It usually goes like this:Futureman said:I don't get why this topic is always on the front page. There are other shows which are way more popular that aren't always on the front page.
Is it fans of the show trying to annoy us? Or is it people like me confused as fuck always seeing this topic and then coming in with a message like mine and bumping?
or a little of both...
This is pretty much what happened to me.McNum said:A little of both. It usually goes like this:
- Person wonders why the My Little Pony thread is still there, gets curious.
- Person posts and asks why the heck it keeps being here.
- Person gets linked to one of the episodes. Person grudgingly accepts that it's an okay show.
- A couple of hours later we see a post from the same person asking "Why did I just spend several hours watching My Little Pony?!"
- Someone posts the "Welcome to the Herd" picture or the "Pull up a chair" picture. We then discuss ponies with the new bronie for half a page or two.
Then the circle repeats.
It is a genuinely good show, mind you. Good animation, good voice acting, good writing. It just happens to be about ponies.
Related, I'm probably overdue for a pony avatar myself, but I haven't found one I like. Still flying the Felicia flag for now.

Scribble said:Watched episode 3. This is a good, all-round show. Ponies don't bother me at all. It's even refreshing to have a well-written show with the 'fluffy pink sugar bunny' aesthetic.
Really, I'm thinking that the next generation of adults will have many cartoons to wax nostalgic about, despite people talking about 'the death of cartoons' or whatever. There's this, Ben 10, Sym Bionic Titan, Adventure Time, Avatar, etc.

Thanks for the feedback, I rewrote the whole thing to make it simpler and more generic.ZealousD said:Honestly, I think you make too many concessions. Just mention that rule 34 is pretty much a rule for a reason, because there really is porn for pretty much everything. As far as the show itself goes, there is absolutely nothing sexual about it.
Nope, feel free. I just edited the post I feel like I'll have to go gif hunting some more when I'm not feeling so lazy haha.RomanticHeroX said:
Is anyone using this one? If not I think I'll grab it.
Me? Hmmm probably a video game controller, or something silly like a tarot card or an origami figure. Then again it wouldn't really be up to us would it?Uchip said:how long before people discuss what their "cutie mark" would be?

'Colt Marks' would be my guess.ZealousD said:I refuse to believe that the male ponies also call them "cutie marks".

how's that?
I'm amazed at how brief some of these avatar gifs are. I just watched this episode and this bit of animation was maybe half a second. It really shows how much care goes into every moment of animation.Foxix said:Nope, feel free. Considering how seriously everyone is taking the fictional universe of infinite pony's right down to the politics, without proper clarification I could easily be labelled as one of "Them" by mistake. Someones bound to bring up that topic at somepoint if they haven't already. Giraffe4Life.DrForester said:Oh good, you pointed out that it was a troll post.....

Oh I forgot to mention. I found it interesting that Hasbro only initially insisted that Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash be included.Confused101 said:/salute

I wasn't expecting another Avatar: The Last Airbender, but I was still hoping for a bit more depth. I like the artstyle in general but it's a bit too basic, particularly the backgrounds. I don't think I can quite say I am a fan yet; I'll have to give it a few more episodes.
As everyone is quick to point out, the first two episodes are totally not an indicator of what the show is actually like.ninj4junpei said:I just finished watching the first two episodes and I liked it. I'm actually not really a big fan of "slice of life" shows. Okay, I take that back. Apparently some of my favorite anime series are considered "slice of life", as per TV Tropes. I guess I only associated the term with comedic works. Anyway, will watch more.Dai101 said:Don't worry, the 2 episode pilot are the only ones (so far) that have that episodic formula, from the 3 onwards is more like "slice of life" formula, think Azumanga Daioh but with ponies. And is FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!!

I find the bottom text hard to read, still. I think I just don't like that font.
