relatively spur of the moment. my brother wanted another tattoo and wanted to do the imperial insignia so I decided to head with him for another one and get the rebel insignia. got it black because I don't do color tattoos..

fire away GAF.

It's like one of those optical illlusions....if you look at the shape of the skin-colored part, it looks like a pair of testicles hanging off the back of your neck. StarWars testicles.

it's kinda crooked, and well not centered properly. That sucks.

Nice symbol. Not entirely original but it's still pretty cool. I would have done a red shadow behind it though.

I guess the good thing about it is that if some chick knows nothing about Star Wars, she'll just think it's some cool design or something. Why did you get it on your upper back instead of the arm?

actually it is straight.. the pic is crooked. like I said, I was thinking about getting it in red, but all of my other tattoos are solid black only. I really just don't dig color tats. though I was having a discussion with my brother that the one color tat I would get is a full comic page, panels and all, from like one of my favorite (and artistically beautiful) pages in a comic.

edit - and yes, I already have flash art on my shoulders and upper biceps and don't really dig on tattoos in plain sight that can't be hidden under business casual that can stop me from getting good paying jobs :p

I don't know wtf testicles you boys have seen in your life, but if you've seen any like that you need to head to the fucking doctor... if you've seen other pairs like that you need to ask yourself why you're looking at other testicles....

actually I stand corrected.. they do look like testicles sort of.. I was thinking of scrotum, my bad (which is occassionally and liberally substituted with the word testicles)

so yea, they might look like testicles, but I am still disappointed that is the best you fags could come up with :lol :lol :lol

eh.. it's a tattoo.. it is a symbol not a pic (which I don't do either) and it is slick on the back of my neck. it sticks up decently with a tshirt and hides with dress casual. I mean you get tattoos aside from the first one which was flash (not all of them were flash, overspoke) the rest are all meaningful to some degree.. I'm happy with how it turned out, and like others have said, aside from the occassional stupid "What does it mean?" it is just a cool tattoo that has the bonus of being apart of my favorite series of movies.. it's all good.

I was not trying to be funny just a friend telling a buddy the truth when they done something stupid

Seriously not everyone is aware of Star Wars as deeply as you think. 5 years from now ask someone what that tattoo is... Most likely they will see Testicles

smiles and cries - I will assume that is sarcasm.. the day I take anything GAF (or any internet forum) says personally or seriously (aside from my various japan travel threads) is the day I end my fucking life.

anyway, it's exactly what I printed off the net, and despite the shoddy camerawork of the wife it is actually centered and straight.. my bro got the imperial symbol with some shading in it.. his does look better than mine with the shading though it was also like almost $100 more and with going to japan in three days I probably shouldn't go dropping $250+ on a tat. I might get shading added to it after I get back (and can afford it) but the rest of my tats are all flat symbopls so it wouldn't really be my style.. though his looks nice with it.. who knows.

I think most tats look pretty dumb, but that's not bad at all. Simple, and while it's nerdy-cool it's not like Yoda fighting Dooku or something overt. Like others have said, most anyone who'd think a Star Wars tattoo was totally stupid wouldn't know it was related to SW anyway.
