My launched 360 died over a week ago, and today arrived at the service center. What's the usual turnaround on these things?

I've never seen stand-alone 360s here though, they usually come bundled with a P&C kit, extra controller and some shitty (YMMV) game. last I saw was Lost Oddessy. Don't recall the price but it wasn't possible just to buy the 360, it was cheaper than buying everything separate but extra cost if you just wanted the console and shopped around for accessories/games you actually wanted.Truespeed said:

EDIt: i just tried it and removed the 360 HDD, same problem, the consoles turns on without a screen on the TV and i get 3 constant blinking lights! so is this an HDD problem like you stated?(which i doubt) or did my 360 officially RRODed?
the pic u had of ur system is 1 red light. i had that problem with that error with my 360. i took the HDD, it worked fine
put the hdd back. same error. took it out. worked fine. changed the hdd. the machine is fine.

i'll post new pictures, i have pictures withe 3 lights and a 10 second video(if that actually help) showing the blinking and that the HDD is uninstalled.
btw, if i get the new 360 with 60GB HDD, does it included the transfer cables like the separate 120GB HDD? i'm guessing not, but just thought I'd ask anyways!

My launch day unit finally croaked, one of the last of a dieing breed. Stunned it last this long.
Well, the irony here is horrible. I have been moving around and getting set up for the last few months. Haven't used the old 360 in 2 months. Left it in working order. Packed it carefully and unpacked as soon as was possible, transport was handled well also.
Yesterday, set it up at my new place. RROD. Un-freaking-believable.
This unit was acting up anyway. Disc drive was starting to go bad. I'm tough about cleaning my discs so I know it wasn't that.

When I get this unit back I think I'm just going to go for one with HDMI and a 60 gig HDD. Hopefully I get the same unit back so I can use the transfer which is a once a year thing.

Since my second falcon xbox 360 decided to RROD on me, i went out and bought a 3rd one, this time it's the Arcade package sine i have all the extra content that comes in the Pro version, plus i didn't need the 20GB HDD since i bought a 120GB HDD separately(i needed the extra space since the fall update would allot entire game installation)
i also bought a 4000 point card and "Tales of Vesperia" that i keep hearing nothing but good things about!
i swear this is my last 360, i ain't taking this shit from MS anymore....another reason i bought it is because i have a buncha games that i still haven't finished!
btw, maybe i need a Lian Li cooling case for my 360 to avoid future RROD? (i'd like a white one)

What sort of 360 am I likely to get back if I send my launch unit in for repair in the UK? Will I get a free upgrade to a HDMI unit?

Ain't this a bitch? I had my Elite for exactly 13 months and now it's dead, but lo and behold it hasn't RROD'd, no that would be a good thing for me. The damn thing will not boot up any game past the starting intro's. yup it will just hang with no activity on a black screen. Towel it you say????

Quick question about the HDD Transfer Kit, is it anything more than a glorified memory card? As in, it only copies your saved games/content. The Licence transfer tool on the official site takes care of the important bits, correct?
If so, may just go out and get a 256mb card and move my stuff to my new 120gber instead of waiting two weeks for the kit to be sent by MS.

Do shorter cycles. Get more done in less time. Three minutes on, three minutes off. And don't put it in the freezer, that's just crazy (moisture buildup in the machine really isn't what you want). Man, it's been a fun ride. I remember Christmas 06', playing Dead Rising, Gears, Geo Warz when I got her. So sad.
Here we are 08. My baby, she lasted 2 years, and she was a pre-falcon, pre-zephre, old 90nm clunker. She really pushed hard. It's going to be a shame to get rid of her. I almost want to make a shrine to put her in and just get a new 360, but instead I'm going to target swap her for a brand new Falcon+ 60gb.
It sucks that I was -this- close to making it to Jasper. My 360 has been along the ride through 3 hardware revisions. She was a real trooper until the end and even then she wouldn't succumb to the rings. She just went retarded (fried GPU) fighting it.

Also got the Arcade package since i didn't get the extras since i have them from the RRODed XBOX, the only thing i bought extra was the over-priced 120GB HDD...with i figured I'll need since the new fall update would a lot entire game installs on the HDD. Plus hey, the white tray cover on the Arcade gives the 360 a very smooth clean look as opposed to the chrome chrome, don't you guys thinks?

I got my 2nd RROD a while back and some major mishaps have happened and i havent gotten it back in over a month now (long story)... BUT....just got back from the store with a brand new arcade 360
...Praise the man above for the xbox 360 price drop!!Here it is folks : my first xbox 360 error. Not the Ring of Death yet, but I've got a nice lower right led error, just like the one above. The console tells me error code E65. It seems the DVD drive is faulty. I've managed to open it by hand and remove the game that was in there, but no good.
It's weird, because I played Burnout Paradise two days ago without any problem.
My unit was purchased almost a year ago, and worked like a charm until now.
And this happens the night before my final exam. Great.

4th 360 just gave me RROD. This one lasted around 5 months or so. I called up and luckily got some guy in Canada. He looked at my repair history and called it "retarded". He said he would expedite the repair and supposedly the box will show up quicker. He also claimed he is putting in a request for me to be sent a new 360. He was quick to point out it wasn't set in stone, but considering my repair history he felt I should get a new one. I about cried with gratitude when he said that. I was ready for a battle of the minds to get them to offer to send me a new console, but I didn't have to do that.

Mine died yesterday for the second time. And I won't send it for repair 'cos I'm getting sick of this shit. It will die again eventually, if I go by the stories. The first time it died was when GTA4 was released. My X360 is almost 2 years old.
So I'm planning to get a new more reliable arcade sku. I already have the 20GB version. I assume I can use my HDD with the new arcade?

I'm thinking about picking up a 360 if the Jaspers are as reliable as reports are suggesting. How would one tell from looking at the box that they're picking up a Jasper?

Manufacturer Date 08-02-2006, purchased 31-3-2006.

Called MS on 04-09-2008. Gave them my name and the S/N of the console and described the problem. I was then asked if, I purchased the console 2nd hand. I advised her no, it was bought new, from HMV and that I had the box and the proof of purchase.
She asked was it bought for me, or did I purchase it my self. I advised her that it was a gift from my girlfriend.
She then asked me if the S/N I had given was correct. I advised her that, I had the console in front of me and I gave her the S/N again. She advised me that the S/N for this console had already been registered and that no warranty was given on second hand consoles.
I told her that I don't see how it has been registered because, it was new when purchased and once again advised her that I had the original receipt and box and I told her the purchase date.
She said before she could continue, I would have to email her a copy of the receipt and a photo of the S/N.
I really wanted to blow my top but, I kept calm and said ok give me the details of where to send them.
She gave me an email address and I then scanned the receipt and took a photo of the S/N and sent them off.
A few hours past and I received a call from MS from another rep, once again I was asked if I purchased the console 2nd hand. Once again I said no and advised that I had emailed them the proof of purchase and a photo.
He said he had seen them but could not see the purchase date on the receipt. I advised him where it was located. He then said ok, some one must have typed in their S/N incorrectly when registering their console and it coincides with mine.
He then changed the details so that my console was now registered to me and then proceeded to issue a repair ref number.
He sent me my UPS shipping label via email and now all I am waiting for is for UPS to come and collect my console to get sorted.
Bizarre how my console was registered but, I suppose it hasn't been the 1st time.
Think my console has been ready to die for a while. CD draw won't always eject and the machine has reported read errors and froze for no reason a few times over the last few months.
So now I just have to wait a few weeks to get my console back.
At least I have a chance to finish a few games that I have on my PS3.

Was happily playing through Lego Indy when it crashed....then again.....and again. Then the 360 hung on boot-up twice, now its just RRODing on me.
I'll try again later tonight and perhaps tomorrow to see if its a 'temporary' RROD but I've tried two power bricks and a couple of wall sockets and nothing.

I don't think smacking the crap into it is going to help much. This 360 is no more. It has ceased to be. Bereft of life it flashes red.
Now, phone up or do the online repair agent thingy.... I'd feel better talking to a real person, even if they are 5,000 miles away.
So this happen about 3-4 weeks ago, my memory is a little fuzzy so bare with me. When I was playing NFL Head Coach my picture started to get fuzzy (red lines?) and I tried reconnecting the cable but it still kept happening. I got frustrated and turned off the system. I went back to school that weekend and haven't turned my 360 on in till a couple of days ago. When I turn it on the 360 turns on fine (seems to load the game, no red rings), but I get no picture; it's just black. I figured maybe my component cables were broken but it doesnt work on my VGA cables either.
Is this covered by the 3 year warranty?
I kind of wish I checked this out sooner because now I wont be able to play Rock Band 2 when it comes out. :-\

Got my shipping label.... why on earth am I sending this to Germany to be fixed?
