seriously. I've had a broken 360 sitting in my room for about a year now, I didnt send it off simply because I had a working 360 and didnt want to faff around with the shitty customer service unless it was 100% necessary.. i guess it is now..
 
Oh fuckin great. Not mine but my friend's 360 that's been at my place for awhile has finally died. The DVD drive was starting to die already but I just got the dreaded RROD. It's only lasted around a year since he got it since say Halo 3 came out. Is the warranty dead by now? Shit I still can't believe this just happened.

RRoD is 3 years from your purchase date. You are fine.
 
Man, MS repair system is pretty sophisticated, but they still cock everything up.

Got an email that they had received my console. Got an email that repairs were finished. Then get an email that says they never got my console. Then I call and "Max" (fuck you) says it's been repaired and shipped.

WTF MS. How bout you just tell me the fucking tracking number and stop fucking up.
 
Wow I'm pissed.

I got my HDD repair package from MS today. I was surprised how quickly it got here.

When I opened it, I realized they sent me a normal 20GB hard drive. I sent in an elite 120GB black hard drive for repair. Nice one guys.

They better not make me pay for shipping again. Unbelievable.

This just happened to me too. I was able to track the shipment on the repair status site until I got that e-mail, then the tracking info disappeared. I got enough info to know when it will come though.
 
Geez, is Microsoft's system really bad lately? All I'm waiting for is the damn shipping label to be sent to my email! You can check the label if ur in the US on the website yet you can't if your in Canada?! It's been 4 days since and I've called waiting according to the instructions and now they've got to cancel my request and re-initiate another one. Joy, more waiting.

I got mine within an hour or two.

9 days from the date they shipped off the repaired console back to me (Monday)...after I'd been promised from my initial opening of the repair that I would receive expedited overnight shipping.

Package has been sitting in a UPS facility less than 15 miles from me since 5 AM on Wednesday. I won't receive it until Tuesday evening.

I'd be lucky if I weren't screwed.

To add to the comedy, for all of the problems I had, I asked for a 60/120GB hard drive. Of course, that was probably crazy talk, so I ended up settling with Viva Pinata (my third copy) and a wireless controller.

Both get here today...except there's one problem:

They sent me a fucking wired controller :lol

I thought they wouldn't believe me (especially after I called and got a migration kit an hour before I got my mail...I ashamedly feel like I should have them on speed dial), but they were cool about it and are sending me a wireless controller now.

Guess I get to keep the wired :D
 
Shit at least they are hooking you up that much.

Man my harddrive won't get there until Tuesday either and I shipped it on Monday :(. What a bunch of shit. Feels like i've been waiting forever now.
 
..I'm still waiting for the damn stupid label to ship the damn 360 to them. This is ridiculous! I'm going to end up buying another one at the speed their working to send me the thing.

So my 360 just died while playing the dead space demo for the first time. What a bitch! fuck you EA!! (Im kidding)

Well i gotta say im not really mad in the least seeing as this was bound to happen. I chose to do the xbox.com route and ask for a repair from the site and chose standard with label since i dont have any working printers, But when im on the repair status screen they mention a e-mail will be coming to me so i can print out a label? Im not fucked am I? :lol

Edit: My system was a near launch system(April 06). Kept thinking i would have one of the few that mite survive.....

They degraded your hard drive? Wow. I thought you were suppose to remove your HD before you sent it off to prevent loss of saved data? They don't recover that for you?
 
Now that the Jasper models are starting to appear I wonder if MS will soon start asking for PSUs to be returned with broken consoles or if they'll just send a new one with the replacement leaving you with a useless 175W one.
 
I got 3 red lights on a refurbished 20GB Pro console from Microsoft. Manufacture date 2006-09-22.

Repair box shipped to me from Nevada: Nov 19th
Repair box arrived at my door in California: Nov 20th
Console shipped by me to Texas: Nov 20th
Console received by Microsoft in Texas: Nov 26th
Console repair complete by Microsoft: Nov 27th
Console shipped back to me: ...? No notice yet.

I'll let everyone know what I receive back. It was a 20GB Pro console with no HDMI.

He lives in Canada so it shouldn't be. I found it much simpler to just buy a $5 box at UPS.

Same thing happened to me. I wound up getting a voicemail from UPS with the tracking number instead of an email.

I finally got my 360 back but they sent me an arcade version with the white drive cover instead of a pro with the chrome. Kinda lame, but at this point I'm just glad I got the system back.

Woot. My 360 died again. :lol A little over month since the first RROD and I hope when I get it back this time it doesn't ring again or else I'm buying a new fucking system.

Yeah. It's been a week. I am thinking that might be a much better option. The phone line automation says "wait 10-15 business days"
 
I sent my complaint into the BBB today. Just figured I might have an outside chance at getting something back for this shit service. I requested a complete refund for the current worth of the product at retail..doubt that's going to happen though. I'd be happy with a wireless headset and a controller or something though.

I'll be sending complaints every single time this happens from now on. Not sure what it'll do, but I've got to respond in some way to this bullshit.
 
Ok thinking about it I really shouldn't have been sold a Zephyr a week ago considering Falcons have been out for a while now (stupid EB). I am starting to get a little worried that it might RROD and I will have to go through the RROD>Refurb>RROD>Refurb cycle.


Does anyone who works at EB here know if they will exchange it? I'm not sure "its a Zephyr and not a Falcon" counts as a valid reason, considering my Zephyr works fine (for now).

What about returning it to MS? Will I be guaranteed a falcon or not?

Got my Xbox back finally (fucking thanksgiving). And... it was made 2006-08-16 and says Xenon on the box... :-( Doesn't look like I got Opus as no new power supply came with it.

On the plus side the case looks brand spanking new. Perfectly clean and scratch free. And, most of all, it has a much, much quieter drive. It's got a smooth tray so I think it's a Phillips.
 
My 360 RROD'd today. I can't send it back to Microsoft, so I did the next best thing: I fixed it. I opened it up, took apart the heatsink, cleaned the GPU and applied thermal compound/gel to it. Closed it back, turned it on, let it overheat again to re-solder itself and now it works like a charm.

I thought newer 360s worked with older power supplies, but not vice versa. They just add new little keys to the new power supplies so they won't plug into the older 360s.

I just did the inductor check and it's definitely a Xenon.

However, it does have the added GPU heatpipe. Which, frankly, is far more important to preventing RROD than a 65nm CPU.

So even though MS didn't give me an Opus, I'm pretty satisfied with the received console. Good case, great DVD, new heatpipe, reset warranty. We're even MS.

Oh and I asked the UPS delivery guy how many he had seen and he said "hundreds and hundreds" and this is in a town of 70,000. :lol

Edit: oh and the DVD drive is the BenQ version, not Phillips.
 
So i requested my system to be repaired from there Online side and ive still yet to recieve a box with a shipping label and its been 6 days (Saturday being 1 week). WTF!!!!!

So much for implementing a way to get your system repaired without calling them when they just outright ignore repairs requested online. On the repair status section all they said is my Box/label is being processed or some shit(Been saying this the whole time). fucking week for a box MS?

I need my 360 fix soon :(

I used online and got the box in 4 days. Thanksgiving may be seriously fucking the shipments up. My return Xbox took over a week from ship to reach my door.

Also MS gave me a tracking number for the box (but not the return :lol) so you should be able to see where it is.
 
Don't know it took about nine days to ship my 360 and to get it back... (I wonder if it would have been shorter if I didn't send it right before Thanksgiving... :lol ) But they gave me a replacement instead (no HDMI port.) It makes less noise compared to the one I sent in.. so I can be mad about that...

Just had my Elite (mfr date early 2007) red ring on me. My second broken 360, this one lasted even less time than my launch unit.

Really annoying, had been waiting for my friend to get his 360 back from repair to play some Left4Dead\Gears 2 co-op and as soon as he gets his back, mine dies.
