DAMMIT!

I was literally just in the middle of making my FIRST thread and this was the topic, but with a poll. (2 hours of amateur work :messenger_crying:)

Sad to see I'm late to the party, but make this bump will bring new life!

I'm an INTJ-T. I'm the passive version. :^\

I've taken multiple tests and the results are consistent. I'm also done research and seen examples. The behaviors are consistent with what I've done throughout my life, so I'm convinced the result is accurate.

There are also informative and entertaining youtube channels on the subject:

Love Who

AsuraPsych

I'm expecting mostly introverts, on this forum.

May have already been posted, but you can also take a another version of the test at 16 Personalities.

Come on people. What are ya

Sorry m8

INFP and it pisses me off tbh

Seems like some pretty bogus ass traits to have as a dude

You aight bruh

So I redid it now and got INFJ, in 9th grade I had INTJ and now in 12th it's INFJ. Let's see how I change in few years.

OLD:

NEW:

INTJs and INFJs are not too different.

I know an INFJ and it's funny because I rely more thinking about situations, while he relies more on what he feels.
Since I usually suppress my feelings, i tend to be rough edged when communicating with others, while he is sensitive and soft. But we'd get along very well and understand each other.

So it's not too surprising that you may teeter one to the other, from time to time.

I view these tests to be good but imperfect assessments. Myers-Briggs in particular does a good job of generally assessing a person's temperament and provides a good starting point for introspection. When you begin to get granular they can be constraining but a good starting point nevertheless.I've taken this test over a dozen times as a result of various leadership initiatives that I have participated in.

My result is always INTJ.

I'm always interested in how these personality types translate to relationships. They can be very useful for understanding other people around you. I/E is always a close call but I lean towards I. I've never met a stranger and I'm usually the one in my friend group organizing social events. That said, I need to balance it with time spent alone so that I can think, hence the "I" being the more dominant trait for me. The one thing I value most in relationships is intellectual depth. I find it incredibly difficult to connect with people who aren't introspective and thinking about tough questions simply because I find them boring, though it is through no fault of their own. I always work best and find the most meaning in relationships with others who think deeply. I find INTJ and similar personality types are quick to identify underlying problems in any given situation long before others do; it is cathartic to connect with others who have also identified the same problems and absolutely frustrating to speak with those who haven't. All in all, a rather fair assessment of how I approach people.
My housemate is an INTJ-A, so it's no wonder we get along so well. We talk about politics(social/government), and the nature of people, almost all the time. We also talk about self improvement in different areas. I am extremely lucky to have him in my life. He's practically the father I didn't get to have (same age as my father). So a mentor.

Point is. People tend to do well with like minded people, as far as general friendship goes.

There are "studies" or theories about which types pair best with each other, in regards to friendships and intimate relationships.

Example:

The ENTP + INTJ are said to most likely form a strong friendship. I've yet to meet an ENTP to test that.

While for intimacy, the ENFP + INTJ would be most likely match, under the rule of opposites attract.
I'd find it hard to believe, but I admit seeing (whom I believe are) ENFPs does in fact activate an intense attraction, from within me. I describe this as the ENFP being the light in a world of darkness, while the INTJ is the mystery/secret that must be solved/revealed, to the ENFP.

Of course these connections would only work if both parties shared similar interests, to begin with.

What pairs with ENTJ? I’m a pretty strong ENTJ. Also I don’t know what these new fangled -A and -T extensions mean.

For intimate relations it would most likely be the INTP (the "nerd" or the science/computer oriented person), due to the general high fortitude of intelligence, in regards to fine details.

So if you like some one whom you rather be able to understand and solve issues on a detailed level, them maybe they're best for you. :^) But really it's up to what you think about that.

Technically we can all engage in intimacy and friendship with all types, but these are just the most likely pairs, with the least natural resistance.

If you can stomach listening to a robotic voice for 14 minutes, this video might help.:

EDIT: Oh and the A = Assertive, while T = Turbulent

How do you qualify A or T

Assertive. Basically someone who is very sure of themselves what they believe and doesn't easily back down, without a conflict. My roommate is like this, but since I am Turbulent, even if I don't agree with him and feel that I am in the right, I will still avoid escalating the situation.

Turbulent. More skeptical of situations/ideas, requires more convincing to garner confidence in following through/engaging with something. I don't rushing into ANYTHING without first evaluating the situation, so this is where I fit.

Which one do you think you fit into?

Yeah I hate conflict. Definitely not an A. Nope, that’s not me.

Taking that into account, then it would make more sense that your SO is an INFJ. They are VERY easy to get along with and generally more laid back (at least in my experience).

Of course I'm assuming the both of you get along, well. :^)

I went from INTP four years ago to INTJ now.
It interests me that it changed since I wouldn't be able to differentiate the me four years ago and me now.

ISTJ. Apparently we are robots. Which is somewhat true. Deep down I crave efficiency and predictability, but my outward personality is much more outgoing than my inner self.

INTP: The Thinker. Not quite the special snowflake that is the INTJ

One of the reasons I like GAF so much: It lets me hop into a thread on a specific subject and give me time to consider my input before contributing, without the conversation having moved on like in real-life conversations.

I typically want to slow down and really analyze a topic, but most people will happily hit the surface-level and move on to the next thing. If one thing's changed as I've gotten older, it's realizing that that's fine and not trying to force people to meet me on my level.

I'm ENFJ but I think people really undersell the "principled" aspect. Maybe we start out life all optimistic and warm and fuzzy, but as you get older and experience more injustices and see more people being too much of a bitch to do anything about it and see everyone worse off for it, you start hardlining more for the sake of people. Not that I demand people change to be like me, but I just don't put up with bullshit for sake of a fake external harmony while everyone is miserable like an -NFP would.

Many, many unpleasant aspects of life aren't just "Well, that's life, nothing you can do" but rather they are actively caused by our choices and there is a fuckton we can do about it if we bother facing it realistically and hashing out our different wants and respects. I've seen the good fruit of it in all my workplaces. So because I have a natural care for people, I can end up not caring about their baseless feelings when it is making them lazy in their thinking/relating and causing everyone around them and themselves to suffer needlessly and I will talk about it.

My approach is generally to show people what they are choosing to be and let them choose for themselves what to do. I'm not going to say they have to do this or that, just help them understand what will result from what. If they decide to be a piece of shit, I'm probably gonna stay clear of the mess. I don't like to control, fight, be in denial, or run away, I just like to be a light and a mirror and let decisions be made in individual freedoms. You don't see that on ENFJ profiles but I know plenty of other ENFJs who are like this.

INFP. I'm a pianist and actor and I always get max stats for the F (Feeling) section whenever I do this test. I'm emo and sensitive asf. lol
