Mysterious massive drones scattered all over in New Jersey and Pennsylvania over the past week or so. No local officials or FBI knows what's going on.

DragoonKain

Neighbours from Hell

They are NOT planes, but they're quite big for drones. They circle in specific areas, sometimes for hours and eventually go dark. I live in PA and so far no one knows what they are or who's controlling them. Local officials have ruled out foreign controlled(or so they say). But they're all over the place and often in flocks, so it's not one random guy who has somehow gotten hold of a non commercial drone to fly around.

The biggest theory so far is it's US military related and some type of a covert operation of some sort to test new technology.

I’ve been following this since the activity over RAF Lakenheath in the UK a few weeks ago. The way it has (read hasn’t) been handled by the govt is utterly bizarre.

Is it illegal to lase a drone? I'd obviously NEVER do this but I'm curious....for a friend :p

Though where I live we have other ways to deter low flying loiters....

It's totally unfair to this lady because it's mostly the lighting and that haircut versus how she normally looks, but DAMN, she looks like she was made using the Dragon Age Veilguard character generator :p

Seems to me it's gonna be up to some private citizen to have his drone intercept and record, if not crash into to disable, one of these things so we can get whatever company is testing these things to admit it. Probably amazon with a drone delivery service but they are gonna have to find a way to make these things identifiable with a smart phone or something in order for folks to not freak out when one goes overhead, 'cause otherwise folks will ABSOLUTELY use delivery drones as top cover for spying on people.

It's illegal to shoot down a drone, so dont do that :). Comercial and consumer drones are already required to have remote id, which you can download one of the many apps on your smart phone right now to check it out.

When Amazon or UPS are testing delivery drones, you will see the area show up as a drotam on SkyVector, so it's not that. It pretty much has to be US military. A foreign military wouldn't have the beacon lights on.

I did see this in New Jersey, which I haven't personally seen a restricted air space be so narrow. (The purple circle is a drotam, btw)

But if they are illegally flying a drone over my house and I send up my drone to check it out and they just happen to bump into each other....who is at fault? How much longer until there are anti-drone drones you can buy to patrol your "own" airspace? I bet the rich folks will get approval from the FAA or whatever to have "drone denial" capability in their 'hoods waaaaaaaaaay before us filthy normies get it :p How high up can I go over my own house?

There’s nothing particularly special about these drones. I mean they are brightly lit lol

The military probably testing their drone response, maybe hired a 3rd party to fuck around near a base and see what their response is and their capability to track them down when they fly off.

There is no such thing as illegally flying over your house. There is a permanent easement above ground level that is controlled by the FAA. Many cities and states have tried to make their own laws about that, but they have all failed. Locally, they can really only control where you take off and land from. You do have some recourse if you can show that they are invading your privacy, like hovering outside a window or pool, but if it is just a flyover, there isn't much you can do.

400 feet above ground level is the limit if you are a rec flier, 400 feet above the highest obstacle if you go for your part 107 cert. (I only have a part 107 and not a full manned aircraft pilot license)

Huh, so if a non-FAA sanctioned drone is flying overhead and I knock it out with another non-FAA approved drone, if it lands on my property it's now mine? Heh heh, of course not :p

This is one of those things where the government cites control, but then lacks any ability to actually exert control except on the most law abiding. What if I raise up a bunch of balloons, still tethered to the ground, that just so happen to have a net between them? Probably these days most drones have enough visual sensor acuity and operator dexterity to avoid such things but I wonder if an automated drone would....

Alas, the days of nude sunbathing at my own pool are over :(

basically, same rules as messing with a manned helicopter. The balloon thing might work, depending on your state, though....

When i see govt saying shit like 'we dont know what it is' tells me that they do know and they are hiding something.

There is no way they dont see all of this shit. FAA would be all over this. Jets would be getting scrambled. They know. They just wont tell us to reduce panic.

"They don't know" which we all know is bullshit.

"Car sized drones" - you mean helicopters?

The last few weeks places such as Reddit have completely blown up with posts of "aliens!!!", most are just airplanes and helis, for some reason there is a lot of bot activity going on atm trying to push the agenda that the reveal is here. It isn't true, it is explainable and it is all manmade stuff.

Tons of manufacturers have just this year made a whole slew of new airframes. But, mainly, the poorly shot videos are clearly airplanes taking off and landing at various airports, for some reason, bots have taken the stuff and is running with it.

But, nope, it's aliens, and the big reveal is here!! C'mon guys.

Latest attempt I saw is from a Israel training video with AA firing airbursts at flares, from 2023, it is named "Israel attempts to take down a UAP but fails"..... This video is oooooooold:

Here is another good one:

You can very clearly see in the first half of the video that these are illumination flares. The parachute is visible at the top, sparks are dropping down due to the magnesium fire, the center appears like a giant orb because said magnesium fire is putting out a ton of light.

When you get enough ruckus online, news agencies will pick it up:

Here are some of todays high quality attempts:

Seriously guys, it is getting to be rather silly.

I see those big drone shows and all I can think of is a grenade strapped to each one swarming over the crowd.
It's not a nice show to enjoy, it's horrifying to me.

Sure lets test our military tech above populated cities.
Wouldn’t be the first time by a long shot.

I grew up like 10 minutes from the military base there. Nobody ever knew what went on or what happened there. It was just like, there. They do lots of research so hush hush. You tell me weird drones are flying in the area and yea it’s obviously the feds testing shit out of picatinny arsenal.

Meh. 99 percent sure it’s government testing stuff. I don’t believe a word they say and none of us should. If they were foreign they’d 100 percent be dealt with. The idea that we’d be unable to catch them or that it’s some new technology we don’t know how to deal with is a hilarious thought. NJ Resident btw.

Seriously, don't mess with airspace.

It does sound like fun, to take things like this down, but let it remain a fantasy.

It's hard to believe that in these times of everyone having 10x zooms on their phones, and a bunch of hobbyists with expensive cameras, lenses, telescopes, and drones of their own, that we don't get better images & footage than these potato quality crap. SMH.

Liljagare Liljagare : great post.. spent a lot of time online the last 25 years debunking people's random stuff about aliens/ufo's and it's crazy how much hysteria can be made out of.. lights in the sky.

Looking up at the sky at night and trying to judge size/distance based on some lights you are seeing and maybe some sound... do you know if you are looking at drone 400 feet in the air? Or are you looking at a helicopter 1,000 feet in the air? How can the average random person who has heard stories of drones in the sky even accurately know for sure?

Hell an experienced pilot can have seen "unexplained" things that have a perfectly normal explanation, as has been proven loads of times.

Oh my what a juicy subject/phenomenon.
Let's stay on the save side; practice run for new surveillance drones?

There's a huge central police station a rockstone aways and on my way to work you pass their training place. Saw them got some drone course some months ago. Tiny ones tho. Yeah let's leave it at that.
