im going to make nachos this week and ive never made them before

i know theyre easy to make but im not sure which route i should take

a blend of re fried beans and beef or have them separated?

is is okay to just pop them in the microwave to melt the cheese or is it necessary to put them under the broiler?

how do you do yours?

heat then beans then toss the cooked beef in there.

jalepenos, avocado, chihuahua cheese, sour cream, green onions, black olives

and diced tomatoes if you like those

I prefer steak or chicken to beef on my nachos

don't microwave anything don't ruin your nachos.

And why would I want them?
I ate some 7-11 Nachos last week. I can't be doing that shit no more, not at my age. I do love Nachos though.

Posting a nacho thread with a picture of Taco Bell looking ass nachos is the equivalent of starting a pizza thread with a picture of Little Caesars.

so many ways you can go about it. I have had every kind of nacho that you can think of. The one thing I feel absolutely ruins them is actually beans. If you stay away from beans, your nachos will come out fine.

Does not matter if you use shredded cheese or processed goop. Just don't add beans.

Precook chicken or ground beef with taco mix then put on cheese and meat and retried beans on chips. Then set oven to broil and cook till cheese melts. Take out and add sour cream, guacamole, salsa, slices jalapeños and olives then serve immediately.

Because your beans are going to get cold and ruin your nachos.

DON'T ADD BEANS!

Pretty spot-on to my go-to "generic" nacho - I leave off the salsa though, IMO it's just one thing too much and sogs up the joint quickly.Beans are optional - as has been said, there are many ways to do the nacho - when I do have refried beans I use them as the base everything else goes on top of. Guac is also optional for the generic nacho, though when I make carne asada nachos it is essential, in which case I also leave off the olives.

I wouldn't use beans personally.

Basic pointers:
Use chorizo for the meat.
Cook in the oven.
Serve with salsa and guac.

My man.

I like to do them Alton Brown's way, each chip separated on a wire rack. Top them with chorizo, chihuahua cheese. Bake until hot and melty. Serve with homemade salsa and guacamole, maybe some crema and thin slices jalapeños.

That sounds pretty intensive. But I do put a flat layer, cover it with toppings, then put another flat layer and more toppings. that way every chip(or at least 90%) will have toppings.

Nachos are my favorite meal. Layer like this (read from the bottom up) :

===================================

lil more cheese on top and on the sides

gauc and/or sour cream in the center

jalapenos

olives

tomatoes

queso / white cheese / melted cheese / you can't fuck this layer up it's all good

Taco beef or Fajita chicken

Black beans

Chips

This man has knowledge. Follow him. El Salvadorian chorizo is the truth.

If you let it sit. The nice part of the broil method is that you can divide the chips to have beans or not but most of the peeps in know like the refried beans. They last about 15 minutes.

Who are these people? Beans to me is a no go. If you use them, have them on the side.

Honestly, whenever I make nachos at home, I just cook beef with taco seasoning, put some tortilla chips on the baking sheet, smother those bad boys in pepper jack or cheddar and throw some of that meat on there, and they're freaking delicious. Maybe it's that I had my wisdom teeth out yesterday and can only eat liquids, but I want those so badly right now.
