IGA is just a game director. I am sure he has cool ideas for gameplay and game direction but he is not involved in the graphics of a game. The same goes for Kojima. The masters at Konami are those guys nobody knows about: the programmers

.
What I was saying is that is an error to use IGA as the producer of games like this because he obviouslly could be working on more hardcore projects. The thing is: Has Konami decided to go mainstream only ?
32 bits era: Parodius, Suikoden, Gradius Gaiden, SOTN...Well, I think they did a lot of 2D stuff. Namco for instance took a completelly opposite direction. But this gen they have kicked all of this out of the home systems and that's something I really don't like.
Don't tell me this: "If you want a 2D vania play the GBA ones".
Despite the fact that I already played all the GBA vanias and beat them, I have to say that they are nowhere near to the quality of SOTN (AOS is a very good game but the low budget spend on it is pretty evident). SOTN was a much more polished title.
And now with the DS one, this feeling is much more evident. I feel like if Konami was trying to cheat me. For the first time in years, the DS vania is a title that leaves me totally indifferent. Perhaps I have AOS too recent in my mind (although bought it and beat it at launch) but the fact is that I find the game pretty poor...
Who knows...But to see those things from Konami makes me very sad.
