He already knew since around the time Sasuke showed up to the war that he was going to pull something like that.
It makes no sense to assume that Naruto at this moment doesn't intend to kill him.

One can hope, imagine the fans if that happened and naruto gave up his dream. All the people saying they give up on the manga cant actually do that because it would be the ending, there would be nothing to give up.

Kishi barely knows anything about the Western Fandom. The Japanese are all he's interested in.
That sucks to because isn't Naruto more popular in West. I don't know about Europe, but I know One Piece shits on Naruto in Japan in sells.

That makes sense, but still don't feel like Naruto thinks he has a chance at being redeemed/JnJ'd at this point. Not really because he doesn't want to, but because he doesn't really think it's possible anymore. This is where I get confused on the matter. Just killing him straight up wont end the cycle, and I think Naruto knows that. I also think he thinks that's impossible right now.

A. Never back bitted him (Do you remember that?..... Early in the series Sakura back talked about Naruto to Sasuke which pissed Sasuke off)
B. Didn't have a shallow love for him (OH man Sasuke-kun! He is sooooo handsome)
C. Straightened him out when he was about to leave his beliefs and morals (Like this War Arc scenario)
D. Tries to defend him when no one else went in
and more you'd just look....
Sure Sakura changed her personality to Naruto and is really close to him currently.... BUT she does not love him.... She loves Sasuke and Naruto knows that... I know that... Kishi knows that... a random logical person knows that... but do you know it?.... nope
