So what exactly is the delay at this point? High winds?

The team is reporting alarms on two liquid oxygen fill and drain valves not reading fully closed.

Launch team members will be doing a series of cycle tests on all fill and drain valves of the Common Booster Cores.

The cycle tests worked on the liquid oxygen valves. But the hydrogen valves on the port and core boosters are still being looked at.

Further troubleshooting is underway by slightly pressurizing the liquid hydrogen tanks of each Common Booster Core and cycling the fill and drain valves.

Fill and drain valves not working. They are going to refill the tanks and try one last time again.
No make space rocket go today?
Probably not, but delays happen all the time in rocketry. Launch targets are listed as "no-earlier-than"

What do you mean nothing happens?

Lock at that shit, action packed!

p.s.
It's probably just me, but it looks like we're flipping the bird to space.
Fuck you space! we're going to make you our bitch!!

I find this gif mesmerizing.

Isn't that literally the last minute of the launch window? I'm guessing it's just a "In case they figure out the fuel tank valves we'll have a last-minute launch scheduled" thing.

Thank goodness, finally scrubbed for today. Time to attempt to sleep. Next attempt tomorrow at the same original time, 7:05 a.m. EST.

I'm a few miles away from the cape so going to step outside in a few to see how this one goes...

EDIT: there is always tomorrow.....

Came to see if they made it off the ground, left disappointed.

Even in 55 years, putting stuff even a few hundred miles up is hard. I hope to live to see the day when actual space travel isn't hindered by things like wind and weather windows.

so are we able to watch this live stream when it launches? i need something that i can put some faith into because anything that is able to escape dreaded earth is luck as hell

Well that's disappointing. This should be a fairly routine test. A couple of high orbits for a capsule sounds so 1960's Mercury Program. 3600 miles ain't no big deal.

It was, and there was a fault. You can run simulations all day, but you won't know if you have a mechanical problem until you put it all together and test it. Their pre launch checks worked flawlessly. The issue was discovered and they didn't launch a rocket that could have met a catastrophic end when they tried to cycle the O2.

As far as I can tell, it's go to attempt at 7:05 a.m. EST again? Was there an actual fix to the valves or are they just hoping for the best?

Yeah, they're attempting for the same time today. The park is noticeably emptier. Last I heard they were still working on the valves, but that was at some point yesterday. I'm hoping for the best, though!
