"No one would have believed, in the last years of the 21 century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No one could have dreamed that we were being scrutinized as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets. And yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely, they drew their plans against us. "

My favorite book!

I just want to say that watching both the JPL livestream and the 3D simulator simultaneously with Mass Effect music playing in the background provided quite the bad-ass viewing experience.

Btw, Australia says 'you're welcome' for providing the main tracking station for the landing.

Hell yeah! Great movie about the station in Australia back in the Apollo days

I've never had a day at work where I was this happy. I should have applied for a job at NASA damnit. Plus they get free peanuts.

1kg of fuel left before it landed. Apart landed perfectly still and only a couple degrees off center. Did I get that right?

Isn't it? It is amazing we landed a small car NOT an Escalade SUV on the planet.

This thing we just landed was huge. The whole rocket pack thing is just insane. I was SOOOO hoping it was successful and now I can go to bed a happy man.

Totally blown away.
