Power and bandwidth constraints
Mars is on average 225,000,000 km away from Earth.
Too bad Congress will probably slash their budget again.
Yes, but failure rate is very high
This landing was soooo much more difficult than any other because of how big and heavy this rover is
I am super impressed
Curiosity is such a hipster.you know whats crazy the fact that when people celebrated curiosity's landing, it had already been sitting on the surface of mars for 12 minutes.
So does that mean it's not going to get any better, or is it going to send hi-res pics but they're just going to take longer to get here?
Mother fucking sky crane.
Lol.Is that a pyramid in the distance? :O
Well worth it IMOThe mission costs $2.5 billion.
WHAT IS THAT WORM LOOKING THING?!?!?!
What is that in the horizon :O
Nuclear powered
Seriously ... the people in here going 256x256 need to realize how difficult the challenge of landing something like this was. This was a lot of years of work. I'm sure for a lot of people this was their life's project. The amount of things that could have gone wrong. It's just incredible.
What is that in the horizon :O

how did Odyssey manage a pic of the wheel?
I wonder how much an actual manned mission would cost?Well worth it IMO
You hear the one guy? "8 years of tension"

Another perfect landing from the US of A.
Hey guys. It has a couple of 2 megapixel cameras in it. When it's fully operational, we'll get 1024x1024 pictures.
We can't get any more pictures because the relay (The Artificial satellite we put there, which is also amazing) is below the horizon now.
