Not as good as 5 ot 6 but yes. 5 for sure ranks as one of my all time favorite movie going experiences. I just couldn't believe how far that series had come.

So true, you can often apply the same to some video games.
I feel fortunate I was able to survive succumbing to hype aversion with this film, between the super praise around GAF and my own friends busting their nuts over it I was expecting the hype backlash effect to take hold.
Fortunately I did find it pretty fun when I eventually got around to seeing it the other month so there we go.

300 and the original Transformers are movies that I think got retroactive hate. 300 got it because Snyder's output since then has honestly declined a bit IMHO, and the first Bayformers movie was fun but holy fuck the sequels brought it down

I gave it a 7 on IMDB. I get bored with action sequences in movies, but it rarely bored. Good movie.

No doubt buuddy. There's a kinda 3 way jealously between Hunter, Rock, and Austin. But it's not what you think, it's more of Hunter being jealous of Austin and Rock. It explains why he tried to keep that relevance for so long but it did nothing. No matter how many times he held that title, it just didn't draw like the other two.
Those movies are great. To this day I can still watch and enjoy Transformers 1.
It's the ones that came after that are fucking unwatchable horse shit.
I'm trying to control my excitement going into Force Awakens because I know they'll never be able to reach my unrealistic expectations with that one, but here's hoping it's at least pretty good and not complete shit like the prequels.
This is me. It has to be, like, 2001 or Alien or something for me to re-watch.
