This is exciting news but I have mixed feelings because the second half of Oblivion (the Oblivion Gates quests) is probably the worst story segment out of any of the Elder Scroll games. I wonder if this is going to just be a graphical update or whether they will actually change some gameplay elements so that part of the game isn't such a snoozefest.

Hmm, i wonder what will look better this or the Fan made remake?
Visually, of course, a remake on Unreal 5. Technically and from a mechanics point of view, it is most likely a fan remake, since you have access not only to modifications of the remake itself from fans, but also a huge library of Nexus mods, which you can put on top of this fan remake.

A lot of people say their school suffered cause of WoW, but for me it was Oblivion. I put some crazy hours into this game.
Having said that, it was jank, just super jank. If you were to play it today, you would either be extremely amused or annoyed by it breaking constantly in some way.
If it's a full on remake, they sure have their work cut out for them.

All the things I wish they would fix include:
Super wonky AI.
A radiant dialogue system between NPCs that is bunch of nonsense almost always.
You having to follow NPCs during certain quests as they walk super slow and might get mauled an killed by a random enemy along the way.
The entire game being voiced by 10 people.
The combat feeling like you swing around a wet noodle.
An enemy scaling system where at higher levels a normal goblin takes 15 minutes to kill.
A level up system where too many things can break, such as stacking the athletics skill to the point that either the game crashes or your character just dies from a "fall".

Or they could just give it a face lift and let everyone suffer through it as it is.

Would need a significant glow up

I wonder if this is evidence that Bethesda is moving over to UE5 instead of their engine? Seems to be a trend with MGS
