It was always both the bone bruise and a sprain. The news is that there isn't a tear. This is still a pretty serious injury. Durant probably won't be 100% until next season.

Will be interesting to see if he can be effective in the playoffs. This is a more severe sprain than the one Curry rushed back from, but Curry only had two weeks. KD has about two months until round 2 of the playoffs.

Biggest problem in the short term is that San Antonio now has a clearer path to the 1 seed.
