Now the team calls EVERY single play and you have to follow the play calling to the T or else the point guard just sits there and dribbles the ball until time runs out. The plays don't just develop based off what you were doing like before.
Worst of all, there is no way to turn this option off. I'm definitely deleting my 360's cache so I can play 2k11 unpatched.
Thinking of clearing my cache so I can play it unpatched in the meantime. If I run into the Rookie of the Year bug, I'll just repatch, get the achievement to register, then clear the cache again.pilonv1 said:It's fucking terrible. I can't even get a touch now with my C, and I was averaging 20ppg before. I loved this mode before the patch, now it's impossible to play.

-Any recommended settings for season? Keep in mind I suck at the game and likely always will. Tried to play with the defaults but the final scores were like 45-27.
-Any way to get a handle on how to play the game generally. There is the one practice tutorial that sort of goes through the shots and the moves, but nothing about passing or defense that I have found.
When you have the aggressive D thing going on, it keeps you focused on your man. This way it's easier to keep your body in front.AstroLad said:Are you generally supposed to hold L2 when you're playing D? That's just a habit I have from FIFA as that's the square-up button there but it seems it's "aggressive D" here or something though I have no idea exactly what that means.

The play calling actually causes the offense to flow better for me. I have a sg and a pf. If you have an opening you can break off the play and the cpu usually gets you the ball.ph33nix said:I'm a center in my player and at first I didn't like the whole playcalling thing but I actually don't mind it as much now, its more sim. once you learn what plays you run you can find different ways to get in scoring positions/rebounding
and the media just asked me what I think about my playing time...I said to answer arrogant and my dude goes on about how he isn't pleased with being played more and that its obvious when he plays, the team does better:lol
if you get that "server not available" message, it means 2k server not available.:lolAstroLad said:Does video uploading work? I keep getting 2ksports server not available or disconnected from 2ksports server halfway through an upload even though I did link my PS3 account. Am I missing anything or do I just have to keep trying at different times? (Or not bother.)
Just wondering because at first my account wasn't even linked and yet it was still letting me try to upload. I'll try again later today.viakado said:if you get that "server not available" message, it means 2k server not available.:lol
when you successfully upload though, it takes from 15-30mins for your vids to show up on your 2k account.
yeah, 2k website auto creates a profile for you based off your gamertag/psn. you can still view your uploaded videos.AstroLad said:Just wondering because at first my account wasn't even linked and yet it was still letting me try to upload. I'll try again later today.
Yep just did that yesterday. I think I did it right at least: http://community.2ksports.com/community/user/?u=203804viakado said:yeah, 2k website auto creates a profile for you based off your gamertag/psn. you can still view your uploaded videos.
What you need to do manually is to create a 2ksports.com account and linking your psn/gamertag through your account settings. the 2k account that auto creates and the one you make will be fused together into one account.
I had the same question. No, just the practice mode and the other stuff under practice. If you haven't gone into basic practice yet, it has a set of little instructions though. Same with the post moves practice.cuevas said:Just got my copy from amazon, is there a tutorial thing other than the practice mode?
It's like fighting games where to list some moves but not all.AstroLad said:I had the same question. No, just the practice mode and the other stuff under practice. If you haven't gone into basic practice yet, it has a set of little instructions though. Same with the post moves practice.
I kinda hate games that almost assume you've been playing for years and since they explained it when they introduced it in NBA2Kx why explain it again anywhere?
Game itself is awesome though.

You have to put points in your defensive awareness to have better defensive switching. Midrange should see points for any player you make right off the bat too. Then what category you put starting points in depends on your position and play style.Gully State said:My player is even more brutal this year than last. The point penalties for doing the wrong thing have increased (as well as the number of wrong things you can do on the court) whereas the point penalties for doing positive things has decreased. I do like little touches such as giving small points for passes that lead to assists, playing proper transition defense, good hard fouls and passing to setup fouls. I don't quite understand the logic of who your check is on the court this year as it seems to be proximity based (defender arrow doesn't necessarily point at your positional matchup) rather than last year where it was completely based on your matchup. I've lost quite a bit of points b/c I was supposed to guard the small forward running down the court on the opposite side spotting up for a jumper rather than the PG I'm matched up with.

You have to earn enough trust with the team to get "Floor General," which will let you call plays. I'm assuming this is related to team chemistry.Gully State said:Why is it that I can't seem to call plays as PG in My Player? Is there a rating that governs that or is it a bug?
XiaNaphryz said:You have to earn enough trust with the team to get "Floor General," which will let you call plays. I'm assuming this is related to team chemistry.
Don't worry about it - just get good team grades and try to answer post-game conference questions that increase your standing with the team and you'll eventually get there. I'm playing a 5'10" athletic PG with the Magic, and because they like to give Nelson minutes I end up moving to SG. Which is fine with me as I'm a good enough shooter that I can just try and get the ball and set up an open shot if needed.Gully State said:Great...I think I might have to scrap my 5''9 athletic PG...especially since the computer likes to continually put him in at SG.
ph33nix said:Does anybody know how to...just get more fucking plays called for you? The only shit that ever gets called is 53 roll which is between me and Artest. Gee, I'm looking forward to setting a screen and seeing Artest shoot behind the screen every fucking time. I wonder if it's offensive awareness or if you just have to deal with it.
My guy's in the playoffs right now, a center on the Lakers. We went down 0-3 to the Jazz but won 3 straight, now I get to try and make history
I decided to make another save file because I was curious to see how the off-season would go, and I tried different scenarios---seems like you only get to pick from 2-4 teams to join. They're generally the same each time too; I kept getting contracts with the Lakers, Thunder, Spurs, Jazz, and Hawks. I actually made a separate save file because I got an offer from the Heat and the Wolves (the team that apparently won the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes in the game :lol) I was curious to see if the Wolves would run plays for me but no, everything was for Melo and Beas ;(
Axis said:I believe the offensive awareness has something to do with it, because if that isn't high enough - your guy won't have a high basketball IQ to recognize what's going on. Are you starting over Bynum or working off the bench to spell him? A lot of times, the backups don't get the ball too much and are just out there to rest the starters or keep your lead intact if you're up by a lot.
Team chemistry plays a part in it, too. If it's not high, then they won't share the ball with you enough.
