I skipped 2k21 which was pretty universally hated and most suggested I stick to 2k20. So.......as soon as it crashes to 20$ I'll give it a shot. I find it best to skip at least 1 year in iterations.

It's that time of the year again when another microtransaction-laden sequel arrives in Visual Concepts' NBA 2K series. NBA 2K22 is out on September 10th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC, bringing a new range of features and cover stars.

That's the opposite take I have had, I felt like every year another fancier looking cartoon with unrealistic lighting and great motion capture. It's hard to tell for sure from all the close ups, but maybe, just maybe this year it will be different. Kinda looks like the lighting might finally be better.....

The animations and player likeness have steadily improved, but I'm dumbfounded as to how the overall look of the game has gotten worse over the years, and how NBA2K14 overall looks better than this. I would love to be blown away by a new 2K title like I was with 2K14.

Ya I don't get it, they brought in a new engine with rt, and we have a ton of power to work with. Hopefully we are wrong.......

I think NBA 2k21 looks better than NBA 2k14 but NBA 2k14's lighting is what makes that game stand out so much.

But as for the quality, NBA 2K has the same problem that Madden has ….

NBA 2k and Madden can release a game every year without changing much and make a guaranteed $1m+ in profits . From a business perspective, it actually makes a lot of sense as to why they would not change much. Think about it, if you could keep doing the same thing every year and still get rewarded with millions of dollars in profits why would you change?

Thats the issue with NBA 2K, they have become a prisoner of their own success. The visuals in 2K14 probably taxed their resources which cut into their profits so they probably decided to scale things back because they know they will make millions anyway and they were right. NBA 2k is in the top 10 for most games sold every year.

I don't think we will see them make serious changes until the sales of the game starts to decrease or until a serious competitor comes to the market. his is why having serious competition is so important because it pushes companies to constantly have to improve. NBA 2K and Madden don't have enough competition so that's why they don't feel the need to innovate because they will make their money regardless of the product they put out.

What is this? It's like fifa. Sure up close players might look slightly better , but during play on your typical camera angle it's zoomed out and all you left are those same nasty robotic animations.

Used to love playing the NBA 2K games but got way too addicted. Had to permanently stop, haven't played a single one since NBA 2k12

I really loved the 5v5 thing they had going. It was a lot of fun to space the floor and move freely make plays as a team

Loved 5v5 when it was new and only nba players, and then they lost the plot with myPlayer thing where everyone is a freak and no more any team play required as you can be over 7 foor point guard 3 point specialist and dunk on 3 guys anytime. Trash

That's a shame that it's not NBA players anymore. Most of the fun came in playing as certain players knowing their skills and doing your best to play like that; play your role to perfection. Make plays and try to win in that fashion, space the floor and take good shots

I tried to enjoy NBA2K21… disk space consuming monster… but there is way way too much content I really do not care for between playing a basketball game / seasons and all the MyTeams (please buy microtransactions or grind) then I would like.

If they have improved controls and animations and reduced disk space a little, I may consider it, but darn…

Eww what are those dumb mini gameplays they're adding to a NBA game . GTA wannabe ? I mean they should just put all the resources into making the on-court gameplay as good as possible instead of these .
