This game looks great, the screenshots don't do it justice. I'd almost buy it just to show it off. Definately a good attempt to push the envelope by VC.

looks way better in motion than the pics indicate. is 2Ks gameplay hands down more solid than Live's? its gonna be tough to pick a bball game but I think Ill have to go with 2k knowing that they will most likely implement Xbox Live better than Live will. did that make sense? :lol

Allow me to repeat for this thread...

Defensive Stance is Back! Confirmed by a 2k programmer at OS

That's supposed to be Mo Pete? :lol :lol

I'm not sure I like the glazed sweat look every player seems to have.

The only thing is i want to see actual gameplay as in an ingame vid. But Damn that new vid looks so much better. Like the said the little thing like those facial animations we think we dont notice do make a difference

I just watched the trailer. It looks good...The superstars look very realistic and they obviously put a lot of work into them. People who played Xbox/PS2 2K6 will shudder as they listen to the music playing.

I'm curious to see how the gameplay is improved, because there are some major holes in the current gen game. Sadly Live has even more flaws so 2K wins by being the lesser of two evils.

Am I the only one that find the jersey weird because it's not exactly next to the player's body (ie: the trap area) and just hovering around it? The game looks amazing but that kills the effect of realism for me....

WOW at the animation segment from where AI brings the ball down and lays it in to Nash driving at the top of the key looks insanely real. Replayed it a few times and still, it looks incredible. it's at roughly 20secs in

LOOKS BETTER THAN LIVE FROM AFAR BUT LIVE KILLS IT FROM CLOSE UP. That sweat looks awful from close up, it looks like frosting.

Eh? The argument up until now has been that Live looks better from gameplay angles and 2K looks better in closeups.

I cannot get over how slick this game is lookin' (literally and figuratively). I haven't bought an NBA 2K game since 2K1 on the Dreamcast, but 2K6 on the 360 is definitely working its way up my want list.

wow are ya retarded?? 2k6 pwns live so much!! how can ya be so freaking blind wow..the movement, facial expressions, clothing kills live's style.

Because everyone sees through your thinly veiled EA cork soaking.

Yea...thats why I own 2K on Xbox and not Live eh?Try harder next time you might succeed,I doubt it though.

D/L the vid, looks good, jerseys still move to freely though, much like Live's suck ass running animation, neither is perfect.

Unfooking real... this game is looking unbelievable! I know some of the same might be off...

I think Kobe looks off because he is in dunk mode and is probably making the "oomph" face. I think VC added facial changes during dunks or fouls or pre-game (chewing gum)...

I cannot wait another 17 days, I want this game now...

I didn't buy the X-Box version this year and trade in all X-Box items... so I need my NBA2K fix...

I might play the game in a zoomed in camera view to see all the detail.

They better start showing off new videos and pictures every few days or so...

So are the majority of you league people getting 2K or Live, cuz that will make my decision :P

I still don't know. The fact that EA Canada is turning NBA Live into a simulation again has me interested. And I really don't want to buy another NBA2K6 in the same quarter :lol

You're in for a treat then, this year's is truly an awesome game (offline, I haven't played online). Also, the defensive stance button is supposedly back in for the 360 version so that's icing on the cake.

I'm starting to like 2K quite a bit now...as long as it's on HOF. It still has some flaws....some animations never work (certain post moves), some work too well (turnaround 3's seem to go in as often as regular 3's) but I think Live is still far behind. Since whichever game I plan on putting tons of hours into, I want to make the right choice, but if I had to make a decision now I'd say 2K.

as soon as I find out which one will support online leagues Ill tell you which one Im buying. given EAs track record with online leagues, Ill most likely be getting 2k6.

You're going to find something wrong and drop anyway so why bother?

I'm going with nba 2k6. Videos of Live 2k6 leads me to believe that the 'floaty', 'skating' controls are still there. I'm more of a sim bball guy and previous Live's have been too quick/arcadey for me.
Here's hoping the D-stance button gets put back in...

why do all of the player's skin look milky looking?

and ugh on some of those player faces, which are really off. although King James' face looks good, the rest are just bad, and Paul Pierce's is fucking HIDEOUS...

YES I am retarded. How did you guess? It's not my fault the skin has a weird blurryness to it and is covered in what looks to be a confectioners glaze. Looks better from far away.

The honey-glazed players look great in motion, but in the stills the sweat is comical.
