Yep. Lebron had a nasty and 1 dunk because Speights literally jumped at him. Not only was he out of position, but the way Speights hopped at him he was totally off balance and had no chance of recovery. Just bizarrely awful footwork.

Speights always gets in trouble when he tries to do too much. Just stay in front of guys, take the charge and shoot spot up J's. When he put the ball on the floor or posts up, I just cringe

I know Kerr shouldn't do this b/c you'll psychologically damage a player but you can gauge Speight's effectiveness with his first 2 shots. If he makes them, yeah he's going to be productive (not just shooting the ball)...but if he misses, just keep him out for the rest of the game, he's not going to give you anything.

Lmao too true.

Fjordson, you're overreacting. It would be beyond shocking if Golden State doesn't close this out, even if it gets to a game 7.

Unless Lue executes my Dahntay Jones strategy, that is.

I'd say if Dahntay goes in there and picks a fight at the jump ball, it would be at least even odds that Draymond would reciprocate.

If not, it's just 2 shots and the ball and 1 less dude for the Cavs that wasn't going to get run anyway.

Nah...that's too obvious..Draymond isn't dumb. If you want to be really smart about it, you need to have Dahntay Jones just completely and utterly lay out Steph. That's how you would get at Dray...oops I've said too much.

Here are some HB misses

And some Curry misses

It's telling that all but one of those is in the second half. Curry started the game OK, and it looked like he was going to go full "fuck you" mode for about 3 minutes, and then he just fell off. Thompson was shooting lights out through the first half too. I mean, LeBron and Kyrie were tearing shit up all game, and it was still tied at halftime. You're not going to get that level of efficiency from James and Irving in two more games, and you're not going to see the Warriors bricking wide open threes at that rate for two more games. It's one bad half.

I feel like we've been saying this all series long...waiting for the opposite to occur. I get the impression that Steph is just worn out and Klay is kinda getting there. I really don't expect Steph to go nova anytime soon. While it's not an excuse because he should play better no matter what, but rather an explanation...the nagging injuries seemed to have caught up.

Those back to back wide open threes when it was 99-92 ended the game for me
Would have been a 1 point game too putting pressure on LeBron X Kyrie

And it took a damn 40 point game from both of them to beat them and the game wasn't even over until 4 minutes to go

Unless they just flat out suck from 3 the next two games I still take the warriors

LeBron won't shoot like that again

I'm glad we now a have a series even though it took Draymond Green being a complete moron

Also it was nice seeing Lebron go off, I really can't stand the hate he gets especially from fellow Lakers fans

Maybe Curry isn't a finals player. Klay clearly is, Draymond clearly is, Iggy too. Its ok if Stef doesn't show up

He finished the series last year just fine. I just think Steph is feeling the drain more than any other player right now. He just doesn't look fresh..

I certainly wouldn't call Klay a finals player after this series. It actually speaks to how deep this team is that no one is really playing that great and they're still up 3-2. I would say Steph was their best player last finals

He has had quite the year and it is very possible that the regular season took a lot out of him. Injuries haven't helped to be sure but it just looks like he is tired.

What has happened to LeBrons shooting over the last few years. I feel like great shooting preformances weren't nearly as scarce when he was in Miami.

He looked straight gassed in game five [this year]. Like, walking tired on the court where he'd have been jogging normally.

That's what he does when his 3 isn't falling, he slumps his shoulders and mopes around. Kyrie was putting him on gifs and he doesn't respond well to being on the receiving end of the highlight reel unless he immediately chucks up a 3 after.

Nailed it.

Curry has sleepless nights at the thought of being made into a GIF. Kyrie cracked the code.

What's 'wrong' with Curry is that he's pretty much the smallest player on the court, and that will kill anyone's legs during the finals. LeBron is a goddamn superhuman which helps him play in all those Finals + Olympics runs

It's also why Curry looks away when he shoots 3's. He has a fear of failure and can't stand the sight of the ball not going in through the hoop....seeing that brick would just wreck him.

Love was plus 18 and helped hold the Warriors to 36 points in a half. His teammates were extremely hot.

Watch more basketball, Internet.

Yeah, he helped. He "guarded" whoever the Warriors had on the floor who wasn't an offensive threat, gave up a bunch of uncontested threes that Barnes and Speights flat-out bricked, shot 20% from the floor and 0% from three, and managed to pull down one rebound for every 11 minutes he was on the floor, which is what you're looking for from the person you brought in specifically as a rebounding specialist and floor-spacer. His +18 is solely because of the time he shared the court with LeBron or Kyrie while they were going off. Love had a terrible game by every single metric except +/-.

He's as conscienceless as JR Smith. He had bad shooting nights in the regular season too and he still kept shooting.

Somebody is legitimately trying to argue that an all offense/no defense player who scored a total of 2 points in 33 minutes had a good game in a blowout because of plus/minus?

Yes helping to space the court did nothing to help two teammates score 41.

Hey, Tristan, LeBron. I see you guys grabbing all those boards. Let some bounce so I can get a few more. You know, to please the Internet.

He wasn't drawing away any significant defensive attention from the Warriors. If that's the case you are saying nobody can ever have a bad game when their team wins, because them merely existing somehow contributed.

His very presence struck fear into the Warriors D. Allowing LeBron and Kyrie to walk in, without him on that court. They would have been shut down.

The Warriors were fine letting Kyrie + LeBron go for 82 points because they know Love would top that by himself if given even a sliver of daylight.

Watching Kevin Love play, I don't understand how he had a season where he averaged 15 rebounds a game. Is the rest of the league just that bad when it comes to rebounding fundamentals? He seems to really struggle boxing guys out, he doesn't jump that well, and doesn't seem particularly strong for his size. Is it really good hands?

I feel like Love's career as a really good/borderline allstar type player can still be salvaged. The Cavs are just a terrible fit for him. He needs to go somewhere where he can play the 4 full time, and play alongside an athletic, defensive minded 5 that can attack the rim on offense and defend the rim on defense. I think Bill Simmons of all people hit the nail on the head when he said the Cavs feel like a team constructed to win in 2009 in a lot of ways. TT is not an above average athlete, and can't defend the rim, so for Love's sake he is just sort of a big ass body that gets in the way in the paint, and LeBron in 2016 should probably be spending a majority of his time at the 4 spot. Love is not remotely fast enough to play the 3, and not athletic or big enough to play the 5, so he's lost on this team.

Do you think if everyone on the Cavs had played like Kevin Love last night, they would have won the game? Klay Thompson posted a -21; do you think if all the Warriors had played like Thompson, they would have lost? +/- is a woefully incomplete stat in a vacuum, as evidenced by the fact that Kevin Love apparently outplayed LeBron James last night going solely by that stat. Meanwhile Love put up a defensive rating of 106 points allowed per 100 possessions, with a truly atrocious offensive rating of 39 points per 100 possessions, by far his worst mark of the postseason.

Stats never tell the whole story. LeBron damn near hit a triple double in the first two games and he looked downright bad through those games (as compared to his brilliant performance last night). Kevin Love didn't pass the eye test yesterday; he had a shitty game, and the Cavs are going to need him to step it up if they want any shot at winning two more games. LeBron and Kyrie are not going to play like this every night.

So Kevin Love is pretty much out of this Cavs team regardless of the outcome of these Finals right?

I mean, I guess it depends on what they can get for him. Ideally what they need is an athletic, 3 and D wing player who can also help them win NOW, as LeBron's on a 2-3 year window. Those guys aren't just falling off trees, and i'd wonder how many teams would be willing to part with someone like that for Kevin Love, whose stock has tanked in the last 2 seasons. They might just have to get like 10 cents on the dollar for him, take the cap relief and chalk it up as a loss.

Apparently Jae Crowder and some other scrubs are the answer to the Cavs power forward issues.

I've also heard bad knee Carmelo Anthony can be the answer as well.

The answer to the Cavs power forward issues is already on the team. What they need is an athletic 3 and a rim protector. Unfortunately for the Cavs, so does nearly everyone else.

Blaming Kevin Love for not hitting all five shots while Bron and Kyrie scored 40 is very silly.

Nobody let's this dude just exist and play his part. No third option has ever avg 20/10. So we gotta stop asking KL to do it.
