David Griffin was on NBA TV. He thinks the deal will go through. He also hinted that maybe the Cavs would trade that BK Pick to get more talent for Lebron.

That seems like a mistake. There's no player that can be had with a 1st round pick that would get Cavs near GSW. Then LeBron leaves and they're left with that player instead of their choice from the draft.

Honestly I would. That franchise is so poorly run they aren't going to be relevant again til another generational talent from Ohio is born.

Securing another year of Lebron or more by moving some of those shitty contracts you handed out with the help of the BKN pick is better than getting a head start on the rebuilding process.

Yeah, this is how I view it as well unless the Nets look like a lock for the most ping pong balls and Porter or Bagley look like the second coming and LeBron signals he might stay. If LeBron leaves you are going to be picking top 5 for years. You are just delaying the rebuild by 1 year. Might as well take one final shot.

When ya'll think they'll likely trade the Nets Pick? As soon as possible?

I think If they wait before the trade deadline & the Nets Pick is still predicted to be in at least top 10. Shoot, I'd try trading for DeMarcus Cousins, with Tristan Thompson & the Nets pick, especially if it doesn't pan out well for Pelicans & Boogie gets non committal about resigning.

Or maybe trade their own Cavs pick & Tristan Thompson for DeAndre Jordan.

This late in the offseason that's all you can really do. Hope that one of the Davis-Cousins or Westbrook-George experiment doesn't work and they don't want their FA to be to walk away for nothing. Or see what injuries force teams to throw in the towel early say if Griffin goes down maybe Jordan is available in an attempt to tank.

Watch Lebron Shabazz Napier the Cavs with that Brooklyn pick anyway.

Cavs asked for more from the Celtics last night
Deal is more about the Nets pick for the Cavs
Phoenix are not going to trade Josh Jackson for Irving
Denver really could make a compelling offer but do not want to go all in on Kyrie
Bucks offering Brodgon and Middleton. No picks
Concluded that Boston already overpaid for Kyrie and he might not be worth it now, he can become worth it later.

Cavs need to stop effing around

Though would that Phoenix trade be straight up? I would trade a rookie for a top 20 player in his prime any day

There's no player in next year's draft that's going to make Cleveland a contender in the next ten years either, I don't see IT staying and if LeBron leaves there will be at least a 5-10 year rebuilding phase before they're even making the playoffs consistently again. The window won't be any bigger than it is right now for a very long time, they should do whatever they can to get more meaningful pieces. Lebron can get them to the big stage, why not try for the upset?

Think the Golden State Warriors are a lock to make the NBA playoffs? A Las Vegas sportsbook is willing to take that bet -- at 1-1,000 odds.

To win $100 on the Warriors making the playoffs, a bettor has to put up $100,000 at the Westgate SuperBook. On the flip side, odds are 100-1 that Golden State does not make the playoffs, so a $100 bet would pay $10,100 if the Warriors didn't make the postseason.

Good luck with that.

"The Warriors have the highest price we have ever placed on a favorite to make the playoffs," Westgate assistant manager Jeff Sherman told ESPN on Tuesday.

Golden State's win total was sitting at 67.5 at the Westgate, which on Tuesday became the first sportsbook in Nevada to open betting on the season-win totals and odds to the make the playoffs for every team.

The Warriors are projected to win 11 more games in the regular season than the next closest team, which, somewhat surprisingly, is not the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Boston Celtics' season win total opened at 56.5 at the Westgate, three more than the Cavaliers (53.5).

Sherman, the Westgate's chief NBA oddsmaker, favors the Celtics to win more games than the Cavaliers in the regular season, but Cleveland remains the favorite at -150 to win the Eastern Conference. Boston is 2-1 to win the Eastern Conference.

"It was evident last year the Cavaliers did not emphasize home-court advantage in the playoffs," Sherman said. " expect them to limit some players minutes this season."

The Houston Rockets opened with the second-highest win total, behind the Warriors in the Western Conference, at 55.5, followed by the San Antonio Spurs (54.5) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (51.5).

The Philadelphia 76ers saw the biggest improvement in their projected win total from last season to this year. The 76ers' win total opened at 24.5 last season and 43.5 this year.

The Chicago Bulls opened with the lowest season-win total at 21.5. That's 19 less wins than they were projected to win last season.

The Los Angeles Lakers' win total opened at 33.5, their highest since the 2013-14 campaign. The Lakers are +550 underdogs to make the playoffs in the rugged Western Conference, though. But there are believers.

Out of the first 101 bets on the Lakers' playoff odds at the Westgate, Sherman said 100 were on "Yes."

Thoughts at first glance:

Short the Sixers, Lakers (whoa...), Pacers, Clips

Bet the Jazz, Spurs, Grizz

The Wolves number was staggering to me when I first saw it. But given Thibs' nature, Towns' development, and Butler, it might be reasonable. I still think it's optimistic, but I wouldn't really want to bet the under and see them rack up wins when Thibs is playing Butler and Towns 45 minutes on a back-to-back in Brooklyn in February.

UA stock went down 3% cuz KD was talking some shit recently, yall hear about it? Is the guy one of the most dense fuckers in the league, his realizes his teammate is pretty much the face of that company right lol

The biggest thing I'm taking away from this, is how terrible the Cavs GM looks during this whole process, and that they are going to be stuck with him once LeBron leaves.

so basically cleveland tried to flex on em and ainge gave them the michael corleone treatment

"you can have my answer now if you like. my offer is this: nothing"

I'm assuming it means they take the deal as is. it's really the perfect deal for cleveland and their situation with lebron. they get the nets pick for potential life without lebron, they get crowder who helps their all in mentality this season as far as defending against golden state, and even if IT is out until 2018 he'll be great for them when the post season gets going.

they get some really nice all in "please stay in cleveland lebron" pieces and they get a nice draft pick in case lebron still bolts
