Wow, Dia at #1 on iTunes (with Javier at #2).

My guess at the results are this (if they give us the actual final rankings, which I expect they will): (1) Dia (2) Javier (3) Vicci (4) Beverly

I'd love to see Vicci win, but I think Dia is going to take the win, which is a bit of a surprise as I was sure Javier would have done so. She's cute, she's quirky, and she done some pretty awesome songs, and America loves that. Still, I'm really impressed with how the final four ended up, considering where things started. Really great variety of people, and fair or not (as I'm not a big watcher of the show), I feel like the final singers here show way more variety than what you'd typically see on Idol.

I want Vicci or Javier to win. Dia, as someone I was watching it with last night said, is cookie cutter and thousands of people sound like her. Which is true. There's nothing special about her.

I don't know how that can be a criticism of Dia and not Javier as well.

The votes are supposed to be for the original song only, but it's sort of hard to separate that in my mind when they each did a duet on the same show too.

Anyway, Dia's *original* song was most memorable for me. Second place would go to Beverly. Javier was ok and I just simply didn't like Vicci's song.

When it comes to duet performances, Vicci and Cee Lo was by far the most entertaining to me. Awesome song and Vicci did an amazing job. Second place for that would be Dia/Blake. And what's up with Christina choosing "Beautiful" (and "Lady Marmalade" before that?). Way to think out of the box, jeez.

Wow, nice job Martinez. That note at the end was incredible! No matter how she does tonight, I look forward to hearing more music from her.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Actually I like Javier so that's cool. To be honest, I would have been fine with any one of the finalists.

I hope they all go on to get eventual record deals. They are all fabulous. Out of Javier and Dia, I would have wanted it to be Dia... But, in the end, Vicci is still my girl. <3

Based on the popularity of the show and iTunes downloads, I'm pretty sure all of them will get a deal out of this.

Based on the types of music I suspect they'll gravitate towards, Javier is actually the only one that I probably wouldn't buy something from (even if I adore his voice) :p

Well, at least the winner wasn't a white guy with a guitar, right?

Women need not apply for singing competitions.

Bleh, what a lame result.

The safe, bland choice wins again. :/ Just a reminder of why I had previously stopped watching reality singing competitions.

Dia is still amazing and flawless. (#1 on iTunes!) I'm sure she'll have tons of success based on this, and I intend to support her in that regard. :)

And as shown by lots of past experience, winning definitely isn't everything when it comes to these things, it's the exposure that's the most valuable.

Anyway, despite the less than desirable result, I still enjoyed the show and intend to watch next season.

So, I just read that apparently Adam asked Justin Beiber to get his fans to vote for Javier last night. Supposedly it was trending all through the night.

Seems a bit unfair, but I guess you can't really control how or why someone gets votes. People can vote for whatever reason they want, so competitions like this are always a double edged sword.

I just looked at Bieber's twitter (augh) and yes, he does mention supporting Javier and mentions Adam Levine several times. But, who is to say Blake, Christina, and Cee Lo didn't do the same?

I'm locked in for the 2nd season. The only thing I can hope for is Daly to be replaced. The man is a charismatic black hole.

I wonder how it would be, though, if somehow the identity of the contestants could be hidden throughout the season. That was one of the selling points they kept mentioning in ads before it first premiered. I wish it could have been like that further than the first round of picks. I think some of the choices could have been different if it were this way.

I saw some of the episode prior to the finale and was really impressed by Javier.. he definitely sounded like his song would be on the radio. The other 3 songs were frankly average to poor (not necessarily their performances, but the songs themselves) -- he lucked out. Seems like he'll be able to piggyback off Bruno Mars' success.

Funny enough, the person that did sing a Bruno Mars song was eliminated during the battle rounds.

Never got around to watching the past few episodes but I still wish Vicci won. Her performance from her audition stuck with me. One of the only ones who I remember.

They totally could, I'm just pondering on the pros and cons of public voting when it comes to talent competitions. It's just something that has to be dealt with in situations like this, and it usually ends up getting the same results. (The safest, most inoffensive person winning.) Sadly, a lot of the people who vote this way have little to zero interest in supporting the artist after the show by buying their music. That's why so many AI winners fall off the map afterward, and their lack of defining traits in their music is a big part of that.

Anyway, Dia's still #1 on iTunes. :)
