Ha! Yeah we'll I'm sure digital foundry will write an article saying the port is nothing special and all that was just PR talk.
Nice to see you being positive about things.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough - meant more "graphically-advanced" titles.
Wonder why Mass Effect 3, Sonic Racing, etc aren't doing it.
Which "tonnes of games" are we talking about here?
Sounds promising but I always end up not playing my NFS games. I have two on Steam and one for the 360 and barely played them lol

But Gaf told me Wii U RAM didn't matter in real world games because it was slow bandwidth????
Thread title is misleading. There is NO DEMO people.
They may bring a demo. But right now NO demo is announced!

the footage is from Dev Demo.. Youtube video title.
I know but people think thats an eShop demo or soon to be released demo, while we have no annoucnement whatsoever for a playable demo on the eShop.
BLOPS2 isn't graphically advanced?
Wow! The first Wii U game I'm really interested because of the graphics.
I just hope the framerate is stable. The 360 version drops a lot for me, especially at road blocks. It might be because of my aging 360 though.
I want to see a graphics comparison with the PC version though...
Should be identical, except for the IQ and the DX11 bells and whistles.
"Demo" needs to be edited out of the thread title.

you obviously weren't listening to Gaf though as Gaf also said the ram bandwidth wasnt as bad as it looked and was pretty irrelevant
And resolution. And probably better AA?

When a console represents a generational leap in power, it doesn't take coding skill to demonstrate that it's more powerful than preceding systems.[...]
After taking a look at nine Xbox 360 launch games and comparing them side by side against their Xbox counterparts, it's clear that we can't automatically assume that the Xbox 360 version of a game will be significantly better than the Xbox version, especially if you don't have an HDTV.
Seeing Criterion make a system sing, doesn't mean that it doesn't have problems, or that lesser developers can do the same thing. They're pretty great at working within (and around) a systems bottlenecks. Consider, for example, that they were one of the first devs to put out a multiplatform game on PS3 and 360 where the two versions were almost identical in looks and performance.
Hopefully you don't need to be a Criterion level of talent to demonstrate the Wii U's technical advantage over the other consoles, but there should be no real argument any more that the Wii U doesn't have a technical advantage. It's just a small one, and it takes some specific work to demonstrate it.

None of this should be surprising to anyone who was paying attention in the build up to the systems release, but what are you going to do. That launch ports were almost at parity in many cases (and a bit better in a few rare cases) was a good sign for the system. That Criterion have now shown it can run a big budget late generation port at higher fidelity seals it.
The Wii U is more powerful overall. A bit. Enough that you can look at Most Wanted U and tell that it looks better, but not so much you look at it and go 'WOW!'.
Actually, DF already responded to a guy from the B3D thread, that they had an article about to release about a current gen state of the art game, that was clearly superior on WiiU... very likely this is Burn... errr Need for Speed.
I think that's what he meant and was being sarcastic about the abundance of trolls claiming otherwise.
I think your memory may be a bit clouded. As with many others.
Or would you judge the 360 being only slightly more powerfull than the original xbox based on it's own launch ports?
Don't forget the load times and maybe the online population. And resolution. And probably better AA?

The most 360 launch ports looked tremdously better than their XBox counterparts.

/offtopic.
only if you ignore the massive increase in resolution. The 360 -> Wii U ports we got at launch did not demonstrate any real increase in resolution.Probably because the few that looked different and improved had some effort behind them? Others just looked the same - like 360 -> wiiu ports.
Why is Criterion the only developer that ported a game from the PC VERSION ???
Or were there more 3rd party developers that did that for example mass effect 3 ?

Trine 2
I know Trine 2 was also ported from the PC version, which just so happens to be one of the other games that shows clear graphical advantages over the PS3 and 360 versions.
