Finally received my parts from Akihabara!

Last night my TE spazzed out during a Street Fighter 4 final and I couldn't use hard kick at all. Ohhh I was not happy. I've had a few problems like this so far. I'm thinking maybe I should call up Mad Catz.

Roundhouse randomly drops for me to. I have to reconnect the controller...

Unfortunately you might have. If you can't fix it, I guess you can always try the warranty.

Thanks. Is there anyway for me to fix it? What parts would I need? I don't want to throw away my HRAP 3.

PS3 version ORDERED from Amazon. Thanks for the heads up.

Both PS3 and 360 TE sticks are priced the same (£150). Game.co.uk have them in stock too.

Get them while you can; before they hit ebay for £250.

Yup, I had to do that too. It wasn't like my other freakouts where it was obvious something was wrong since I couldn't leave crouchblock or kept walking backwards. I just thought the game had gotten oddly laggy and didn't realize what was up until it was almost over. I guess you have the same issue rules out an issue with my USB ports.

Definitely a PCB issue because the same thing happened when I tried it on PC.
It's strangely random though. Anyone else having this issue?

Dunno if this has been posted yet. I think Yes Boss! asked. so here goes!

Got my desu smiles stick, just cracked it open...

...survey says...

...the buttons use quick disconnects! Yay!

Stick is soldered. BOO!

Shitty cell phone pics follow. I apologise for the crap lighting... it's those power-saver bulbs. They don't play well with cameras.

Hope that helps. Also I have a brand-new TE stick and a brand-new death smiles stick for sale, shoot me PM if interested.

Thanks Kazuo! Good news indeed! A soldered stick is no biggie...but disconnects on the buttons saves quite a headache. Mine's on the truck "out for delivery" so I'll take a photo when it arrives. I still don't get my Violet buttons for another five weeks so this will likely sit boxed till then. Maybe timing will be right and I'll be able to pull it out all modded up for Mega Black Label.

Hopefully Hori saw a good return on this one and will release a Mushi Futari version later this year. Gotta buy them all!

Was not expecting DS stick to use QDs.

Then again there really isn't a 360 version of the PCB they used with buttons soldered directly to them like in the SF4 and BlazBlue Real Arcade Pros, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Curious why a shmup stick would have a Sanwa lever instead of Seimitsu, but I already knew about that and the Oto-G Hyperstick went the same route.

That was my thinking...Hori is so lazy that they were just gonna make it an EX. Didn't Hori jack up the price at Amazon JPN to something like 15,000 Yen to gouge the collectors? This thing was way pricier to import than the SFIV and BB sticks...like, the same price as the EX-SE.

That BlazBlue stick is going to be downright NASTY when it arrives...but it is blue so that is kinda fun.

Here's hoping we get new stick announcements soon. Still waiting to see what arrives for KoF and I still need a 360 version of MarkMan's TE.

Co-signed. I really want an all-new Namco stick in time for T6. The PS1 variant was ace.

The workmanship on that thing is pretty fucking great. It might be the best feeling stick in my collection without "Virtua" on it.

do you suppose we'll get some swanky sticks for Tekken 6. I kinda went all out for Tekken 6 already by buying 2 TE sticks. One for ps3 and one for 360.

I think everyone is going to try and do the premium stick thing after seeing how well it worked for Capcom.

So if the Death Smiles stick has quick disconnects, then there's hope for the BlazBlue stick to be the same??? Or is this just wishful thinking...

I'm betting a 99% chance the BlazBlue will not have QDs.

Also, my DS stick finally arrived. Super cute with a nice matte finish. Inside of it follows.

Yeah, I figured that it was wishful thinking...

Ah...That Death Smiles stick looks great. I'm pissed that I missed the preorder on that at Play Asia AND at NCSX...I need a Hori stick for my 360...

Nice pickup, Yes Boss!
I can't want to see it with the purple skeleton Seimitsu parts!

Why DOES a shmup stick have a Sanwa anyway?
Heh, I asked the same about the Otomedius-G stick. Probably Hori just being lazy... then again, why not resuse the HRAP EX-SE?

I've still gotta order a Seimitsu stick. What exactly is the model number I go for if I'm looking to copy the EX-SE? Maybe I'll just keep the Sanwa lever since it has the nice black sheeth.

LOL! Seems like everyone is going this route. I'm doing it for sure on the stick I am keeping, and if I end up keeping the other one I got, I'm going to go with pink Seimitsu skeletons... some guy on shmups put purple Seimitsu on his as well. @_@

If the BlazBlue stick is based on the EX series of sticks and not the HRAPs, it will likely have soldered buttons...

You getting the BlazBlue? I think it is only for suckers but I'm picking one up so I can look forward to a new stick over the summer and to help make the game's release a mini-event for myself. Not sure what I'll do with the buttons for it but I'll probably switch them out with Sanwa to match the light-blue balltop.

And, after seeing the all-black stick on the Death Smiles I'm really tempted to eventually pick up another HRAP EX and put in all black buttons for a complete evil look.

Today I got a tri-wing screwdriver in to take apart my Wiimote and I'm gonna start putting that into my Wii-TE mod.

So I have a Madcatz FS SE. If a button stops working for about 2 seconds or so every now and then, how do I know if it's the button or the PCB? My lp used to stop working randomly on me until I replaced it with on of the spares. Same thing with my mk and now both both my lk and mp crap out on me some times. Is replacing it with the spares a temporary solution or do I need to get a new pcb?

Oh yeah, these are stock buttons. Still waiting on Sanwa buttons. Sanwa stick installed and no problems with it.

I Got a few questions. I'm thinking about getting the se sf4 fight stick. I've never owned a stick before and i'm worried about having issues with it. I vaguely remember hearing sticking issues with the joystick. Is it a decent stick(currently just usin a sixaxis? Is it recommended that I buy the stick and mod it? I dont think I can wait till the blablue stick drops , but if I have to I'll just do that.Or should I stay away all together? What is the turnaround on custom parts if I were to look into getting a sanwa stick?

Ordered some parts last Saturday (4-25) and received them today (4-30) from gamingnow.net!!! I'm sooo happy, going to install the parts in a minute. Took less than a week for the parts to arrive to my door step and I encourage anyone who is looking to mod their joysticks to order from them.

Damn, I ordered the same stuff over a month ago from the game place and I still haven't received them. He says he ships out international orders (Canada) by hand and they aren't tracked. I'm getting nervous that they were lost. $80 is a lot of money... :(

Apparently this is pretty common. Happens to me as well. I have the SE stick for the 360, so my LT button drops every now and then (roundhouse as well). I think it's specifically a LT/RT problem to be honest--when I first modded, I remapped RT to where RB usually was (making it FP) and both would wonk out but since I went back and reconnected RB, only LT ever gives me a problem now. And yeah, reconnecting always does the trick. Bizarre.

I posted earlier in this thread that maybe it was my USB port, but reading online I realize it's just a Madcatz thing. Hell, before I disconnected RT entirely my whole stick would turn off and then come on again randomly, so at least it's much better now if not entirely perfect. Here's my stick--don't think I posted it here, only in the SF4 thread:

That's interesting. I've thought about swapping the left and right buttons, since having them reversed annoys me. But if it really is an issue with the trigger buttons maybe I should just move both bumper buttons to the left...

Did you have to plug the stick back in when it would turn off and back on? That happened a few times to both my Horis.

Hopefully they release HAPP fight sticks for the Marvel release. Something like the SF anniversary ones they released years ago with UDON artwork.

Did a quick search and couldnt find my exact situation.

We've got a PS3 running a copy of MVC2. We've also got a ps2->usb adapter for a ps2 arcade stick. There's no home button on the stick (obviously) or the adapter. Isn't there a way to get a ps2 stick working on ps2 game on the ps3?

Sometimes I would have to disconnect/reconnect and other times it would come back on by itself--but again, ever since eliminating RT entirely it doesn't happen. Only the occasional LT drop. My gut feeling is that if I ever bothered to disconnect that as well I'd be set.
