So,

Amazon lists Ken and Ryu fightpads for the PS3 coming back in stock on the 15th of this month. MarkMan or anybody else, is this a one-off or are these supposed to come back in stock eventually? I'm actually looking for a Ken version on the 360 but those aren't listed.

I'm not sure, but eventually stock will run dry on the fightpads. They are limited as well. Not as limited as the sticks, but they won't be around forever.

my local FYE got a shipment of SFIV SE and TE sticks this week. Bought a PS3 TE stick, and an SE stick for the 360 to mod (they sold out of 360 TE sticks by the time I got there).

Now I have a TE stick for both systems now at least...and a SE stick for the 360 to fool around with.

It was a big a surprise, since I was just there to buy the Taken Blu-Ray and I saw those big boxes on the back of the counter. I immediately jumped on it.

I was almost tempted to go the ebay route again for the PS3 TE stick. I paid $275 for the 360 version when i bought one a while back. So glad I visited my FYE yesterday.

Yay!

Locked in my Neo stick. Wasn't up when I went to LA this morning but I've got my trusty iPhone with me for ordering. Not expecting them to sell out that quick but something to look forward to.

Screw all the other high-end sticks, I'm using this one for KoF 12. Neo-Geo stick was my first and will always be my favorite. I was a Fatal Fury fan during the SFII craze and used to get so much grief...awesome to see how respected the classic SNK games have become in the interim.

Nice pickup on the Arcana Heart 2 stick... too bad the port is wacko ;(

In regards to HRAP3 SA vs TE.

It comes down to what feels better in your hands.

The HRAP3 is very slightly angled, and some people like that. It uses the traditional arcade layout versus the flat layout on the TE. The TE also uses a slightly modified Vewlix styled button layout which is friendly for using either the left 6 or right 6 buttons depending on what you like to play.

They have the same parts. Either way you'll have a quality stick.

That is a badass case. I would like to see someone take in one step further so that the case is normal on the outside and when you open the case, the arcade stick is setup inside.

Kind of like those bomb computers in the movies where it looks like a suitcase from the outside and when you open it up there is a computer inside. You could even make padding cut-outs to protect the stick and buttons.

That would be REALLY sweet.

That's what I'm gonna be doing for my custom.

I thought of trying this too :)

I have an old attaché case with number locks lying around, would be pretty awesome if done properly. My corded 360 controller will be slaughtered for this project, together with whatever stick and buttons that seems decent.

Plexiglas will cover the bottom compartment and I'll figure out a way to make the top detachable. New hinges maybe?

Nope, that's not a dent on the case, my lens is dirty :(

I have a X-arcade basic one player stick. I cannot use it on Xbox360. Does anyone know when they will have the adaptor out for it. Or does anyone have any options for the use of this stick with the 360?

the only thing you can really do is grab a 360 compatible PCB from somewhere and wire it in.

I heard something about a 360 converter, but I think it requires you to have a wired 360 controller plugged in.

Thanks for the help. I tried it with MAME32+ and had better luck. I'll play around with it more this week.
try using the XBCD drivers for 360 controllers.

That is the red one, right? There are a couple earlier in this thread. Sexy as hell with the red and black...looks all Chinese and Class.

I'm like you with lots of other higher quality sticks but I'll use Neo-Geo for KoF XII. No sense in buying it if it will not be used.

It has been fifteen years since I've used the classic AES stick but these new ones seem slightly lighter...maybe nostalgia is clouding my memory of the original.

I'm >hoping< with the release of Garou and other XBLA releases Exar will see an opportunity to release a version for 360...then I'll have one for all three current generation systems.

I'm a total noob when it comes to fighting games. Can someone direct me to some good stick for beginner, maybe good stick + modding instructions (really noobish instructions pls), or set of parts+actions to make my own stick. Also, anyone from Euroland knows any good online store in EU selling AS? (don't want to import, stupid Customs charged me 20% on my LE DJ Max controller).

Madcatz SE or Hori Real Arcade Pro are really nice for beginner-level modding

I still might go for it in a sale or something. I didn't play the first one tons, but I liked it. Haven't really touched another fighter since SF4 though.

My Madcatz SE arrived today. I haven't used a joystick in YEARS (Dreamcast), so I'm expecting to hate it. But I am determined to make myself get used to it because I am so sick of the damn 360 controller.

Kudos to you for that good sir. One more thing - that SFIV artwork sits behind plexi-glass front panel correct? I can remove it and put my own custom panel?
The artwork is a sticker. Peel it of or print and place a new sticker over it.

Here's a nasty question I've been wanting to ask:

I get sweaty hands when I play, especially competitively. I find my stick to get dirtier way faster than a regular pad, especialy aroudn the area where I place my palm on. Any suggestions for sweat-proofing play on an arcade stick? I have the SFIV TE stick and it picks up dust and gunk really easily in addition to my sweat so I have to wipe it down a lot. Should I wear gloves to keep the palm sweat off? Just brainstorming ideas...any enlightenment on this subject would be appreciated.

Welp, my first foray into arcade stick customization ended in disaster. I ended up reopening my EX2 to swap the microswitches around so that they would be properly oriented. I got that done without a lot of fuss. Of course, I wasn't able to re-solder a couple buttons like I had planned because for some reason, my soldering iron decided to no longer get hot. I acquiesced and and decided to worry about that this weekend after I could purchase a new one.

After resealing it, I flipped it over and started up the 360 only to find that left no longer registered anything. Okay, that's not a gigantic deal and easily fixable. No worries. Then, I notice that two of the Sanwa buttons (that I waited a month for) were stuck down. I was able to free one of them but the other proved difficult. I ended up breaking the tip off two exacto knives and was still unable to free it so it would function normally. That was pretty much the end of my rope. In a fit of utter frustration and rage, I slammed the stick on the floor and then went down to the basement to finish the job.

My current plan is to really take my time and build one from scratch. Wish me luck.

yea, its the red one. i've been using NG sticks since the early 90s, so its naturally one of my favorites. its good to see them re-releasing the stick to this day on nearly every console. who would've though? no reason to stop now, the games keep rolling in.....

I have the same issues (with my 360 pad, though, my stick won't get here until next week). What I do is just put a fan on a table beside me and have it blow on my hands while I'm playing.

wash your hands before you play :lol

What's a good shop - preferably European so that ideally I don't have to wait too long - to order parts from? I know of LizardLick and the like, but I heard they're swamped with orders ever since Street Fighter IV released.

For that matter: any part recommendations for a MadCatz SE stick user? I'll probably feel like replacing both the sticks and the buttons. Furthermore: how easy is it to replace the artwork of the SE stick? I'm not exactly fond of the stock artwork (too cluttered and messy).

Quick Q, the stock buttons on the TE stick are OBSF-30s, correct?

yes

I live in America, but got my sanwa joystick from >>Gremlin Solutions<< I received the joystick one week within ordering, compared to 2 months wait on buttons from lizardlick (roughly 100 miles away from me.)

I'm trying to play some PS2 fighters on my BC PS3, but the only controller I have that works is the PS3 Sixaxis.

Is there anyway to use PS3 sticks/pads to work with PS2 games?

Can I ask what's considered bad about the buttons on the Madcatz SE sticks? What makes the Sanwa ones better?

They are shit imitations of the Sanwa buttons, they will work okay for a little while but in the long run they will let you down :)

Will there also be a X360 version of this stick?
No

Are you using the Madcatz sticks? They are not BC with PS2 games on PS3.

Hori Real Arcade Pro 3/3SA, Sega Virtua Stick High Grade, and Hori Fighting Stick 3 are compatible with PS2 games via BC.

I am looking into purchasing an arcade stick for PC MAME use only. I do not play fighting games (maybe a little VF2 every now and then). Since SlikStik closed down I am not sure where to purchase one or have one made, any ideas where I might be able to get one or have one made for me?

Yeah, I had a Madcatz stick, but I also have a HRAP3SA. I remember trying out the HRAP3SA once on Street Fighter Alpha Anthology and it not working (but working fine for SF4). I guess I should try again.

Thanks for the help.

Guys this mind sound abit silly but recently I wanted to purchase an arcade stick to go with street fighter 4 and I was wondering which one offers the best all round package?

Hands down the best arcade stick I've used. You'll probably have to wait a while for it because he's getting hammered with orders.
