Thinking about selling my TE, just not feeling the form. Maybe I'll slam in some seimitsus to try and win my heart back :P
I think the Seimitsus definitely feel better. Had a Hori HRAP3 w/sanwa buttons and borrowed my cousins Madcatz TE, Seimitisu SE ftw.

LTTP, but just got a Mad Catz Fightstick SE. Couple of thoughts (Keep in mind all I've ever owned in terms of sticks is a Hori EX2):

- Nice packaging and extras (headset adapter and move list card).
- The stick itself is much larger/heavier than I expected. Has a nice feel to it while still maintaining portability.
- Despite the criticism the Mad Catz buttons/joystick get, the feel is much better than the EX2. I even noticed a few execution improvements. Nice!
- Biggest disappointment is the sketchy headset port. I tried my old headset with the included adapter and a new model headset without the adapter. Sound quality is all over the place and it seems as if what I'm saying, and what people are saying to me, cuts out at random times. Disappointing.

Overall, I'm satisfied. Much better out of the box than my old EX2. The stock parts, as long as they hold up, should serve me fine for the next month or so while I wait for Lizard Lick to send me my replacement Sanwa joystick/buttons. Looking forward to finally trying out the quality parts.

Where to Buy:

---

I'm sure Akishop will carry it, maybe the usual suspects Play-Asia and NCSX. Expect to pay a high premium though.

ALSO!

These go on sale 6/25!

The BB sticks are SUPER limited.

Keep your eyes peeled on Aksys' site, they *might* have something for us Americans...

^_^

But yea... this stick comes out soon! Fuck me I just paid off the Virtual On stick too..

Will do. I went through NCS so they will probably release a blurb next week. I can only hope I ordered early enough, but even then I slacked off and ordered a day after they listed it.

I'm thinking this SE might be tougher to get than the 360 one given the fighting stuff right now. I might go through Akihabara this time...or at least pop off an order from both NCS and Aki.

That PS3 SE is great but I still like the look of the 360 one better. What is this Virtual On stick you speak of. Did Hori actually put up the preorder page for the VOOT stick to field demand?

^ I agree.

I think the original SE is king when it comes to color/design.

It was the first white Hori white base Hori RAP style stick after all.

Also the rarest stick Hori has ever made (400 made).

MarkMan, you just did the direct preorder for the VOOT stick through Horistore to a Japanese address, right? That hasn't been available through any importers yet has it?

Been hoping an importer would put it up...but maybe I missed it. I don't find the price that odious...but I'm hoping they spruce it up a bit.

Haven't seen an import site with the VOOT stick yet. I'm having a friend in Japan get the stick for me... whenever they're super expensive, I go the friend route ;(

<3 to Japanese friends.

Japanese friends are indeed nice!

Imagine VOOT, a 50" HDTV, and that stick...a pretty awesome thumprint of the Arcade experience. $300 for the stick does not seem bad in that context.

I'm still going to try to go for one if I get the chance. Seems a bit plain in the pic...even a Sega or smallish VO logo in it would kick it up a level.

Regarding the PS3 SE, a bit strange looking but I'm all for fugly sticks. Would've been cool if they kept the white and blue motif from the first rare one you've got.

I don't think it looks as bad as people are saying but the HRAP3 SE definitely does not look as attractive as the HRAP SE or EX-SE.

Whatever. Beauty is skin deep. It's what's on the inside that counts :)

It is growing on me. I only wish they had chosen something to make it a bit more special...like a different color base or something. Just looks like the regular HRAP3 SA with red buttons.

In any case, here is hoping NCS puts it up early next week. Should be a few bucks cheaper than the EX version. Having it come out just as the two big fighters street definitely makes up for the crummy sticks that those are getting. Makes my decision to go PS3 on BB and KoF all the better.

Also: noticed that play-asia got the Tatsunoko stick back in last week.

Also... this is Hori. They've been using this tool since 2004. All they can do at this point is change colors around, but they didn't :(

It's ok though!

BlazBlue stick has a blue base!

haha

-_- I guess my GF has almost killed 3 of my 8 buttons so time to switch them out anyone know of a place that sells gold and royal purple buttons ??

Edit: and gold ball tops

There is no gold, but if you want to see what is available, check out www.akihabarashop.jp !

like 2 weeks ago, I finally got the plate for my LS-32. I like it much better than the JLF.
It's just so... tight.

(Still the tightest/stiffest stick I've ever used was in that ASCII CvS2 stick)

Hey MarkMan, how do the special Seimitsu buttons feel like on the original SE? Is it anything like the Sanwa RGs?

Yes, the original SE uses the premium Seimitsu GX buttons... which are Seimitsu equivalent of the RG buttons.

It's good stuff. It feels a tad bit springier than regular PS-14 buttons.

Does it make that dull "thok thok" sound Seimitsu buttons do?

Does anyone know if they ever patched it so that the Street Fighter Limited stick will work with PS2 games on the PS3?
I seem to remember that someone said that it would not before it was released.
(In the middle of moving so will be another week before I have access again)

So, I've never ordered a stick from Akihabara Shop. What is exactly the process...you send an email or something? I'm wanna be ready for when they put up the new SE.

Is it a pain to get the appropriate Seimitsu into the SE fightstick? I've used Sanwa sticks for years, but only just tried a buddies Seimitsu this weekend and was immediately comfortable with it.

The Madcatz SFIV sticks are currently still not BC. They won't work with PS2 games.

Nope. They snap (or screw) right in. If you're using screw-ins, the nut for the light kick button might be a little snug against the stick's mounting bracket but that would be the only issue.

So, nobody knows the process for Akihabara? I find the site maddeningly obtuse. Do they actually open up a cart system for preorders when they decide to list them? Maybe I'll stick to NCS, but I was hoping to try another vendor for a change.

Last time I ordered I had to fill in a form. They're good guys to deal with, and if they haven't changed the process it's pretty efficient.

Try em!

Ok, I'll keep an eye on the site. I guess it is extra confusing (to me) since they are closed at the moment.

They do show the new SE as coming soon for preorder on their splash-page!

Any good, under $100 arcade sticks for the 360?

I've seen the Hori one that is white .and another one with Dead or Alive 4 artwork..are those any good?

EDIT:
Meant, under $100.. :p

The SE stick is under 100 and is great.

The Mad Catz Fightstick SE sounds like the one you need that fits your budget. And they are out in the wild right now!

Also, if you can stretch your budget by $30 you could pick up a HRAP EX in early July. This one is well-loved...and though I'm pretty casual, it is the one I use for just about everything. It seems to get a lot of respect from hardcore players.

They're closed again? Wow... business is so good they have to keep halting orders? Weird.
Anyway, you can try setting up a new account with them first.

Just to confuse you, whenever I've ordered from them I just send Per an email. I just list the part numbers, price, quantity, where I'm located, and he adds shipping, writes back confirming the order, and I send the money. Either way it's pretty easy. If you don't already, check the akihabarashop thread at SRK's tech forum, they give lots of updates there under the username TheRealNeoGeo.

Yeah, I remember seeing that stuff at SRK and reading about emails. I'm just not so sure how they handle preorders for potentially hot items like the upcoming PS3 Seimitsu stick. I guess a trip over to the SRK forums is in order to see if they mention anything about the stick. I know GAFer Baron ordered the 360 one from them earlier this year and was pleased. Thanks.

i saw it too. too friggin expensive for one game. :(

It is so egregious, how can you not admire Hori's balls! I'm hoping the preorder price sticks and they don't raise it in October. I was really expecting $450-$500 for importers, so a little something positive. I gotta go buy VOOT now and see if I like the game. It has been a long time since I've played the arcade version.

Milky said on Retronauts that the XBLA version is a perfect port except it feels weird with the 360 controller. but i guess these twin sticks will make the experience arcade perfect. it's just too expensive for me. :lol
