It looks like you can orient it to nullify diagonals for true NSEW 4-way movement for games like Pacman or Tetris if you choose.

Nice work, great color scheme.

Oh, I get it. You just shift it up and down for three different variations. Thanks.

And, I borrowed a Dremel from my sister. Gonna get cracking on my Agetec/Seimistu mod and my Princess Peach Wii TE stick! True mods and not just switching our parts like I've been doing!

Are there any sticks that will work for all of these platforms?:
Xbox 360
PS3
Dreamcast
Saturn

I know you can use some Dreamcast sticks on the PS3. Are there at least some of these that will work on the 360 as well?
You might want to look into a cthulhu circuit board for simultaneous PS2/3 DC and Saturn support. Xbox 360 will be trickier because of the proprietary controller tech.

Yea the blue thing is the restrictor gate. Pretty ghetto but it works somewhat lol.

That is what I initially thought...something of that nature. But the plastic is way soft...doesn't seem like it would stand up to heavy use.

Very nice! That's how the stick should've been in the first place. A shooting stick using a Sanwa stick... Gawd Hori you maketh no sense!

But yeah, Seimitsu parts are a little ghetto compared to Sanwa stuff...

Yeah, and it isn't the first time either; The Oto-G Hyperstick uses a Sanwa JLF + GT-Y octagonal gate.

THE Seimitsu stick ;)

always looking for an excuse to post it...

Still wanna see the ENTIRE collection! I've come across old photos of parts doing google searcher for some of the older sticks.

Also, my BB stick is on the plane for tomorrow delivery! Not sure what color I'm changing the buttons and ball top till I get the stick in hand.

Can we see new pictures at least?
Still waiting on your TE SE, come on MarkMan and Madcatz, I have money ready to go!

Best Buy online has TE sticks available for both systems.

I was going to buy another one. But with all the games coming this month, and all the arcade sticks I purchased already...I think I will hold off on it. Til next time.

agreed on both counts - love the JDM reference, too. the white/blue reminds me of a glorious EK hatch i once saw <3

^_^ !

Wow, nice to know someone else here has one! We're among the few and the proud owners of the original SE (400 produced)...

<3

It's odd that they reproduced the original SA twice, but never the SE.

Oh well..

DoDonGouki: If you ever wanna sell it! Sell to me! xD

It's more of the I don't want to take apart anything rather than it being actually hard kinda thing. I thought it was as easy as just taking off the six top screws and kazaam!

People are using photoshop to make the templates? Anybody using gimp and want to give some pointers?

So I recently swapped out some parts on my Xbox HRAP - which was cake.

However, I couldn't figure out the right way to change out the top plate with a graphic - any tips on the process here? I'm confused because I would imagine whatever graphic your using needs to have some plastic covering on top, no?

LOL - beat me to it.

Kadey it's not easy.

I'm not easy.

Learn to live with it.

:P

jk

But yea, it's pretty easy.

I'm such a whore.

I love arcade sticks guys.

< points to title.

This has been my random post of the day.

Just found out that this stick uses square gate, which can be hard to pull of a fireball. As a X-arcade owner, I was wondering if there are any stick out there that are similar to it? I like the stick on the X-arcade because there aren't any bumps(square gates) on it.

It takes about 5 minutes to change the square gate to an octagon gate.

Agreed. The stick isn't hard to disassemble. I replaced the stick, buttons, and the faceplate graphics; as a first time modder, it really wasn't much of an effort.

Couldn't tell you how it feels compared to the TE; haven't tried that one yet.

Thanks for the reply guys, I just ordered it!:D

You're quite welcome.

Have flat/phillips head screwdrivers and a needle nose plier (or a nut driver, forgot the size) around for the disassembly. All the screw placements are pretty self explanatory; if you're even remotely knowledgeable about taking things apart, you should have no problem.

The only thing to look out for is the fact that the joystick wire is held to the stick with a bit of hot glue, so you should carefully chip the glue off if you're planning on changing the stick.

I'm not drunk!

But I did get new sticks!

Pics tomorrow I think.

EDIT: oh yea regarding stick gates...

It's hip to be square.

Standardization.

Octagons are like condoms.

It takes out all the feeling.

What? Why would you replace a perfectly good Sanwa stick on a HRAP3?

Because I want a shmup stick and thus promptly replaced it with a semitsu.

Hell even fighters are more enjoyable with the semitsu stick.

i didn't have trouble with fireballs on a square gate, just takes a little getting used to so you don't ride the edge of the gate. i did switch to octagon so i could do chun's stomp more consistently but i found that doing SRKs on octogate is harder than the square. I'd say stick with the square and adapt to it.

I really tried to get used to and like the square gate for basically the reason you mentioned (it's the de facto standard now), but I eventually gave up and got an Octogate... and cursed myself for not doing it earlier as soon as I got it installed. I just can't ever get used to doing SRKs with the square gate. =/

Ah, completely understood.

I really don't get why people want to use stick switch massive deadzones, but to each their own; I'm not good enough to judge. :lol

Regardless, I've the LS-56-01 and the deadzone is almost non-existent; love it.

That's awesome. I love parts.

Definitely post about this when you're done! I've got two Goblins I want to paint black (to match my SEGA Sports DC), and then do one with green Sanwa parts and one with pink Seimeitsus. I'm hoping I can do it without too much trouble.

I'll trade some TEs towards some sticks I want to build up my collection more... so if anyone is interested (they are new), let me know...

Lookin for some hot fiyah.
