NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread

Anyone want to buy my arcade-in-a-box 360 stick? All Happ parts, extremely solid, just like new. It's just a bit big/heavy for my preferred playing posture (laid back in the recliner). Retails for $165 plus shipping, make me an offer if you're interested. See http://arcadeinabox.com for background.

EDIT: This one also includes the headset port, which was an option - works with any headset except for the 360 version (old xbox, 2.5mm cell phone, etc)

It will be pretty ridiculous if it's already too late to preorder one and CES isn't even over yet. Seriously, MarkMan.

EDIT: I'm refering to the SF4 TE stick.

yeah, i'm a concave button man myself.

i'll be swapping out the TE hardware to match my 2-slot setup as closely as possible.

Looking for some advice here.

I have a Hori Fighting Stick 3 for my PS3 and a SC4 stick for 360, so I am covered there.

I want to build a custom stick (or buy one maybe if its a good price) that I can use on my Wii (gc port), Xbox 1, and Dreamcast.

I have a Playstation to GC/Xbox converter and I see Playstation to Dreamcast converters on ebay.

Is my best bet to build one with a PS1/2 pad hack and then using those converters to use it on the systems I want?

I these a few days ago off play-asia, I really like them. Total spent: $64.03. Works with PS3, PC and PS2. Those SFIV $150 sticks are over rated/hyped and over priced in my opinion.

Broken Fun indeed.

No thanks, that definitely looks cheap.

I will echo sentiments about GameStop and the TE stick preorders... I will destroy worlds if that's not in and ready for me... it's all paid for.

Join me...together we shall annihilate this pathetic planet should our TE stick demands not get met.

is the TE deep enough to house those parts?

aren't the 30 mm button holes a little to big, too?

i was planning on using a thread adapter to replace the ball top with a bat. i'll probably wait and see on the buttons.

No one? May have to take a gamble. Don't think I could play games without my controller i've been using for 8 years.

Ferrio, there was this great converter I had called MagicBox iirc. Lag free but impossible to find these days.

I may have a couple of these laying around...it was for Xbox and let you use Saturn/PS1&2/Gamecube controllers on Xbox.

all this hype and not a single word of a canadian release, ive even emailed diff madcatz employees to no avail. if canada doesnt even get a taste of this stick, heads are gonna roll:lol

What terrible sticks. Might as well not even sell them. I cannot believe you would even try to sell these.

Just give them all to me!!!!!!
In all seriousness amazing work.

Just answer me this. Can we expect more sticks from madcatz any time soon?

I hope so. I want to get one more stick around the time Tekken 6 comes out.

So.... most converters have lag or something?

I'm contemplating getting a damn Xbox but the though of shelling out 150 for a new stick when I have one that I've poured quite a bit of money into already and am really used to really puts me off the idea.

Regarding artwork.

It was just something you couldn't do without voiding warranty. But it is VERY easy to do. I'll say how/why over the weekend.

I just preordered from Gamestop.

Is it normal that on the receipt it doesn't specify which stick and which version of SF4? (CE or regular)

The number on the receipt for the PS3 TE stick is 802997 and the SF4 CE PS3 number is 270300. Can anyone else confirm these are right? They better not screw this up.

BTW, I did my part and preordered. If I miss out, MarkMan and Madcatz will be personally responsible!

When I preorderd multiplat games it never specified which console it was for, so I think it's in their system.

I'm more concerned whether or not it's the CE or regular version of the game, and that it's the right stick (not the cheaper one)

With Amazon running out of pre-orders already... expect Canada to get the shaft on this one. I can't say I understand it... seeing as how we have a pretty large gaming community/market. If only 3000 sticks are made though... yeah... not going to happen.

You should go ask and make sure so you don't end up getting screwed.

Seth says an american style ball stick can fit in the box or any stick on the market. Are we to take it as it is deep enough to hold a Happ?

No not Happ.

A Sanwa bat top yes. But not a Happ.

BTW. If your retailer doesn't come through, its cuz they didn't do preorders right. Sorry, none of this is in my control. You miss out, you miss out. ;(

I hope Lizard Lick got the numbers right, being in Aus I didn't have many options. If it falls through for some reason I will have to build my own I guess.

I just think madcatz should adjust the quanity they are producing based on preorder numbers. If there really are 3000 being made, and preorders exceed that greatly, it'd be stupid not to raise the amount produced.

Is there any chance of them making a new batch or is this the only one?

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck...Just bought a HRAP3, and then I watched Gamestop's CES movie on the fucking TE. I need reassurance that the HRAP3 is a great controller, and will work fine with SF4. Otherwise, I'm going to spend money I don't have on that bloody TE stick. The HRAP3 is great, right guys?

Stupid Markman and his amazing arcade stick modelled after the SF4 cab...

do you play Marvel??

I may be wrong, but competition buttons started to become more popular due to the ease of sliding your hand across buttons, a la triangle jumping and stuff

Glad I pre-ordered a TE now that I see how moddable these are. I want to color me buttons and put in an octagonal plate!
