I have a quick question and hope that someone may have a answer.
I am looking to find silent cherry switches for my arcade stick's buttons. Do they make them? or is it some thing I would have to mod?
This is the only thing I found....but wanted to see if I could just by them outright.

I feel a little guilty laying down almost $80 on parts when I'm hardly a hardcore gamer of any type, never mind a hardcore shooter or fighter player. you must install XBCD drivers to get the 360 version to work on a PC, its not a simple HID deviceLiK said:

I'm not sure if this will help or not considering that the poster in this forum didn't state which version of XP he had but I hope it does. Unfortunately this might only be a fix for wired controller and not wireless. Fortunately the Madcatz accessories for the 360 are wired .

I am thinking about buying a PS3 HORI Real Arcade Pro Stick 3.
Now, i bought VF5 as my first PS3 game 2 years ago and i sold it the day after since i was on a tight budget (600 euro for the console!) and it felt like R:FOM was a better first game.
I have not played many fighters before, at least not as complex as the VF series. I mostly play FPS online. Now, i wonder, should i buy a arcade stick with VF5 and then SFIV. I have not been addicted to a fighter game since SC2 and before that Tekken 3.
I mean is the difference between a stick and a d-pad so big that even if you mainly played FPS online shooters for the last 2 years, you would still get hooked on VF5 or SFIV?

judging by the avatars on this forum 90% of the people blowing crazy money on FSSE and FSTEs will go back to their Kilzones and CoDs and other fpses 2 weeks after SF4 is out.Swedomu said:

There are probably going to be a lot of reviews from joystick "experts", so mine review is more a Joe Average look at how I thought the stick ended up being.

Interesting review Eric. I'm glad you prefaced the article by saying you were not a joystick aficionado and explaining your interest or curiosity in the Fight Stick.
And...in other topics, isn't the LS-32 difficult to place in the HRAPs because of the mounting?
Arcadeshock finally mailed out my HRAP EX. Apparently, they didn't realize I paid for the item in full via paypal in August (hmm...how many months did we have to wait).
I do think the fervor right now with SFIV is probably going to die down after a month. From looking at the HD Remix thread, it seems like there is a small fighting game community at GAF (Seiken, Eggo, Ferrio, Akuma001, Haunts, Tekno, Guttertrash, MTHanded, Yeb, Mark, COAndy, Accronym, etc). But I'm happy Capcom and Madcatz were able to generate a level of buzz for fighting games.

Also, another question for anybody who has gotten their HRAP EX from Arcade Shock. Amazon has a photo of it with the good button layout. I'm thinking it is an older stock photo but I'm curious if they changed it for the North American release version.

The difference between a stick and pad is definitely big, but it's really up to you, which you'll prefer. Growing-up during the glory days of arcades, hunting down every mall, 7-Eleven, or pizza parlor with a SFII machine, it'll be like returning home for me, once I get my arcade stick. Although, I do recognize that the feel will be different from the Happ parts I played on, in the past.Swedomu said:

For me, I'm looking forward to using it for more than just SFIV. My PS2 Capcom Collections and SF3:3S come to mind. In fact, in light of the revelation that, barring a firmware update, the MadCatz sticks won't be usable with PS2 games on PS3, I'm considering getting a HRAP3, also.

I think it's just like the HRAP, JLF, just judging by the shaft cover (Hori levers usually do without, right) and Hori buttons. It would be neat if here was an LS-32 in there instad of a JLF.
