It's still kind of confusing on how to make a faceplate for the stick, I mean can someone like find me a simple guide on how to make it, and how to print it, and cut the things?

Vertopci gave you a link to a detailed how to. There's even a Photoshop template made there for the HRAP3's

taken from SRK

1. disassemble the stick
2. remove the buttons
3. remove the ball top, dust cover, and shaft cover
4. remove the turbo (optional)
4. peel off stock art from metal plate
5. print the custom art
6. trim the art with scissors
7. cut holes with x-acto knife, dont forget the holes for the screws.
8. get art laminated
9. trim with scisors and cut holes out again
10. spray the back of the art and paste it onto the metal plate
11. install buttons, shaft cover, dust cover, ball top, and screws
12. assemble the stick.

In that link I gave you, download teh template and add your design to the bottom layer.

Take it to kinkos and get it printed out on glossy paper. Laminate it there as well.

Peel off the stock sticker thingy on the HRAP3. Remove buttons and stick. Spray your printed out thingy and paste onto the HRAP3 faceplate. put stick and buttons back

Ok thanks, now I'm thinking of what my faceplate should be.

I have been through so many console/computer generations that shelling out heaps of money on a peripheral for just one generation seems like a waste to me. More power to you guys, but I cant convince myself to spend so much money on a stick that will no longer work when the next console generation starts.

Am I missing something?

Well, the next generation hasn't even been announced, so who knows when it's coming. Second, your Xbox 360/PS3 doesn't stop working when a new generation comes along.

People are still using PS1 sticks on their PS3s. (markman :D ).
----------------------
I was trying to get a HRAP EX in my Gold Box at Amazon.

I couldn't wait.

Amazon hadn't changed my Gold Box deals and I wanted my HRAP EX ASAP, so I ordered it with one day shipping, I had to get in before their shipping cut off time. It'll be here tomorrow.

Total was $133.98.

Now, I just need to take back my FS SE.

Yeah, you might be missing that gaming is a hobby to most of us so it is not always defined by utility. A lot of us are older now and often buy things just for fun with the notion that a lot of it might just never be used that much.

I dunno, I average about 100 games per anum so a few sticks and multiple systems each year really isn't much. And I usually only beat about twenty games per year.

Besides, next gerneration will have its own pripherals to buy.

Think of it as dependent on how much mileage you can get out of it. I bought an Agetec DC stick last year because my friends and I still play Dreamcast. Tons of people still use PS1/2 sticks on current-gen systems via converters.

The great thing about this gen is the sticks utilize USB and double as PC controllers.

Jesus Christ it's impossible to get the screws out of the mounting plate on stock stick that ships with standard fight stick.I managed to get 1 out,but the other 3 are now f-ing stripped. The one on the right side came out with such ease.

I'm glad I bought the Sanwa JLF with it's own mounting plate, hopefully I won't have problems with those screws when I need to rotate the PCB.

Just wanted to check the stock PCB and now I can't.

Hurry up Lizard Lick :(

I'm assuming there is no way to access the washer (the washer that's scraping up people's PCBs) without taking off that plate? I've never taken a stick apart before so excuse my ignorance. I'd like to try to fix the issue myself to hold me over until my Sanwa comes but I keep hearing that the stock plate is a complete bitch to get off.

You have to take the mounting plate off sadly, you cant access the washer/PCB without getting it off.Unless you can take the restrictor plate off, which I cant seem to do :\

When I get my JLF,I'm still going to check if I can get it to work without having to rotate the PCB.

Just emailed Lizard Lick with this very question in regards to the SE stick. I'll post whenever they reply. I may end up getting a Seimitsu though just cuz I'm curious on how those sticks feel compared to Sanwa.

Does anyone have a hands-on evaluation of workmanship (the box, really) between the SE Fightstick and the HRAP EX (assuming a full sanwa mod for both)? My little brother is really warming up to SF4 and I want to get him a good stick to play with. Sadly, I don't have any more VSHG's to share and who knows how long it's going to take for my second TE to show up. I know what to expect from the HRAP (obviously I've had a bunch and the HRAP2 SA is in my keeper lineup) but I haven't had hands on the SE.

Cool.

Looking at the insides I believe it's possible to do it without rotating, but it would be a tighter fit.

Again I could be totally wrong,my first time doing this.

ughhh someone on SRK posted .... "I warned you all about the screws! And yes, the Sanwa ones seem to be just as easy to strip. "

f-ing great :(

I hope this thread helped out a lot of people because this thread is filled with awesome gentz (and ladies if you're ever out there lol).

Girls don't like sticks.

Dunno, my wife was pretty impressed by the TE stick :D

The again, shes a gamer, but hey.

sucky situation and the factories qc is definitely in question... NO EXCUSE!

this is STREET FIYTA FO

Im not sure whats going on in that thread, I mean we talked already Mark. If there was an issue where Madcatz wasn't honoring warranties I could understand but they are going nuts over there and the personal attacks are ridiculous. The cosmetic issues are easily fixed. Qc is definitely an issue I agree but its not like you built them, boxed them up and hand delivered them.

Actually Seeing as how the PS3 uses USB ports, I wouldn't be surprised to find the arcade stick works for the PS4

At least I hope

What's the problem with getting the restrictor plate off?

It's on really bad, hard as hell to pop off. Thanks to some help at SRK I got it off using a flat head and that was still a bitch.

My PCB...

That's not what she said.

Well, I for one, now own my first arcade stick because of this thread and all the help from everyone in it. Sure, an EX2 is nothing to write home about, but I already put an order in to mod the gate to an 8 way and change the top from the stock ball top to a Sanwa bat top. :D

WOW....I only used mine for 45 minutes tops. I wonder how bad mine is. I think I'm gonna pop mine out today. Are you going to glue down the washer?

Not sure if i'm even going to bother gluing it down.I have a fightpad so I might just use that till I get my Sanwa parts.

Also I think i have used the stick for only about two or three hours total...just ughhh

Yeah it's terrible. I think I'm gonna try to glue mine down. I just want something to last me until my Sanwa gets here and I just know my SE won't make it through the weekend with that washer scraping the PCB. I'm getting the game Wednesday and I put in the order for the stick yesterday.

At this point I wish MadCatz would have just sold us the damn shell without a stick/buttons for a cheaper price. After reading some reports I'm not trusting the buttons either...hopefully I get a couple months out of those.

the SFIV SE stick is too small for my hand ;( i need it to move like a couple inches to the right.

i think i'll just swap out the joystick later. haven't had any sticking problems yet though.

I agree.

I just got an HRAP EX for my 360. I'm loving it. It's also great playing arcade style XBLA games like PacMan CE on a proper joystick.

Now I want to get a stick my PS3. I have a 60 gigger so that would also cover my substantial fighting collection on the PS2.

I could see how buying these things can get addicting.

Anyone know what the situation is with the availability of the Madcatz SE stick? I really want to pick one up but everywhere is sold out. Is it the same situation as the TE stick or will they be shipping more out soon?

Hey MM, why isn't the SF4 TE stick multiplatform? I thought that was a really nice feature for the SFAE stick, and I've been wondering why no one has yet to make a MP stick for the current gen consoels when they all use USB...

I don't think either MS or Sony (maybe just MS) allow for multiplatform accessories, plus they use different USB standards.

I believe it's 11AM PST.

When you're looking at a page, it'll say "Order within X amount of hours, minutes to get it by (next day) if you choose one-day shipping"

EDIT: Like this:

Want it delivered Tuesday, February 17? Order it in the next 0 hours and 51 minutes, and choose One-Day Shipping at checkout.

Because you need to license the XID protocol from MS, they will never approve a stick that works on both.

Oh ok, cool. I've always wondered how it worked.

It's amazing how shitty the metal washer is,every motion I make with the stick it lifts up and scrapes/scratches the PCB.Again I'm too lazy to glue it down, but hopefully you can get it fixed till your parts come in.

I ordered 6 Sanwa buttons and two plugs. The MadCatz buttons seem totally fine on my SE,but I knew the stick was f-ed.

Does UPS ship today even though it is president's day???? I'm suppose to get my HRAP3 from amazon and it said Feb. 16th is the estimated arrival date. I tracked the package and it is 40 mins away from my house. They scanned that it ARRIVED at like 1:30am this morning...then scanned that it ARRIVED again at the same place at 3:50am. You guys think I'm getting my stick today?

UPS ships and delivers today.I got a ups package from amazon today. If you don't get your stick today it's cause you have a stupid UPS driver or something.

Is there a tutorial, guide, or anything on modding a 360 TE to work on the PS3? I have both pre-ordered but if I can get away with modding it I'd do it in a heart beat. I've never soldered anything before, but I've modded other electronics.

Sorry for the shitty iPhone pic, but here's my PCB after 45 minutes of use with a bum washer:

poor pcb[img]
Cant tell if its as bad as mine, but for not even 1 hour of play its pretty damn close :(

That's about 45 minutes of messing around on HD Remix over the course of two days. I was doing dragon punch/fireball motions almost exclusively to get a feel for the stick (again it's the demo, so there's only so much I can do anyway when I can't play against the comp or people online - I was playing a "dummy" second player)

Yeah after hearing about this washer issue a couple of days ago I decided to cancel my preorder at amazon and I ordered a HRAP3 instead. After seeing a lot more reports about the issue since then I'm glad I made that move.

Wow. I'm getting an SE stick with my TE, but it looks like I won't even bother with the stock parts in it and just put in a JLF and some OBSF-30s as soon as I get it.

The smart thing to do.

Ugh, I can't wait any longer! I'm waiting for my tax refund to get here, then I'll be able to get my HRAP and SF4.

WHERE'S MY REFUND?! :lol

Wow, I'm sorry for that. I've ordered one SE myself, still waiting for it though, since I ordered it through amazon.co.uk.

Is there an easy way to detect that defect before is too late? Is there an easy way to fix it? It'd be very helpful to future owners of this stick if you could help with these questions.

Thanks in advance :)
