Nice, I popped off an order for a plexiglass. Did not know somebody was doing this. Hopefully it is decent quality and not too scratch-prone or too thick.

Which makes me wonder, if anybody has had custom glass cut. Probably far too expensive but I'd certainly like to see that.

i've got two acrylic templates from arthong and they're great, i got the thinnest one he sells and they fit fine on my hrap3 with sanwa buttons.

The money is right but the timing is off. You've gotta wait till the Hori sticks come back in stock which seems the end of april at the earliest.

Also, there are branded sticks arriving but they might be a bit beyond your price range. Surely there will be more stick announcements for the summer fighters, KoF XII and BlazBlue with the usual suspects positioning there sticks around these titles. I'm expecting domestic HRAP 3s and EXs to become available again.
Is there a global shortage on hori stick? I just want a HRAP 3 but it's impossible to find.

So this small graphic was added to the play-asia listing of the BalzBlue stick. What are these? Stickers and move card? Can't seem to find the high-res listing on the Hori (JPN) store.

So after MadCatz made the splash with easy to mod sticks with quick disconnects and what not, is there any reason why other companies don't follow this and make it a standard persay? Is it more expensive to do so?

I can't see myself buying any stick in the future that isn't easy to mod and doesn't have quick disconnects.

pretty much...my local shop restocked their HRAP 3's but now charge $175! a month ago they were $99....

Yakisoba - you should wait for the HRAP3 to come back in stock. Should be soon enough!

I have to assume it's much more expensive than the more common "clone parts soldered directly to the circuit board" method many manufacturers employ. The manufacturer saves on wiring and OEM arcade control part costs.

I was spoiled by HRAP after an aggravating FSEX2 mod, and I sure won't be going back either.

I need one of these too but $5 for shipping, what the F is up with that? Also, is this the only tool we need to put in our buttons for the hrap?

i picked up a set of various sizes locally from home depot its like 16 bucks for 5-11 mm sizes might be useful for other stuff too.

Damn this thread and all the joystick craziness/shortages. I went ahead and bought a HRAP amazonjp edition from ebay. I have a good amount of fighting games on my PS2 so I figured I need a decent stick for it. Plus I have a pelican adapter so it'll work nicely for my PS3 and PC. The "vewlix" layout is nice too, I just wish the L1/L2 were at the other end. Did Hori just abandon this layout altogether?

Oh and I like the color orange.

Hori brought the old layout out of retirement for the Arcana Heart 2 stick.

I think they changed the layout of the mainline HRAPs to mimic a typical arcade panel's button array (think about the button arrangement in a Sega Astro City panel, for example), but I don't know for sure.

Speaking of adapting, does the HRAP 2 SA work on the PS3 with an adapter? I have one but not the adapter. If so, that might be a good stick option as they are only $199 on eBay and it is one beautiful stick.

Holy crap they're already here. Maybe I forgot to check my email yesterday? Still this is amazing. So quick question for the other folks that changed their designs on their sticks. You guys went with Kinkos and lami-label right? About how much does that run usually? I forget, didn't some of you also say they'll do the cutting for you there too?

Do I need to solder anything if I get a SE stick and want to mod it with new parts?

edit: by mod i mean fix the stick so i don't get that issue where it gets stuck in one direction.

depends on the adapter. the best is still the pelican but it's out of production for some odd reason. so yeah PS2 sticks are definitely an option (for PS3 owners) if you have the right adapter.

according to the converter thread on SRK you can pickup a HAIS adapter which still works after the 2.7 update broke compat with the TAC and Sumoto adapters. has a psn home button on it and you can simulate the button press from the stick by pressing up and select at the same time. The Inpin and pelicans still work

So where are people getting their Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons if Lizardlick and Akihabarashop aren't currently taking orders? :\

It's just a matter of waiting. And do it ASAP when they open. Akihabara will be open in May.

I have the same stick and I use an InPin adapter. Lagless, no problems.

It works on PC, but it has an issue with certain USB host adapters (notably those of nVidia chipsets) where the stick is detected but the buttons would not register.

Christ, I think the hardest part to the modding experience at least if you're going with lamilabel etc. is cutting and applying the damn art. I've failed 3 times now. I end up tearing it, or it has too many air bubbles. The 3rd try was so close too, except i ended up placing it too far left. ARGH. So much rigorous trial and error. Here's hoping to god the 4th time works out. My kinkos is 24 hours but its too damn late. Might be better to start fresh for tomorrow.

Here's one of the failures. Argh.

On top of kinkos, I think I need to get new blades.

correction: Hardest part isn't so much the art as having to deal with the step where you replace the screws to refasten the plate back to the case. Sigh.

Wow, are you using the guillotine at Kinkos? Better to get a cheapy X-acto at home depot and an inexpensive metal straight edge and do it at home.

It's hit and miss. It doesn't work on certain Motherboards. If you find that it doesn't work, the current "fix" is to install a PCI USB card with the VIA chipset which Best Buy sells under the Dynex brand.

I think mine is Intel X58, does it work?
