What would you like to know? It's based off of the Softbank 920SH that's only sold in Japan. This is kinda a international version that's unlocked so you don't have to use a simcard hack in order to use the phone (thus the higher price tag).

It's got a REAL WVGA 3.2" Sharp Aquos screen that's amazingly sharp and bright. It's the best screen I've seen so far and I buy a new phone every few months. The camera is good, but it's not as good as some of the Nokia phones I've used (like my N82). It's because they are using a CMOS sensor.

Video playback is what's this phone is all about (The video player on SX862 can read H.264, MP4, 3GP, and ASF files). I didn't really use my phone to watch movies (some music videos while heading to school) but now I think I'm going to have to encode some movies to watch on my trips!

Thanks, I currently have an N82. So basically the screen is what it's all about? I always use my PSP to watch movies, so guess I'll be okay. I thought it would be some kind of ultra high tech mobile phone from Japan. Still, very nice phone! It really shines in the way it looks. How's gaming on it?

I haven't plug it in yet, to be safe I ordered a voltage converter, even though it's only minor differences between US and Japan, but I have tons of appliances and I don't want to risk a burn out.

If I remember I'll PM you my impressions once I set it up, it's greeted with positive reviews online and on avsforum, one of the many reasons I decided to get this instead of the Pioneer one.

Please PM me too, if you'd like. Does it blow the Z-5500 away? A friend of mine said the surround mode sounds fake, but he's like the purest guy out there.

I like the way you organize by Studio. I've always done that when my collections are small then I move to alpha as they get bigger.

Official boxsets are always super overpriced - dodgy Chinese copies are the way to go. Yeah, they're pretty basic - just a cheap box with a bunch of dvds in sleeves inside, but the dvds are usually identical to their US counterparts (menus and all) except with optional Chinese subtitles. You can get all 10 seasons of SG1 for about £50, all 9 seasons of X-Files for £35 and 17 seasons of Simpsons for £65.

Indeed, it's cheaper to buy chinese copies. But since my friends & parents sometimes borrow my movies, I'm compelled to purchase the original ones. And my GF has basic knowledge of the English language and therefor need to read the Dutch subtitles on all movies...

You're correct sir - I'm in the UK though & we have some importers that can source US DVD releases 2-3 weeks before they hit the shelves in US stores

I am in the UK as well my good fellow and could you possible link me to some importers which offer such US DVD releases? Mainly of course Dexter season 2. I cant wait for UK release, we only just got the first season.

Got my Logitech diNovo Edge delivered today. Pretty slick keyboard, comes with a charging stand (still in its plastic wrap)

Trackwheel similar to what's on a laptop. Above this is the audio volume control.

Yeah, the screen is the BIG reason to have this phone. I'm not super "OMG you're not cool unless you have a Japanese phone" type of guy. I've always loved Sharp's screens that they use for their phones, and the current Nokia phones I own have nice screens but nothing like this one! The N82 is a solid phone for the money (I LOVE the build quality too) but they make their screens either super small, or big and low rez. I guess you can't win them all :lol

As far as games on this, I've got Ridge Racer (plays a lot better then I thought it would, and it looks great!), Taiko No Tatsujin (super fun, but I sound like a idiot playing it) and some other game that I didn't try yet. My friend is going to hook me up with Street Fighter, DMC and some Gundam games when he gets back to Canada.
