Can't believe Sigma is making camera. Will be interested to see where it will go and hope it survive than Samsung.

Didn't they already try this using a Foveon sensor?
pretty much
the MILC version is the same mount so they just made the body smaller.
did you get the pink one?
They had the DP Merrill too I think. Slow as fuck, but apparently ridiculous sharpness and detail.
No I got a regular old black one. Someone was selling one on ebay with two lenses, sd card and a carry case for 500.
I like their lenses, I don't ever see myself getting one of their cameras though. Those Sigma SDs are hilarious. "Hi, I want a camera that's a mirrorless, but then I want to make sure that it has the same flange distance as a DSLR, completely negating the fact that you made it a MILC".
Yea the output is very good. I've seen a lot of comparison of the output between it and the Pixel Shift mode in K-3 II (which is basically trying to emulate the Foveon sensor).
Nice, are they the 18-55 and 50-200 WR lenses?
A Craigslist find... I wanted more of a beater. But it was priced really well and I love the titanium finish vs. the regular silver. The condition is almost too perfect. I showed it to a friend and he didn't believe it was 20 years old.
I'm going to be covering events for my job...I really wish they made an affordable 70-200 2.8 lens or a decent equivalent for crop sensors.

Nikon F mount. Sigma made a 2.8 50-150 but it's hard to find these days. They do. What mount do you have?

Is the timelapse "app" for the A7R actually paid for through microtransactions?
I keep hearing the recent Tamron is better since I don't think the Sigma version has been updated in years. I'm not sure if I want to walk into a room with what is essentially a 105-300mm lens. Plus I'm not rich, at all. If I get that lens I'd just rather get a D750 to go with it or at the very least a 610.Are the Sigma or Tamron 70-200mm lenses out of the question? The more recent versions of those lenses have been pretty impressive and a fraction of the cost of their Nikon/Canon/Sony counterparts.

Can anyone recommend a good macro lens for the Canon 70D. I want to be able to take very, very closeup pictures and I want it to be good for filmmaking as well. I've been looking at the Canon EF 100mm 2.8, which seems like an amazing lens, but is it going to be the best I can get for extreme closeup photography?
Thanks for any advice!

Yes which is almost the same price as the 2.8 zooms. Considering the fact that I do intend to eventually go full frame and I get more reach with those zooms as well. It's something I'm going to eventually have to figure out at some point.Sigma just announced the 50-100mm f1.8 a few days ago for APS-C cameras.
What's the insurance fee with that type of thing? Last time I even checked they had no third party lenses for rent. Why not just rent the lenses you need for the events rather than buying them? You should have lots of places in New York that do that.

I should check out lensrental.Com and just have the stuffed shipped to my job since sending stuff like that to my house is a pain since it's usually empty these days. Though I would prefer to just own the stuff.
Pfft a certain politician is fucking with our budget.Maybe talk to your job and you could expense the rentals.
I'm afraid to Google that thing. Probably costs more than I make in a year.Scarlet-W Allocated...
Now we wait...

Well that's not the nightmare scenario I thought it was, still will never pass through these hands. I'd like to mess around with an A7 long term. I hope it's UI is better than the A6000 though, too many damn menus. I'd really have to relearn a camera with how Sony operates.Haha it ain't actually that bad(around $10K). I've been talking to my boss about it the past few weeks, but we've kinda settled on the Sony A7R II for our 4k video needs since we can easily get a Metabones or whatever mount to hook up my Nikon lenses... plus that'll also let us get 3 A7R II's lol.

Depending on situations I usually just change my iso, but I'm used to just having that being a dedicated button on my camera. I guess I could make that a custom button if I'm not mistaken right? I really have no interest in investing into the expensive Sony lens ecosystem, but I'm always trying to be open minded on the whole thing.Same menus, but more dials so you see it less. And it's not that bad unless you obsessively like changing things that aren't in the Fn menu.
What did you intend on purchasing? There's learning your camera and at the same time there's learning your lens.I was looking at making a lens purchase, but I think I want to take a minute to learn my camera.
If I'm not mistaken I thought below iso 100 was a very body specific thing. I think the expensive Leica's can, but I'm not sure. If I ever do anything astro related I'd have to see what's the slowest shutter speed I can do and how to access it. I know certain other dial settings are some very weird automatic settings that I opt to not use.
Oh, now I understand. Yeah I think Nikon pretty much has the same way of turning auto iso on and off across their DSLR range. Seems to make jumping from body to body easy for the most part minus the difference between other things. The 750 is almost laid out the same as my 7100, the 810 on the other hand...much different. Thing got rid of the mode dial, now it's just a mode button and you hold that down and use a scroll wheel to change it. I can't imagine how different Canon's are, but so far the Sony cameras just weird me out the most. What even is that bulb symbol?Oh no, I meant when you scroll past ISO 100 you get to ISO Auto similar to how when you scroll up the shutter speed past 30 seconds you get bulb (in manual mode at the very least).
I used ISO 100 because that's the base in most DSLRs.
