The only thing I changed was to make waivers "First game of the week to Sunday". As Rinker pointed out, the waivers were set this way from day one and no one complained
NO EXCUSES!

You've been in the Online NBA/Madden leagues long enough to know any changes are *bulleted*/bolded/italicized/underlined/highlighted/your effect of choice.

The main thing you can learn is this:

There aren't 16 competitive QBs in the NFL. And there aren't 32 competitive RBs either.

TEs are a crapshoot, and there are well over 32 competitive WRs.

In a 16 team league, take lots of RBs, and if you can't get a top 5 QB, you'd better hope you can luck your way into a Cam Newton.

That change was to fix the loophole of guys still being FAs after playing Thursday games. If you read the first post of this thread from back in June, the waiver system is mentioned and no one objected >_<

ps: I think it's working fine BTW. With the slim pickings, it's only fair that the bottom-feeders get first dibs lol

LOL, no.

There's maybe one good FA a week. Somehow minx gets all of them, but his team still sucks.

Auction is by far the fairest method, because each owner can bid based on how valuable a player would be for his team considering his needs.

That's for damn sure. I say fuck 16 teams next year, just of 14 max and split it into 2 leagues.

Two bad we can't do 2 divisions, each with 14 people. Yet each division is their own league. Winner of one division faces the winner or the 2nd.

FAAB or Continual rolling list, whichever one. I think both have alot of strategy. Actually you can use both!

I don't like auction because I like being able to make as many moves as I can. But we can vote on it next season :p

And I still think 16 teams is fine. The FA pool will be deeper if we allow PR/KR stats like we discussed a while ago. Anyways, it's a moot point this season.

We could do that, but we'd have to set aside the yahoo playoff system and just keep track of the scores ourselves.

It's quite another thing to call a person "stupid" or "an idiot" for certain decisions. I think it's not the questioning but what is said by some people others may take umbrage.
I've scoured both this thread and the wrestling thread for the exact usage of the words "stupid" or "an idiot" from yours truly about your fantasy acumen and have come up empty. I see Puddles calling Sinistar an idiot for taking Ryan in the 2nd round as well as calling the Earth stupid on multiple occasions, I see LevelNth calling himself an idiot, I see Cloudy decrying Rivers' stupid playmaking decisions on the field and I see sf2fanatic calling the guy who dumped Hernandez in his league an idiot but nothing from me.

Clearly I don't know what the hell I'm talking about given that I've only got one winning record across three GAF leagues so nobody should be taking my opinion seriously regardless.

Anyhow, I'm clearly in a trading mindset this week.

I've agreed with Puddles in principal to a deal that will swing LaDainian Tomlinson over to his RB-depleted team for Lance Moore.

Now I'm posting this blurb here in light of the fact that I don't believe Yahoo! will be pushing through the outstanding trade with The Big Blue Crew 3 until Saturday morning (making it too late for Puddles to insert LT into his active lineup for Monday night). So...

I'm announcing the trade here (and shortly on the league's message board) to give you guys the standard 48-hour trade approval process. Provided there are no objections to either trade, Cloudy has agreed to push through the Moore-LT deal manually on Monday so Puddles will have time to insert Tomlinson into his starting lineup.

FAAB still allows you to make unlimited moves with the way it's been set up in the Economy League. You can bid $0 on guys and still claim them on waivers provided you haven't been outbid. And you can pick up unlimited free agents once the weekly waiver run has been completed.

Incidentally, I'm in another league with a max cap of 25 transactions for the entire season and it fundamentally changes one's waiver strategy. I totally screwed up a team last year by clearing through all my roster moves early and not having the ability to plug injury holes in the final weekend which cost me my playoff spot. This year I'm being ultra-selective with my pickups and it's actually been kind of fun.

There is no way to push trades through (that I can see) but I can edit your rosters as long as there's no objections to the trade (or from the opponent who might be affected by the fast-tracking of the trade to enable a 2nd one lol)

... I'm not calling you out by name as saying it. That post was directed at everyone, but I included you in it because you talk about alot of teams (positively or negatively).

Bottom line, I try not to give advice/talk about teams of people in my own league unless it's in obvious jest. Just me I guess.... waitaminte wrestling thread? Why look there?

Dude, you posted a link to our fantasy matchup there inviting everyone to watch you smack my team down last weekend. There was trash talk aplenty in both threads.

After you lost to the Broskis you lost a match to Jim Ross. That's easily worse than losing to my team.

That's PrimeTime's call. I certainly wouldn't blame him for raising an objection. Money leagues are serious business.

The Frankman said:
Oh BTW before the season started you said you were joining Cloudy's league specifically to defeat The Nation 2.0. So... yeah, you started that. :jakncoke
I hope we both make the playoffs so we can have a winner-takes-all rematch and The Nation 2.0 actually shows up to play instead of goofing off.

The wrestling thread was more about the fact of our teams names, no one is going to dissect Fantasy Football shit there, it's "The Nation 2.0 vs. Long Island Broskis"

Oh BTW before the season started you said you were joining Cloudy's league and were looking to defeat The Nation 2.0. So... yeah, you started that. :jakncoke

I sign off on this trade.

Also, every time I've called someone an idiot or told someone to fuck himself in this thread, it was tongue in cheek. I don't think any of you are actually idiots or should go fuck yourselves.

I just want to avoid a repeat of last year. I would hope people aren't serious, but as it was posted earlier, "Money leagues are serious business".

Don't take it Puddles. DON'T TAKE IT! Trade with me, I'M THE MAVERICK!!!!

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVVVVVVVVERRRRIIIIICKKKKKKKKKKK..........
I hope your future sight abilities don't come into play with our current deal.
I was counting on Lloyd getting plenty of Tebow love and that's looking like it won't be the case any more. :(

whaaaaaaat. 8 teams make the playoffs? only 4 in my league (14 teams, two divisions, 7 per division).
Yeah, we are heathens. 8 teams should never make the playoffs; it feels so wrong. But you almost have to in this case.

For giggles check the Transactions list from Day 1. Lot of interesting moves!

HEY NOW!

It's true sadly, but injuries really hurt me

Yahoo projections really suck.

They kept projecting every trade idea I had to harm my team in the long run, because they keep projecting Danny Woodhead to score 6-8 points per week for the rest of the season.

If I thought Danny Woodhead had any chance of scoring 6-8 points per week, I wouldn't have been trying so hard to make a trade. Dude has like 17 points on the year.

And that's before Kevin Faulk enters the mix once he returns from the PUP list.

You could always do the mental gymnastics to deduce what your end trade result would be with Woodhead out of the equation. When a projection is clearly dubious, ignore that big red number and offer away.

Wow, Blount out for several weeks. Hopefully Graham keeps the top job
Go team! Injuries just decimated me. With 16 teams you can't afford to have any significant ones, especially to the top picks (Andre, Blount, Dez). At least Freeman and DWill are living up to their ADP.... Oh wait. Anyways, I wonder who I will get with this weeks #1 waiver wire pick. And next week it's Tebow time!

daniel thomas or mark ingram???????? in a league with 14 guys. me and one other kid are at the top and playing each other this week.

Cloudy said:
Ugh I gave up on Stewart too quick? :(

At least it sabotages another good team if Puddles wins lol
Yeah, I had to wonder out loud at that move... should have been able to command more from JStew in an RB-depleted league. I made the LT switch because I had no plans to use him ever and wanted to get some value for him (and, even then, escalating the trade might blow up in my face if Daniel Thomas doesn't play).

But JStew's got Top 20 upside... especially if DeAngelo were to get hurt.

Really glad to get a TD out of J-Stew. Looks like I've got an outside chance of beating Ember Island this week in the No Quitters league.

FPL's team looking awful today, damn.

Can't sit Jordy Nelson lol

I know I'm not complaining. :)

Looks like Hookers and Blow may be alone in first after today's games. Mighty impressive for a team that's made a grand total of ONE roster move to date. That's what we call nice drafting.

I'm still stunned Little (who's having a decent game) caught the ball and was tripped by the 3-yard line. Had an easy touchdown, things like that and Jones getting hurt AGAIN is why bad luck has plagued me the last 3 weeks.

Who has Billy Cundiff?

Edit: wow at that Brady pass to Hernandez.

In the Economy League, I've got a 21 point lead over Locker. He basically has Peterson left. I've got this barring a huge game by AP.

<smiles> After all of my big moves this week, who would have thought swapping kickers would have the biggest payoff?

I've got a fun situation going on in the Economy League, deadlocked at 69.33 with Alex Anderson.

He has 2 minutes worth of Darren Sproles.
I have 60 minutes worth of Reggie Bush.

Let's see if Reggie can outdo 2 minutes worth of work from the guy who replaced him in New Orleans. (I'm not sure that he can.)

EDIT: Well, that should be easier. Reggie just needs to avoid negative points now.

Now it's exactly a 23.01 point lead over Locker. I've got this if Peterson scores only 1 TD.

In No Quitters, not only did I beat Ember Island, but I'm currently the highest scorer this week. Thanks Bradshaw and J-Stew!
