Congrats! I remember when my brother beat it first time. The last level is pretty brutal because you have to start all the way from the start when you die in the boss....I finally beaten Ninja Gaiden for the 1st time ever!!!
Thanks, this game got insane at the end, lol. I finally actually get to see the ending for the 1st time ever after all these years.congrats!
For the 3 final bosses, learn their patterns 1st, it's what I did after numerous tries. Jaquio took me the longest, but the 1st is easy as hell and the final wasn't the worst but not a total pushover, though it's best to hit it when those things aren't coming at you.Congrats! I remember when my brother beat it first time. The last level is pretty brutal because you have to start all the way from the start when you die in the boss.
I myself haven't beaten the game yet. Last level but have not finished it.
Awesome! Let me know what you think; I'm planning on logging some time with it this weekend.
I have some things to say about Ninja Gaiden:
The hit detection is crappy, sometimes your sword goes through an enemy, and other times your sword doesn't even properly come out allowing a enemy to hit you. Lots of my deaths are caused by this. The hit detection on Jaquio is the worst as it can be random if you hit him or not, sometimes you can hit him from a distance, other times you can hit him at point blank and do no damage to him. I wish it didn't have that.
The enemy respawns are ridiculous. Some enemies endlessly spawn even after you killed them. Enemies can go away off screen through a glitch and then respawn again, lol.
6-2 is a nightmare. Most of my time was on that section, most other stages I don't do too bad on but that one can go fuck itself. The enemy spawns are out of control in that section.
The birds can also go fuck themselves as well. Those fast as hell high damaging pests annoy me to no end and it's worse when you are on a ladder. Jet pack ninjas are the 2nd worst.
I don't like the idea of going back to 6-1 when you die. Hell I reset the game each time that happens, no lie, lol. Fighting 3 final bosses with no health refills is insanity. My patience is already tested by 6-2 and Jaquio, why do I need to waste even more time on getting back to the boss only to possibly die again and start over from the beginning of the section. It's either do or die when you get to the 3 final bosses.
I had a hell of a good time playing it this week despite my frustration, I learned the stages and enemy patterns more so I could breeze through it more often as I got better at it. When I fought the 3 final bosses I defeated them all with no powerups. I would like to use fire on Jaquio but how I managed to beat him without a powerup is beyond me, lol. This has been a hell of a intense week for me since I'm learning how to play Ninja Gaiden more just like how I learned how to play the Shinobi games more last month.
I never saw the ending of this game until recently on my screen for the 1st time ever. The game beats my ass everyday this week until I learned to stop messing around and get serious to overcome the crap it gave me. I have played this game years ago but didn't get far until recently. Now I can do a recording in the future and go after them sequels!!! From what I hear about Ninja Gaiden 3, it sounds like I will rage even more than playing this, lol.
*sigh* I feel really stupid for asking this because I thought I read carefully, but when it comes to doing a NESRgb mod on an AV Fami, you can use the av port I see, but it says use a GC Scart? Is that EU SCART or JP21 Scart? I am considering having someone mod mine and I already have the SCART to Component adapter. Would I benefit?
Picked up some stuff at a retro gaming convention:

Bought one off eBay, came all covered in crap and doesn't work right. The seller said the sound stuff didn't work but the controller was functional but the down doesn't work right and the turbo switches do nothing.
Is it worth trying to buy another one?
It's the hardest in the trilogy so it's not you, it's the game.Cotdam, Ninja Gaiden III is kicking my ass. Do I just suck now? The jungle level was a real struggle, lol. So satisfying :]

sharing for those interested...
There is 1 nice looking and says tested from a US seller of gaming stuff for $29 on ebay
Japan sellers tend to ask about that much for untested controllers that are complete gambles.
Little Samson is 1k cart only now.
What. The. Fuck.
It's actually a good game too. Not just a rare one for rarity sake. That has always been a game that I figured I would look into after I had already gotten other things I wanted to, and never really looked up the price. Welp, I guess I can safely say that that is never going to happen now.

Worth playing via non official means since it's basically abandonware at this point.
Should be on Virtual Console, but SE is dumb.
I paid $40 (or $50?) for mine back in um, 2006? I thought it was really expensive, but I really wanted it.Little Samson is 1k cart only now.

Hmm, it might have been 2007, I just remember that I got it for a few bucks less than what was the going average at the time.$40 would have been relatively expensive back then. Prices went up considerably in 2007 and blew up in 2009.

I've been an NES collector on and off since the late 90s. I never even considered CIB games until around 2006 or so. I thought prices were nutty then. Sheesh. Wish I would have gone for a few more back then. Especially those black box games. I started collecting those loose back in my early days. I still don't even have all of those ....$40 would have been relatively expensive back then. Prices went up considerably in 2007 and blew up in 2009.
Wow. I forgot that everyone called the controllers "paddles" back in ancient times.
Sigh, I nearly had that game too. Back in 2003 my friend and I were driving all around town to take advantage of Gamestop's B2G1 clearance stuff, and we went to this location that had Little Samson and Snow Bros. We did rock paper scissors and he ended up with it. I still haven't gotten any version of it, Samson or Lickle. On the bright side I still have Snow Bros.
On another, less depressing topic, I love restoring Famicoms. They come up the best of any console (left one is my main Fami for comparison in both pics)
Of courseWas that done with your Hydrogen Peroxide creme solution?
Damn, my Famicom looks just like the one on the right. On another, less depressing topic, I love restoring Famicoms.

You don't need burning sun, it works on a cloudy day, follow the url of the images for a blog post on the process. My GF is a hair stylist so I will tell her to pick me up a little from his work, I'm going to try it with some of my yellowed SNES carts, some are insanely in bad state.
I just wish that some day I can see the sun, the weather has been awful this weeks...

Yeah you have to monitor full time on a hot day. Like re-apply a thin layer every 5 minutes. I've perfected it now in any conditions.Yeh, I actually wouldn't recommend burning sun as it resulted in blooming for me.

i've been after bubble bobble for such a long time that it's hard to believe the hunt is over. after a non-absurdly priced copy, i mean, if i wanted to drop double what i paid there's ebay sellers ready to fleece me for it. there was a time where i didn't think i'd ever get ahold of this so it's really nice to finally scratch it off the hitlist. this nutty zip-bag has to be one of the weirdest packaging jobs for the system, second only to kiki kaikai.
(Sometimes the background color changes, but it always have that same set of blocky mess.)

Here's a visible scratch, that is only noticeable in the right angle/light.
Does the contacts still seem too dirty to anyone, or does it look like their needs to be any kind of soldering? Or, is it possible for it to be just a dead ROM?![]()
