well, just heard on the radio. this explains why i couldn't use Yahoo mail and can't log into Y Messenger. according to the report, numerous others are having problems and it's believed to be some large scale net attack.

Akamai had a major screw up earlier today, that was about it. That would explain shit like Yahoo (and other major sites that use Akamai's network) acting up.
