And all of the sudden everyone is talking about history instead of about how Netanyahu ran the country to the ground in terms of security, diplomacy and economics and has no plan on how to improve anything. So what if he has to offend history and the memory of the Holocaust if it serves short-term political goals, right?

Of course he knows it's bullshit. He, and others like him, only keep their power in Israel by continuing to drive the post holocaust "never again, trust nobody, we will kill them before they come for us" mentality that was valid post-WW2, but does nothing but encourage conflict now. If he doesn't keep that mentality alive and raging, he'd be irrelevant in Israeli politics. He needs people in Israel to hate Muslims and be fearful and suspicious of them and the rest of the world in general.

It was about time some one stood up for the good guy Hitler. Such a bad influence from his entourage for this pour soul. /s

It's one of the most insane statements I heard from a freely elected head of state/government.

The preferred solution to "the Jewish problem" for many Nazis actually was encouraging them to emigrate to Palestine. As a solution that was more popular with the Nazis than their allies. That much is true, I guess. Palestinian leaders explicitly telling Hitler to burn all the Jews has the strong whiff of bullshit.

But it's also been said before that the Nazi support of Zionism pre war has many parallels with the support of Zionism in the USA after the war.

As a world history major, who especially studied the Holocaust (among other things), hahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahhaha.

No seriously, c'mon Bibi, you're drunk, go home.

Hahaha this is awesome

My grandfather came to this land in 1920 and he landed in Jaffa, and very shortly after he landed he went to the immigration office in Jaffa. And a few months later it was burned down by marauders. These attackers, Arab attackers, murdered several Jews, including our celebrated writer Brenner.

And this attack and other attacks on the Jewish community in 1920, 1921, 1929, were instigated by a call of the Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini, who was later sought for war crimes in the Nuremberg trials because he had a central role in fomenting the final solution. He flew to Berlin. Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time, he wanted to expel the Jews. And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, "If you expel them, they'll all come here." "So what should I do with them?" he asked. He said, "Burn them."

My Canadian friend is originally Palestinian from Al-Husseini family. She always tells me that her family is really hated by Israeli's but we never got into details and make fun of the whole thing.

I'll get to tease her with this now.

"BURN THEM" MUWAHAHAHAHA

so on a basic level, the leader of Israel is mitigating the responsibility of Hitler on the final solution to further persecute the Palestinians.........> Poor Hitler just wanted to deport them but the evil Palestinians convinced him to burn them....

Whats the most extreme extrapolation of jumping the shark? Jumped so far over the shark he's orbiting our entire galaxy? something along those lines? this is that

so anybody bothered to fact check? i mean in the video he is naming someone and talking about stuff involving the Nuremberg Trials which i think shouldn't be too hard to fact check right?

I mean my first instinct is to not believe him simply because it's him. But it would be interesting to know where this position comes from, if not from some established fact.

Did you miss the part in the OP where they go over the validity of the claim?

The idea that al-Husseini convinced Hitler is ludicrous and baseless. It's just a shameful statement by Netanyahu.

As for the rest, there is little doubt that al-Husseini was (at least to some extent, especially later) a proponent of the genocide of the Jews. He later worked for the Nazis (and was paid very well), was in contact with high Nazis, he lived in Germany from 1941 to 1945 and if he hadn't escaped, I assume he might've been put on trial at Nürnberg. There's no doubt the guy was utterly despicable scum. That doesn't excuse Netanyahu's statement though.

There is no denial about Palestine's Haj Amin al-Husseini's views about Hitler, the Nazi ideology and the perceived "Jewish problem". It's a well known fact that al-Husseini wanted the same eradication of Jewish people in his region the way Nazi Germany did with Jewish people in Europe. HOWEVER, what Netanyahu is claiming is that Palestinians and al-Husseini convinced Hitler at the very core and beginning to eradicate Jewish people which is false. Hitler had the views of the eradication of Jewish people before al-Husseini expressed similar views in relation to Hitler's and request of Hitler to do the same there. The sentiment and atrocities towards Jewish people across Europe and Hitler's views were there already - they were not instilled by Palestine or al-Husseini as Netanyahu falsely claims. It's simply that some Palestinians and al-Husseini had a common view - the "scourge of the Jews on their land", Hitler had that view in Eurpe and al-Husseini had that view regarding the Jews in his region. However Netanyahu being the person he is will warp and revise history to indicate that Palestine and al-Husseini convinced Hitler to do what he did because he wants people to believe that so he can "justify" the actions and treatment of Palestine. Netanyahu is basically making revisionist statements and trying to make it out as Palestine and al-Husseini is the reason for the holocaust where as in reality Hitler/Nazi ideology had these views regardless, it's just the fact that both shared similar views and wanted the same goal - the eradication of Jewish people in order to protect their ethnicity (which they felt was under attack by Jews).

Blaming the Palestinians for the Final Solution is on the same delusional level as the Iranian Holocaust deniers.

Which is ironic, when you think about it.

Seriously. Bibi is the quintessential, warmongering dickhead who deflects to the Israeli-Palestinian crisis to make everyone forget about all the shit he should be doing to improve the country, or away from all the shit he has done to hurt it.

What a piece of shit. The claim makes no sense at all for anyone who takes two seconds to think about it. It wasn't Muslim leaders who have systematically persecuted Jews for two thousand years for killing their god. It makes no sense that the mufti would have come up with this idea and that he would have been able to convince Hitler to spend so much resources on the systematic killing of Jews, especially not in one meeting! And of course there is Hitler's own writings from much earlier which are full of anti-Jewish sentiment. He needed no one to convince him to carry out the murder of Jews.

Netanyahu is such a shit head. It looks like he took this straight from Pamella Gellar's stupid islamaphobic billboards. He's clearly saying this shit to incite more unrest.

He should run for US office. He's got Rove's shtick down, only with a heavy dose of Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper for that extra dollop of batshit warcockery.

This guy is a fucking evil, murderous, pathologically lying psychopath. I cannot believe Israel voted him in again, and his last minute surge of popularity because he admitted he would continue to expand the illegal settlements, essentially driving the Palestinians out. Absolutely abhorrent. The world needs to wake up to the antics of this oppressive, colonising and apartheid inflicting government.

Netanyahu is scum, but, from the OP, he is blaming al-Husseini not the Palestinians. One man can't represent a nation.
How is it relevant? It's like someone saying out of the blue "remember, Pol Pot was Cambodian" or "Mussoline was Italian". No shit. The point being...?

I wasn't really aware of this scheme but Nazis supported Zionism for several years before the war.

Thing is, originally, Zionism didn't exactly advocated the return of Jews to Israel nor to any particular land. Zionism used to be just the belief that Jews ought to have their particular nation state, the territory as of itself was unimportant (back then) what was important was the ide aitself.

In fact, there were heated debates among many prominent Zionists of where to locate Israel, with Palestine being just one of many places to consider (Argentina and Australia were two other alternative candidates, for examples).

Consequently, Hitler was very supportive of the idea behind Zionism under his, hum, particular interpretation (turning Madagascar into a huge island-prision for Jews run by the SS so they wouldn't being able to "infect" the other countries, basically).

That's only true if you ignore the political context in which he's saying this.

Fair enough, I just read the OP.

How is it relevant? It's like someone saying out of the blue "remember, Pol Pot was Cambodian" or "Mussoline was Italian". No shit. The point being...?

The point is: Netanyahu speech doesn't justify shit, because if what he says is true, it is an act of a sole man. Looks like I was misinterpreted, as "The point being...?" is exactly what I would say to Netanyahu.

Those pesky Palestinians....

On a more serious note, I'm sure someone out there is raising their hands an shouting "I Knew it!"

Stupid Bibi

Britain controlled Palestine so I find that doubtful (ironically, the same country that were also stopping Jews from moving there).

I usually respect Bibi but this is nonsense from someone who should know much better. Not sure what he's trying to achieve here as I doubt many Israelis would believe that arabs are the ones that convinced Hitler to carry out the final solution.

Why would you ever respect that monster?

I've never heard of the guy he's talking about. Was he really pro-holocaust or was that complete lie? Did he even ever meet with Hitler or anybody from German govt?

EDIT: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haj_Amin_al-Husseini#Al-Husseini_and_the_Holocaust

Seems pretty bad, honestly. Doesn't mean he came up with the idea, though.

Dude was a scumbag and even Palestinians expelled him for debauchery. However he was not an architect to the Holocaust.

Shouldn't Netanyahu be declared a Holocaust denier?

Oh so now we're rewriting history and it's not the nazis who exterminated the jews but the moslems ?

Time to update the history books.

The worst part is, if it comes to that, Israel's little state bitches will all find a way to get behind it.
