Netflix |OT| Where Binge Watching is Encouraged

Just saw Rebirth.
The way it was going eventually I was expecting some truly dark and sinister stuff
and in that way it disappointed me a little. Still I enjoyed it though. Am I right in assuming

Kyle really wasn't happy at all with Rebirth but he basically had to act like he was in the credits footage? They claim he went back and eventually became a true believer but I doubt that. Before the credits they ask him to make a donation and from there on he has committed a felony. So Rebirth has him where they want him. In the end it's basically Kyle being held hostage, while it is looking like he is with Rebirth and trying to get everybody to join.

Correct or all wrong?

Ask the Storybots is great. My 5 year old watched Storybots a lot on youtube, and the show is that with some structure and a higher budget. Smart, great music and really funny.

There's a philosophical owl that teaches the 4 forces of flight in a way that I don't think any teacher or teaching method has ever done more effectively.

TFA coming tomorrow :D

Yay.

Hold on.......

I don't see TFA there?

I recently watched Holidays and the ABCs of death 2.

Trash. It's definitely not always that their own rating is correct but this time it really was.

Anyone watch Baskin?

I usually try to catch most of the decent horror movies that hit Netflix, and this one... it's up there.

There isn't much escalation in terms of plot or conflict. There isn't much character development to speak of. It's really not even clear what's going on, entirely. None of those things really matter for a good horror movie, and Baskin is a great example of that.

The antagonist is on the level of some of the creepier ones I've seen, kind of like the cult leader in Poltergeist 2.

I was digging it. Then it ended which was uh...meh? I'm still not sure how I feel about the movie. It had a really cool vibe going then simply stopped and ended all stupid. With a better ending I'd have loved it.

If, like me, you'd forgotten that Jonah Hill and Emma Stone were doing a dark comedy with Cary Fukunaga of True Detective that's a remake of a 2014 Norwegian series, well, Jonah Hill just did an interview about it. More here

"Cary's a filmmaker I really want to work with - and working with Emma again... that's a very attractive thing to be part of."

Hill and Stone will also serve as executive producers on the project, something which he says was part of the appeal as well.

"Writing and directing is the ultimate expression of [creative control]," he added. "That's where I want to put a lot of my time and effort into. Being a director is the only true way to control what ends up on the screen."

Got my notice from Netflix that I need to agree to a new plan at a higher rate. Lucky for them I just finished up watching Stranger Things and started The Killing. Both shows are so good I'd pay more then $10 a month.

Netflix has ordered a new series from Nick Stoller (Bad Neighbours 1+2) and Francesca Delbranco, to star Keegan-Michael Key and Cobie Smulders.

Netflix has given the greenlight to “Friends From College,” an ensemble comedy featuring Keegan-Michael Key and Cobie Smulders.

The half-hour series hails from the husband-and-wife team of Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco. The story revolves around a group of friends who attended Harvard together and are now in their 40s, experiencing varying degrees of success in their personal and professional lives. Stoller and Delbanco, who are both Harvard alums, are writing and exec producing the series, with Stoller also set to direct all eight episodes.

The cast also includes Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon, Fred Savage and Jae Suh Park.

Premise is pretty cringeworthy but the cast is good.

Just finished Hell on Wheels S4. Big improvement over S3, which I disliked. Kinda started to fall apart towards the end though.

Started Helix. Seems interesting.
