It is staggeringly unhelpful how some of the online lists for the UK "coming next month" get confused with the US ones or include US content.

The only reliable list I've found is a really, really thin one which I assume is incomplete, but I suppose at least it's not wrong. (I briefly got my hopes up that the CW shows would be coming before I remembered they have a deal with Sky and Amazon over here)

Netflix has the lead in an auction going on to acquire The Helicopter Heist, a fact-based drama that has Jake Gyllenhaal attached to star and produce with his Nine Stories Productions partner Riva Marker.

The drama is the story of the Västberga helicopter robbery in 2009, when a G4S cash service depot was robbed in Stockholm, Sweden. A gang of brazen robbers used a stolen Bell 206 Jet Ranger to land on the roof of the building, where they stole more than $5 million.

Between Beasts of No Nations, Mute, Gerald's Game, etc., really love seeing these quality films premiering or in the works at Netflix

One of the most popular standup comedians of the last two decades, Chris Rock, is returning to the stage for two new comedy specials at a new TV home. In an extremely competitive situation, the specials have landed at Netflix in a deal that sources peg to be in the neighborhood of $40 million, a record for comedy specials.

In his return to stand-up after an eight-year absence, Rock will tape two new specials that will debut on Netflix around the world. The first show will tape in 2017, following a new world tour being planned now.

A few things I have watched over the weekend:

Luke Cage - About halfway through the season and I'm enjoying it. I have never heard of Cage before I read that he was going to get his own show. In that sense, I kinda wished they would have started with his backstory instead of jumping right into it. Shades is probably my favorite character.

13th - I finally was able to get around to watching this. Holy fuck, this documentary needs more views and love. It was is an eye-opener for sure. It was fucking saddening.

Watching footage from Birth of a Nation, seeing the propaganda of Willie Horton, and hearing about ALEC hit me the hardest.

This should be required viewing for all.

The Siege of Jadotville - My second favorite Netflix original movie (although, might not be saying much). I have never heard of this story before and was excited to see this. The acting was great, as were the battle scenes.

It is incredible that these men were considered cowards for so long. They were heroes, facing overwhelming odds. Really glad I got to see their story be told.

My only real complaint some of the back story isn't clear or seems rushed. I know it isn't an easy feat when the film has two hours.

Damn, where is season 2 of iZombie? Started watching it last week and it's a very intriguing mix to me.

I've got a pretty flawless setup to stream anything not on Netflix or Prime on my Shield TV but y'know, low quality streams and all that. I'd certainly prefer to watch it in HD.

Interestingly enough Netflix showed 5.1 audio for the show but apparently that's not the case? Atleast it didn't get picked up for me, only stereo. Weird.
