Neverending Nightmares - horror game by Retro/Grade dev [KS ends today]

"Never ending failure"... maybe you shouldn't do another generic "trying to be new" indie horror game. ????????????????????????

Generic? have you at least played the demo?

I'm not a huge horror game fan but this guy clearly has a vision and the demo proves talent.

It's really a bummer that Kickstarter has become "Fund the old guy who used to have cool ideas and now wants to cash in on the old thing he used to do again" instead of "Fund the newcomer that actually has a cool new idea."

Simultaneous release, that's great!

Although how is the game going to be funded now? By Ouya?

Besides this change, they also lowered the minimum funding requirement and added a backer count to prevent situations like Gridiron Thunder.

Oh...so Ouya funded if they have enough backers/funding but not hitting the kickstarter goal?

Oh, it's on the website:

"Funding Requirements" shall mean:

1. Project Minimum. Have a Kickstarter minimum project funding goal of $10,000.
2. Number of Backers. For every $10,000 raised on Kickstarter, have a minimum of 100 backers.
So, Neverending Nightmares qualifies because it has 1706 backers which is more than 100 backers for each $10,000.

Damn I don't think this game is going to get funded. What a shame

A bit worried for Gilgenbach, considering his history with Retro/Grade....

Unfortunately not, see his response in the comments section:

If the game doesn't get funded, then we get $0 from Kickstarter and $0 from Ouya. Here is the relevant section of the rules:
"OUYA will match 100% of Developer's funding goal on Kickstarter up to a maximum of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000) in matching funds provided Developer has met its Kickstarter funding goal ("Matching Funds")."

Has gotten quite the boost since last I saw it. It could be close, but I don't think it'll make it. *hopes my pessimism is jinxed*

It'll certainly be coming in hot if it makes it. I just pledged today and hope to see it become a reality. Could make for a good Spookin' with Scoops.

I haven't followed very many kickstarter projects. But considering how much time is left, what's the chances of this project getting funded?

I'd say it still has a shot, but it probably won't get funded. Projects that manage to get over 50% funding by the last week have a good chance of getting fully funded due to a surge in the last week. The project is currently at 63% but we haven't really seen a big surge yet and we're partway through the last week so that's worrisome. Also, the project ends on a Sunday which tends to be a weak day for kickstarter in general.

With all the talk with Matt, I'm surprised he hasn't actually played the demo yet for the feature. There are some great scares in just those 15 min!

100.000 $ seems too much for that kind of game. it has an interesting premise but that design does not work for me.

Not when I have played The Cat Lady. A game where most of the excellent voice work and music was provided for free and budget cost much less

Messaged Stump about the changing the thread title. It's amazing how the campaign accelerated over the last few days. I was sure it wasn't going to make it.
