To me, the mask/hero is more of an idea or a representation. Different people can wear it. It's not like theyre saying "oh Bruce Wayne is black now"
There's so much ridiculous spit in comics, this barely raises an eyebrow from me.
I've even accepted the fact that if they were ever to reboot Buffy and make her black, that I'd be okay with it. Not like any remake would ever be the show I grew up with anyhow. Buffy isn't going anywhere, just like Bruce Wayne Batman isn't going anywhere

I don't disagree, but you and I both know the likelihood of a new IP catching on to the heights of something on par with Batman or Spider-Man are bleak.

Yes. We already have a Batman, we don't need a new one no matter the skin color. If you are incapable of writing a character without changing who they are you probably shouldn't be writing that character.

But that's not the case. Many of these people walk around with an internet-enabled smartphone which gives them access to a wealth of information both from the left and the right. They have the power to define their media diets.
That's why I'm inclined to believe that people who are hardcore BLM-supporting leftists in the era of smartphone have fundamentally chosen to go down that path.

Let’s be honest, this isn’t going to sell even if the story is well written. Bruce is Batman like Peter is Spider-Man and Logan is Wolverine and Bruce Banner is Hulk. Every single time this is attempted it flops and then they blame white guys. Bruce will be back in a few months and this guy will don another mantle, get a new series under a new name and a few forced cameos, and then he still won’t sell and then they’ll cancel him. Google image results are based on popularity, relevance and recent articles that have used these images with pages linked to European historical figures.
Due to what happened in 2020 with the BLM movement, a lot of websites put up pages detailing historical, black Europeans.
